Kristina Hess has given me full permission to post this thread, to wit: "I would LOVE for you to post on there for me if you would be so kind. That would be so awesome – I’m slammed with pre-production through next week, so the more help networking the better lol!"

Message from Kristina Hess

Hi Everyone!!!!

The wait is ALMOST over! Wanted to drop in with a promo photo in good faith that we are moving forward with our new series titled “Chained” – we have more Poster Promos on the website as well! We shot our teaser trailer promo this past Sunday and are still editing a few different options as we speak – I’m SOOOOOO STOKED at how awesome it came out!

I’ve been swamped with emails asking for cast members and ya’ll are going to hate me, but I can’t tell you just yet (cue the awwwwww’s) – the reveal trailer will be a pleasant surprise for a LOT of you (I hope lol) and I’m hoping to get that out within the next week or so! Since it’s my first solo production, I want to make sure I don’t rush anything. :) [Note, most of the cast is revealed in the video below]

So now the BIG news: we are looking to potentially launch this series in a different way. We are looking to use Patreon.com to create a subscription base for our releases. Basically, in simple terms, this is like an on-going Kickstarter where people can subscribe and donate monthly to keep productions (and other companies) running. Each subscription amount has PERKS attached which keeps people excited about the projects and get to be a part of the growth of the project and, in this case, a female-owned production company (an action company to be more specific, which doesn’t exist in Hollywood yet to my knowledge). PLEASE DO NOT QUOTE ME ON THIS, we are still in development for the releases, BUT, I’m thinking that our episodes can be released at the lowest contributor of a very small amount per episode since I will be marketing to every viewer on the planet if I can. NOW, I would love to try this out, but I have zero experience with it, so it may or may not work. There’s a reason the SHIP producers have their price-point, so this may be a shot in the dark and fail miserably, but I want to give it a true try. If we can get enough people to jump on board and be as excited as we are about the project to fund each episode, make sure everyone is paid and keep producing, then we would be so stoked to keep it at that pricing level (which we like to call contributor level). So what does that mean? It means potentially all of our episodes could be super inexpensive with options of contributing higher for cooler perks to add!! We’re looking at 15-20 min episodes as of right now at 1-2 releases per month. Again, please don’t quote me, I’m still trying to do my research on it and look at the pros and cons, but I feel I won’t know until I try and see the numbers.

So that leads me to open up some questions for ya’ll. The more feedback I can get, the higher chance that we can all work together and create some great material! What would be some cool perks ya’ll would be excited to see as options for other contribution levels? As of right now, I have some options that include: Behind-the-Scenes videos, photoshoots, Skype sessions, Custom endings/costumes/ideas, live feed of filming on set, questions for each cast member/crew, Associate Producer credit, Skype session with our writers/creators to have input on storyline, raffle for custom ideas, and a fan package that gives you a monthly DVD of the episode and personalized photo of a cast member. Are there any other things you think would be cool to have as a perk for higher contributor levels? [Note: Below in the auxiliary comments, she has figured out some of the contributor levels and prices]

I really appreciate ALL the feedback and couldn’t do this without you all! Please don’t forget to sign up for the “Chained” Newsletter at www.ChainedtheSeries.com and visit our new company page: www.OmniRisingProductions.com. Again, I’m humbled at the wave of support and am SO excited to see what everyone has to say <3

Some auxiliary comments from Kristina. How is she so amazing?

-Our series is based on human trafficking and a fight club that feeds it, so you will definitely get the sense of humiliation and slavery mixed with very strong females etc. Our villains will be very different character-wise and our leads (9 females) will all have a very different story and character. We are trying to ensure that each episode has its share of peril and girl power. There will be some that will show the “breaking” of the characters and that will be torture-heavy. But the writers are trying to hit every check box per episode to the best of their abilities..Let’s just say we are basing a lot of the idea around Spartacus and the gladiators... We’ve built an entire world on this concept of an underground fighting ring, but the girls are not there by their own free will – We’ve mixed in the element of human trafficking. Our head honcho is Dante, think Fortune 500 CEO mixed with a Cartel feel. He runs the entire organization and there are other Kingpins so to speak that own their own “clans” of girls. My writers are coming up with a concept story that will be available soon where we will explain a bit more without giving away the entire story. Dark, sweaty, dirty and gruesome is what we’re going for. The series will have a sort of Sin City/Fight Club vibe to it looks-wise. [As for the pilot trailer], yeah, I was going for the realism of being captured and the severity of having to fight for your life. We will have males involved in later episodes. Props/weapons will be introduced as well later in the series as potential upgrades, etc.

