Honestly I can nitpick all the way through over this train-wreck the whole day and night and that still will not be enough to expose how many things they did it wrong.

The actresses explicitly stated during production that the costumes wouldn't sexualize them. Which males me wonder how late in production Grace and Hannah signed-up? Seeing as it's pretty obvious the original plan was for a sexier EW & DG.

It could be they wanted better actresses than just pretty models since it appears they wanted some kind of comedy thing. But I've seen Helbigs channel and this girl does not have one sexual bone in her body. She's pretty but hardly someone with any sexual inclination. If anything she seems more anti-feminine or rebellious feminine. In one video I recall her recommending girls pretend to be pregnant to piss off their parents.

So I'm not sure who this show was made for. Certainly not a large audience that would have maybe stayed with it due to sex appeal. And female audiences rarely stay with female focused shows or female comic books etc so I can't see the appeal there.

I get the impression that may have been how the original draft of the script went. Before it was adapted to angsty, 'quirky' YouTubers played by angsty, 'quirky' YouTubers.

Batman, Batgirl and Robin are frozen by Mr. Freeze's gun and Alfred puts them into these thaw chambers to thaw them out but he has a heart attack and dies before he can finish setting up the machine. Richpartist is right, Mr.X nailed, and as far as the fair use of a low budget for the exploitation of a cheese fetish/peril scene, for the sake of parody goes, not even that they were able to do it right. People from C4S are able to at least know their knots no matter what kind of "rope" they are allowed to afford. People with real budget should be capable of doing better than this below :



And let's make this clear, they had money for a lot of things but kinky was not one of them.

Well, aside from a one-off broadcast of The Spider Lady over a decade ago, nobody has shown the original episodes in many years. The attempted 2001 update never went past the unaired pilot. In recent years, the Kroffts' income from this property has consisted of royalties from a few low-key VHS and DVD releases. So I can't really blame them for selling their souls when Legendary Entertainment came calling.

In the ill-fated Markie Post series, I heard Judy Strangis was going to back for the first season finale as the original Dyna Girl, turned evil.
I would have loved to have seen that.

This afternoon, I was talking to one of the actresses on the original Dyna Hunk Electra Babe and Dyna Chick series and we thought it would be a good idea to do something like that. Obvious;y, we'd need a new generation of college-age actresses who don't mind dressing like Simone Biles and getting into all sorts of weird situations. Nothing pornographic in the strictest sense of the term, I'd just be looking for the same tone as the 1960; Batman shows.

Then we'd have the original, older, evil Dyna Chick as the villain looking for revenge.

Haven't figured out traps yet and would hope the costumes are close to the originals.

No matter what I doubt it could be worse then the remake they tried itne sprig

So I know this probably comes out of the blue but I just finally saw this Electra/Dyna reboot movie. It's easy to find now.

Yes, the Youtube actors are rather inept. Horrible jokes throughout that simply do not land (kind of a trademark of the sjw writing style).
[Note: some spoiler-ish facts ahead...]

Yet kernels of prurient interest can still be found:
1) For a good portion of the movie's beginning, both actresses are in the old-school Electra & Dyna costumes. Sure, Hannah Hart looks like (is?) a butch lesbian, but her costume is tight and she has a cute cape and nice shiny pink boots. And as for Grace Helbig, she is hot. And despite not wanting to be sexualized, she is gorgeous in the Electra-Woman costume, which is quite tight and has the shiny orange boots. She has curves, and moves in the costume quite slinkily. So even though she presented a strong feminist front when hired, I still think she enjoyed the campiness of wearing it. And you'll enjoy that time watching these two in their outfits, if you can ignore the terrible dialogue.
2) The reboot battle costume of Electra Woman is also somewhat sexy around the torso area. Not much, but some.
3) The brief appearances of the heroine Starletta, played by the beautiful Lindsay Maxwell, are played up for sexuality.
4) Matreya Fedor, who plays the villainess Empress of Evil, looks nothing like the Empress from the original series, who was a mature-looking Disney villain caricature. However, Fedor is quite young (possibly 19-20 when it was filmed) and very beautiful in face and hair. She wears a tight bodysuit outfit with boots that have heels (unfortunately not many clear shots of the boots). Fedor does play a sufficiently menacing and sexy villainess. I love the contrast between her snarky character at the beginning of the movie to her damaged villainous psyche at the end of it.
5) The peril scene where they are restrained by metal cables does exist. It's a missed opportunity because they are in civilian clothes, not their costumes, and look like schlubs. But the peril is there.

I guess that's about it. I'm not totally sorry I wasted my time on it. And reading this thread again reminds me that one year ago, everyone was lamenting the lack of sexiness in a mainstream reboot of EW&DG. Yet in the recent Captain Marvel thread, some posters are like, "Well it doesn't matter if it's sexy." For us, at least, I think it does, my friends. I think it does!

Yes of course that's the case. But the SHIP genre "exists" because the people who create it were originally inspired by sexy parts of mainstream media productions and comic books. These nuggets happened on the regular from the 60s through the 90s, and still peek out occasionally today: The DC CW shows, the Marvel Netflix shows, Powers, etc. can all be mined for such gems by the observant viewer. So it would be nice if they kept happening wherever possible

And yes, the bike shorts are goofy and probably a result of the de-sexualization agenda but you know what? Grace Helbig still looks hella hot in that costume regardless. And right there is your sexy moment! (Along with the hot Evil Empress scenes)

Yes you'd have to go out of your way to make a special set of bike short leotards. You can find the regular ones everywhere. There probably is some online somewhere but that is absurd. And my impressions is these girls slapped these outfits together on a budget so they wouldn't just go and make some special bike short version.

Unless they actually ride bikes and don't want their costumes riding up.

Just my 2 cents on some of the recent discussion here. The question of sexiness aside. It is NOT hard to find bikeshort leotards. They are for bike exercising.... and exercise club exercising when you don't want every dude wolf whistling when they walk past you doing the stair climber, they are essentially exactly as easy to find as ordinary leotards, usually in the same area, buildings, and websites of such commerce and don't require any special effort whatsoever to obtain.
