We all remember it from the episode "The Girl from Islandia" of the Lynda Carter show. Could it be done on the budget of a superheroine video?
Clearly, it is possible to build the prop if you have the budget of a TV or movie production. You can order acrylic cylinders from the factory, though they are probably too sturdy/heavy. Or, you can form a thin acrylic sheet into a half-cylinder using a heat gun. But either way, it's probably not going to be cheap.
Then I thought "What if you could buy something already made that would serve the same purpose?"
To cut to the chase, what you want to look for is a used retail floor display cabinet. A rectangular glass box is pretty common, just take the glass shelves out of it, and it might even have lighting installed in it already. If you're really lucky, you might even find one that is round, or at least six or eight-sided.
If you're in a major city, there are probably companies that resell used retail fixtures, and in the current business climate, they probably have a lot of stock on hand.
Other possibilities might include something like this curio cabinet, if it could be made to work:

You might even be able to find an old phone booth that would work.
Safety note: whatever you do, you should mount the cabinet onto a large heavy base, so that there is no chance of it tipping over. I'm thinking a 48" square of heavy duty plywood, with carpet glued over it.

I'm kind of surprised that Anastasia Pierce hasn't got one of those already (I mean, she might have and just be using it as a really cool shower cubicle, I'm kind of out of my comfort zone when it comes to women's shower routines)

MH, Thats pretty much the Dog's Bollock's, as we say this side of the water!
Can use tight camera work and lose the shower heads from view and I would say you have a goer.

That post reminds me of the "Thesp in a Jar" subgenre which has been popular since The Silence of the Lambs. Have a brilliant supervillain, usually with an English accent, imprisoned in a cell, but still able to manipulate the heroes.Lurkndog wrote:Wow, that is one heck of a shower, Hypnotic.
Forget the Tube of Doom, you've already got Loki's cell from The Avengers.

Do you know any girls who could be an English villainess, MH?
How's this for a scenario?
1. Imprisoned villainess taunts her superheroine nemesis.
2. She feigns some sort of seizure, forcing the heroine to enter the cell.
3. Villainess springs a trap.
4. G/G sexy stuff.
5. Villainess escapes, leaving the heroine to perish in a booby-trapped cell.