-This will be a brutal series, so it will encompass TONS of elements including belly punching for sure, low blows, AOH, chains, bondage, torture, etc. I got your back ya’ll!! lol

-Yes, this is the super heroine genre but we won’t see any of the girls with powers just yet. We are diving more into the origin story first which is going to encompass lots of peril and girl power elements mixed with torture. Think of XMen before they knew of their powers. I’ll have a synopsis to be able to send you guys once my writers get it to me...As of right now, we are focusing more on the backstory and setting up the series. We are looking to have the characters upgrade in some way by having sponsors or something of that nature that will change their appearances down the road – so costumes are not OUT of the mix, just not in the now just yet. I want to make sure we don’t underplay the necessity of having the viewer grow attached to the characters as they will be sticking with us for a while in the series.

- The best part of this whole new platform is that the fans will have opportunities to help us with costumes!! Since we are starting with origin stories, there is a lot of time to develop characters and find the best costumes/looks for them. As for continuity issues at CtL, I for sure can’t say I was perfect so I am sure there were mistakes in some episodes towards the end – I was wearing way too many hats which unfortunately led to my missing things here and there (not an excuse, just an unfortunate occurrence), but I also want to ease anyone’s worry that this won’t be a very meticulously shot series as I want my first solo project as a producer to SLAM DUNK!

-Basically I am trying to make our episodes almost free for everyone to enjoy, but have to figure out a way to keep funding more episodes to keep going...my pricing structure isn’t going to be like the norm for this genre with the $1/min platform. Basically the way this is going to be structured is you will get the video for contributing, which would essentially be the same as you paying for it when it releases (but at a cheaper price). Does that make sense? I feel once the campaign begins, you will see the platform and understand that it’s not necessarily like Kick-Starter, but moreso a new way to get the videos...ALSO – after speaking with my creators, I think for those who choose not to subscribe through Patreon and want to still purchase the episode, the episode will be priced at the standard pricing structure of $1/min (making the films in the $15-$20 range). So instead of the $10 on Patreon, it’ll be $15-$20 (depending on length) AFTER the episode is released, possibly a month after public (Patron) release.

-I want to make sure everyone is aware that only contributions of $10 or more will get you a downloadable link to each episode. As of right now, this is the only way you can purchase/contribute to our episodes. Anything under will only get small perks but does NOT include the episode (unless you win the raffle). Just wanted to make sure that was clear so no one misunderstands anything.

-It will incorporate both f/f/ and f/m, but MAINLY f/f as of right now. The way Patreon is set up is you would contribute to each episode and when they release you will get a video download just as you did with theSuperheroines. There are going to be some perks that enable certain levels to get the videos on an early release schedule as well, As of right now (and things could change, this is still a brand new area for me) we will only be releasing 1 episode per month, so your contribution would go towards the newest episode each month. So a short answer to your question, yes, you would have to wait until the release to receive the episode. I’m hoping once I launch the campaign (hoping in the next 24 hours or so), the site itself will answer a lot of your questions.

-ALSO – I am also creating a SHIP Lounge, members only, on our site as a thank you to you all for being so supportive of our cast over the years. This is our way of giving back and providing you with exclusive videos, updates, etc. I’m setting it all up right now so will post the link as soon as it’s completed (I’m working like a mad woman today trying to get everything done lol ONE WOMAN MACHINE over here) lol. {Note: you can now link to it up at the top]

-1) As of right now, our pilot episode is going to be FREE to the public to view. I haven’t figured out if I’m going to have a subscription for the SHIP Members on the website yet for exclusive content, etc or if I’m just going to have the perks available through the Patreon Campaign. I’m trying to gain a subscriber & support base on there so it’ll help us continue the series. If I don’t get a good subscription base, then we’ll have to re-adjust the platform, but I’m trying to keep these episodes available for free for everyone and the contributors are able to get cool perks that I think will be incentive for them to stay on
2) The writers are ironing out the entire season as we speak and I know there is talk about upgrades in costumes etc.
3) This series is targeted to potentially be able to pitch to networks like CW, Netflix, etc, so we can’t have anything of that [hardcore] nature. It may be considered rated-R material due to some language and violence, but not necessarily “Skinemax” with sexual content.
4) I haven’t spoken with Samantha [Bogach] as of yet, but we are on good terms so it’s possible [she could be included].

[Note: I personally made mention of hopefully including Samantha and Kristy Dowe Burgeson. Guess we'll see.....]

Hi Everyone!!!

We are BACK! Kristina Hess here, you may know me from theSuperheroines and a few other action projects :) I wanted to make the formal announcement that I have officially started my own production company, http://www.OmniRisingProductions.com, and as a few amazing fans have already posted, we have filmed our pilot episode of our new series "CHAINED"!

*VIEW OUR PROMO TEASER TRAILER*

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmhBX7i7uWc

I can't tell you all how utterly excited I am to finally have my own "baby" and start it from the ground up and do it MY way in cahoots with some of the most amazing talent and crew Hollywood has!

I have created a "Members Only" page on our website where I will have some exclusive posts for all of you who have supported us as actresses through the years and have stuck by us :) http://www.chainedtheseries.com/ship-members. I apologize that I wasn't on this forum earlier, it's been absolutely INSANE with production, but I was so happy to hear from the moderator to come aboard and start chatting with ya'll!

I don't want to talk everyone's ear off, so I have posted the Member's Link which I will be updating this weekend (once I get my footage to my editor and start post-production!). I'm sure a few members can answer some questions you may have, but if not, the Chained website should have a good amount :) Also, feel free to check out the YouTube page that has a few videos up as well - we even have the LIVE FEED on there so you can see what we were doing BtS of shooting Sunday evening :)

Excited to hear everyone' feedback and again, so sorry I didn't jump on here before! Thanks everyone!!  :yahoo:

What Amanda says at the very end hits home the most.
SHAGOWGIRL was my favorite project from that prior company she worked for. The costume was perfect, she was perfect for the role, the villains were on point, and so much more could have been done with it.

It was so frustrating when the first Shadowgirl series came out in that it was sooo good but then the site got so way off course. To hear Amanda say that hit home because I always felt they had a home run there and simply did not take advantage of it. The way that company jumped around project to project without mastering one character eventually cost them.

I've learned something over the years....you can be a jack of all trades but a MASTER of none.

Shadowgirl was clearly a franchise brand in the making that could have been huge. Hopefully, the new superheroine Amanda talks about is along the same lines? I sure hope so because in my mind, there will never be a heroine as perfect as Shadowgirl and never an actress as perfect as Amanda to play her. Please Amanda and Kristina, bring her back one day. ((Maybe Kristina could be a sidekick or even a female villain?))

Good luck with the new venture!!!

Best 7 minutes I've spent in quite a while :)

So, bestie/roomie Samantha Bogach was on the other side of the camera... Is she going to be part of Chained?

Also, can't wait to see Amanda's original superheroine concept. Does that need funding as well? If it's something that's happening soon, would she make a thread about it on SHF?

Finally, Shadowgirl: does Amanda have the costume? It was already snapped up or unavailable by the time Logan started offering costumes so I'm hoping
she has possession of it as opposed to just some random fan.

Would definitely buy that calendar.

Unfortunately Shadowgirl died with theSuperheroines as CtL owns the rights to the character and costume - so I don't think we'll ever see Shadowgirl again :( Thanks for the well-wishes!!

As of right now, I haven't reached out to any other actors than the ones I mentioned or were in the pilot because I need to see if the storyline and series needs casting that they would match - but definitely not opposed to it!

I'm sure Amanda will be spreading the word the second anything is in motion with her new project and I'll be sure to help out wherever I can as well as she's like my little sister so I like to aid her in any way I can :)

No Shadowgirl costume :( And HOPEFULLY we can get that calendar idea going!

Hi Everyone!

So MONDAY (5/16) will be the LAST DAY you can pledge on our funding campaign for Perks that pertain to the PILOT EPISODE! After tomorrow, any pledges will pertain to the next release and NOT include any footage, photos, PERKS etc from the Pilot Episode filming. Pledges of $20+ will get our Behind-the-Scenes video that shows sneak peeks of scenes and the fight scene filming NOT shown on the live feed! Also, even though we are releasing the pilot for free to the public, only patrons will receive a downloadable copy of the episode. Monthly fan photos, Producer credits etc are all also available so be sure to get those in!

**Also, I wanted to explain that Patreon will NOT charge you monthly as they seem to lead Patrons to believe, you will ONLY be charged when we have a release or a major development and I will let everyone know BEFOREHAND so there are no surprises. So again, it will NOT be MONTHLY, it is at our company's discretion. You can also pledge once and once the pledge is collected, you can cancel your charge so that you will NOT be charged the next round.

http://www.Patreon.com/Chainedtheseries

We appreciate all the support thus far and can't wait to show you the finished PILOT!!!!! Oh - and don't forget to SUBSCRIBE to us on YouTube so you get the latest videos! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo3-W5 ... w/featured

Quick Update: Everyone has been super excited for the release of the pilot and I wanted to let everyone know that we received our first cut back and the episode is back with our editor for the second cut before heading to our master editor and music scoring artist. I'll keep everyone posted on new developments as they come - I'm so excited to get this out to everyone, but I want to be sure that we don't rush this and we get the best possible episode! :)

I have sent out the Behind-the-Scenes videos to those who pledged for that option a couple of weeks ago, I'd love to hear feedback on what people thought of it. Also, our first wallpaper photoshoot was completed a few days ago, so stay tuned for the release of that perk level to those who contributed for that one :)

The bloopers and fan photo are to be filled ASAP as well!

Thanks everyone! I'll keep ya'll posted on the next steps!

@Ripper - luckily you haven't missed anything - we took May to get our pilot edited and figure out our next steps for the rest of the season ;) I'll let ya'll know when we have something new up!

@xxxwarriorxxx - It's a possibility, but nothing has been formally discussed yet ;)

Hi Everyone! The Amanda Santella wallpapers went out to those with that perk and I'm dying to hear feedback ;)

Also, "Chained"'s pilot "Dante's Inferno" is in it's final picture editing stages - it looks FREAKING AWESOME! Then it will go to Sound and Scoring. My head editor is pushing things along now that he's back in town, so I'm hoping to get the episode out as quickly as possible as I'm sure the wait is getting tedious for you as it is for me!

Also, I can't disclose the company name just yet, but I am on board consulting for a new SHIP female producer and we have our first shoot in July ;) I'm excited to be helping a fellow lady producer and am helping to make sure she delivers what ya'll enjoy in your SHIP films!

Thanks for all your continued support!! <3

To my dismay, hadn't checked this thread in a while, and I see new developments so I have some questions, Kristina:

1) You mentioned a calendar with all the actresses. Will there really be a physical wall calendar one can buy? Consider me the first customer to send you money in an envelope.

2) When will the Cayla Black Q&A video go up?

3) There now seems to be a proliferation of "Amanda Santella" channels on Youtube. At least five, I think, and most with minimal content,
Which one(s) are actually her channel? I am kind of assuming this one is because it has a video of her dad, a short clip of her pole dancing in Vegas (!!), and the most videos (29 total).
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClhPua ... pq3KkkfkBA
But then there is also what I believe was her original channel "Amanda Monet Santella" which only has a handful of videos now, but mentions how she created "my character Carly Sin" and it has links to her instagram, facebook and twitter.
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCt5mzt ... 3GiYaKT8OQ
So both of those are hers and the rest are fan-made maybe?

4) So maybe you can't disclose the other female SHIP producer you are consulting with...but can I make a guess? Would it happen to be Coco (Ultimate Superheroines) since you're both in Hollywood and she had just started out with Foxwing? I understand if you can't say anything, though. If it's not Coco is it someone the forum is already familiar with?

Wishing all the best on the final process for "Dante's Inferno", can't wait to get it!!

@shevek - no worries, I've been really bad at updating as a lot of stuff is boring details involving post-production which wouldn't really be interesting to our viewers lol. BUT - that being said - we got our final cut back this evening from our head editor! Now, it's going to our Sound Engineer to fix everything and then to our Scoring Musician to do original scoring for the episode. As of right now, the episode clocked in at around 9 minutes, but is action-packed for sure! I am pushing as hard as I can to get it released next month (this has taken longer than expected, but I'd rather spend the time and make it PERFECT rather than rush it - esp since it's being released for free).

1- calendars - we haven't jumped into this just yet - our photographer has photographed 3 of the 8 cast members so far, so we'll just have to see if we decide to jump on that idea and if there will be a desire for it ;)
2 - Cayla is due for her video for sure - I know she leaves the country in a week or so, but let me see if I can get her on camera prior to then - be sure to get your questions in for her!!!
3 - I believe BOTH are her pages - I told her to create a personal and professional one and I think she wound up getting confused on which one she was logged in when she was uploading lol - she's my little special child haha
4 - Can't say just yet unfortunately - but very soon! We just finalized the script and casting, so now just getting our ducks in a row with crew and location ;)

Christina,

I think I can speak for a lot of people on here when I say ....we love you too !

You were stunning in every role you played before. To see you back in business and
hear you are working on a new superheroine role gives me chills. I am 100% behind whatever
you do and it will be an automatic buy on day one.

However, it is disappointing to see such a long delay for a project in which donations were taken.
Meanwhile, there is new content being released every day the old fashioned way =they make, we buy.

Also when I hear you talk about "graphic art, kickstarters, investors, and everyone
"being all over the place" it reminds me of why so many projects in that last company
you worked with never had a chance in the long run.

I know your goals and what it takes to achieve them are far more complicated than many of
us on the board will ever understand. But would it be possible to start simple and grow as you go?
Possible to hit a few singles and then a double before trying to hit a home run in every at bat?
Would it be better if the goal at the start is get it off the ground solid rather than win an Oscar?

When I hear of this project, I just want to see you, Amanda and crew do your thing and entertain
us the way you know how. My advice for what it is worth...start simple, grow your brand and then
add as you go rather than trying to be 100% perfect on the first try and then setting yourself up for
something that is delayed and possibly overhyped.

I am behind you and I know so many others are too.
I know you can do it because you are one of the most amazing talents in this genre.
Best of Luck!

Peter

PS-can't wait to see what the new superhero role is...hopefully the costume is similar to Shadowgirl...
the best heroine ever created!

Totally understandable response to the delay and, trust me, I HATE it myself. We had some hiccups that caused a few haults in production from an outside source that was unavoidable unfortunately which I can't discuss here. Also, we only got a very very small amount to put towards the pilot as we didn't give it enough time to actually build up momentum/a following, so I had to find outside sourcing and take from my own pockets to put it through post, which I wasn't expecting to do, so it took a while to get that through. No complaints, just having to adjust to circumstances. My team is absolutely amazing and they did above and beyond of what I was asking of them and I wanted to ensure I could pay accordingly.
The small delay now is completely on my end as I'm doing the tweaks etc myself as I can't keep asking for more from my team without giving them something in return. They are small, changing a quick shot or adding ADR to 1 word and putting in the credits. Everything else my amazing post team completed brilliantly :)
As the project moves forward, we are going to definitely be spending a great deal of time promoting/funding etc so that when we shoot the season, it will run smoothly and at the pace Im used to delivering.
I also want to clarify that as of right now I will not be acting in the new Superheroine project (sorry if my wording misled there), but I will be a consulting producer and possibly directing as well to teach the next generation of talent how to do it ;)
I appreciate all the support and also the feedback - if you're thinking it, that means more are as well and I like to opportunity to address those issues to avoid any bad taste.
Thanks again everyone and I'll keep you all posted!!!

Sorry to hear you won't be acting in the new superheroine production that you are also consulting on, but directing is a good role, and if there is a new generation of superheroine actresses because you led the way and are showing them the ropes, then more (super)power to all of them!

Watched 'Chained: Dante's Inferno'

For me it needs work. Kind of wish I could've seen the script before you shot it, cause it's my least liked part of this. There's talented people on your team, capable actors, but without good writing, well...just one persons opinion.

I couldn't get passed the 3 minute mark- it just didn't interest me.
A great looking cast but without any bonding to the characters I couldn't care less what happened to them.
It might have worked better if you showed the abduction, even in flashback (if thats what the fighting silohuettes were at the beginning as she comes too then without knowing one of them was her it didn't really work)
Good luck with it I hope it does well for you

@thescribbler - I mentioned on another forum that this is the promo pilot and a LOT of the dialogue and story development was cut out. We have decided to do the extended version as well as a lot of people are saying they WANT the storyline which is opposite of what we thought initially lol. Our editors felt pacing and keeping things fast-paced and short was the best bet. The writing is fantastic actually, it was just chopped up a bit to keep the "action" flowing.

@tallyho - This is kind of where I'm confused and I would appreciate feedback. You're saying you couldn't get past the 3 minute mark because you didn't know the characters, so would you have WANTED the longer first scene that explains a bit more then? If you didn't get past 3 minutes, how would I keep you to watch longer to get to know the characters? This is the question we were asking ourselves when editing as well so any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks!!

I think it needed context at a faster pace (for me anyway) Nothing wrong with starting with her waking up in that predicament but those three minutes felt like a lifetime without any idea of who she is or why she is there or who is doing it. It just reached the point for me where I just thought 'I got better things to do'.
Its a dungeon setting so the girls are grubby and sweaty which isn't a look I like (though some do) so from a visual aspect there wasn't much drive to watch it for me, BUT I can live with it if I feel its going somewhere storywise. I don't want everything handed to me on a plate - I like mystery- but as I say if I don't know anything about anyone involved I don't really care what happens to them .

I would have either had a flashback scene or more interaction with her fellow in mates. In those three minutes before I gave up what had I learned about the lead character that you hadn't shown me in the first 4 seconds - shes a prisoner in a collar in a cell with other prisoners. A third of the vid later and I knew nothing more than I did when it started

I've not heard term "promo pilot" as a thing before. I mean, I know what a promo is, a pilot is, and I've seen promos for pilots or for new series or new movies. So is this a promo for a longer pilot? Is this like the first 9 minutes of the actual pilot and the full pilot is longer than that, like a 22, 30, or 44, 60 minute series episode?

Not sure what you need a promo of pilot for. It's free on youtube. Releasing the full pilot seems the way to go. I'm glad there's more to it than this first 9 minutes.

Can't speak to your editors feelings on pacing or shortness, but then it's promo as you say. It didn't feel fast-paced to me, although I wouldn't say it dragged or anything. It feels like a long 9 minute first scene of a longer piece, and not a packed 9 minutes of say a short film or short web series episode.

Good to hear the writing is fantastic, look forward to seeing evidence of it. Hope the main character shows more backbone than is evident in promo length version.

The problem, for me, was that I didn't really care about any of the characters. So when the blonde girl dies, it doesn't mean much.

Amanda appeared to be playing the character we're supposed to care about and identify with. To give it more impact, I would have had the blonde being much more sympathetic to Amanda's character. Maybe have an incident where she gets to protect the new girl. It was kind of suggested with the food scene, but I felt there should have been more of a bond there. Then, when Amanda was forced to kill her, it would have been gut-wrenching for her character to have to execute the one person who showed her kindness. It would have given her a harrowing emotional journey to become a killer.

As it was, I didn't really feel anything for any of the characters. So seeing them fight didn't really mean anything as I didn't care who won or lost. It was just pure spectacle of fighting skill. Very good technically, but hollow emotionally.

It looked professional enough. I just feel the actresses involved were more than capable of delivering something that punches the viewer in the gut.

I hope this feedback has been constructive. I'll watch the next one in the hope there's a reason to like at least one character.

Given it another watch. Blondie seemed a bit more sympathetic to Amanda on second viewing. So maybe I was a little harsh in that criticism.

I still couldn't engage with the characters, though. Mainly due to the fact that we learn nothing - literally nothing - about any of them. Not even names. We just get very basic characteristics:

The nervous new captive.
The savvy blonde captive.
The unconscious "taught a lesson" captive.
The selfish, cynical captive.
The two unchained militaristic women. (Guards or 'trustee' captives?)
The besuited businessman who is getting women to fight to the death for reasons.
His henchman.

At this stage, we just have a bunch of one-dimensional characters. There's a bit of a mystery as to why the businessman is arranging Thunderdome fights. (Online streaming to a wealthy audience, perhaps?) But it's undermined if the viewer doesn't have a stake in who wins the fight.

To be fair, this is just the opening of the story. I would personally say that characterization was sacrificed in order to get a full fight in the opening episode. I would rather have seen nine minutes with engaging characters and then had the potential of a fight to the death presented as a cliffhanger.

I'm confusing myself and you all as well with the words "pilot" and "promo" lol. I guess I wasn't too too sure on what to call it because we aren't planning on the episodes being only 9 minutes in the actual series (more like 22 minutes - standard tv time), but I also didn't necessarily want to call it just a promo because, like you said, it wasn't just straight action/trailer-like. So, I called it a hybrid I guess lol. I will be releasing a Director's Cut version as soon as I can edit it - it's not MUCH longer as I'll probably have my cuts tighter than the original edit we had, but it DOES bring in some more character development that I'm hoping will help everyone attach a little bit more to at least Amanda and Heather's characters.

Amanda's character is supposed to be weak in this episode as we will be showing her development and backbone growing in the series - so I'm glad she came across as weak!!! ;)

What you wrote about showing Heather's character (Karly) being nice and sympathetic to Amanda's character (Sadie) is EXACTLY the piece that was cut out LOL. You WILL see that in the Director's cut ;) Funny that we're on the same page there!

Yeah I was at an impasse because a LOT of people get mad when there's story development and not enough "action/fight". On one of the forums, it was a negative comment that there wasn't enough fight and then the other half say there wasn't enough story development lol ::hair pull!:: I know people have different preferences, so hopefully with the small added Director's Cut the story people will be a little more pleased. As for the fight people - SORRY!!!! :(

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been so mia, I had a lot of things fall into my lap (good things) so I've been a bit busy :)

I know I mentioned a little while back about jumping on as a consulting producer with a fellow SHIP company and then never spoke about it again. Sadly, even after 2 years, I still have an enemy who actually contacted the company and told them insane lies and to fire me and bring them on instead. We began the consulting, but only did 1 meeting prior to their filming their first episode. Luckily, the company knows the situation and decided to stay on board with me and bring the incident to my attention with the message included. It's sad that 2 years later, I just can't seem to get away from the conman.

Either way, the company, Ultimate Superheroines, shot their first episode with minimal guidance from me and I feel it looks great for right out of the gate! They should be releasing soon so I urge you all to check it out! I referred some of my talented cast and crew to the episode and I feel they did a great job! I am jumping on board in full throttle after they get their first episode released and some feedback from the fans. I'm so so so beyond excited to get back into the genre as well as on these forums with you all!!

We are still ironing out the exact involvement details, whether Omni will be a part of it or just myself as Consutling Producer, but either way, I'm back and I very much appreciate all the love and support you all have given me through the craziness and appreciate you taking a closer look to make sense of what was really going on.

I am moving out of LA to get away from the situation for a bit, but will still be very much involved in production etc ;) Stay tuned and keep your eye out for Ultimate Superheroines, the producers are really great and are very honest and hard-working individuals :)
