Yeah, it's pretty good.

Silly, gorey, and there is sex in a ball pit. It's probably better than it deserved to be considering Twisted Metal is a really weird game series to dig up.

I kinda want to hear Samoa Joe doing the lines. Cuz He's Brilliant when he's allowed to talk on TV.

Yeah I'm surprised they didn't, I guess they wanted the clown to sound smart/cultured given his background. Not sure that wouldn't have been possible from the wrestler himself though, it's not like Will Arnett was doing anything spectacular with the lines.

"In a post-apocalyptic wasteland, John Doe... is given a mission to traverse the desolate world to deliver a cryptic package. He faces a life-altering opportunity but must confront ruthless marauders in deadly and destructive vehicles to secure a chance at a better future."

So...essentially DAMNATION ALLEY. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damnation_Alley_(film)
[Yes, two years before Mad Max. Thank you, Roger Zelazny.]

But seriously - thanks for the suggestion. I'd seen a hype-up magazine on the free-stuff racks at my local LCS last week (the one where we're doing our Comicsburgh showcase this Sunday) and I wondered what the hell it was since I really don't play video games or watch wrestling. The "leet-speak" titles of the episodes are funny, and should get zoomers excited, or anybody who watches far too much Tiktok and Twitch (I don't).

The cast with Mack, Arnett, and Church seems like it would be hilarious and we are due for a nice post-apocalyptic comedy to go along with the dozen or so other post-apocalyptic things that get released every year at this point, but I'm intrigued about the inclusion of Beatriz, from having seen her devastating comedy chops on Brooklyn 99, plus she can be quite sexy when a sassy dark-haired Latina minx is called for.

So....does she wear any tight Tarantino-esque catsuit costumes in this at all? Is there lesbian tonsil hockey? "Sex in a ball pit" isn't enough info.
And what does Neve Campbell do in the series as "Raven"? (without giving too much away)

I think I'll be watching "Quiet" and Mack in the first episode to see if I dig the Road Warrior vibe, though. Looking forward to some action!

She can't not be hot, so there's that. If I explained where the BDSM enters into things I'd be spoiling it. Suffice to say there is some.

It's less Road Warrior and more Death Race, which is older still than Damnation Alley and Sly Stallone's best role. Cast of larger than life characters in tricked out vehicles doing mayhem. Wacky Races with murder.

I love how the 70s are just full-on back, with bikers and demolition derbies and races across the country in super-large tricked-out trucks like Convoy
or whatever. Ten-four good buddy!

We still incredibly have Sylvester Stallone, he was in the Guardians III movie. Now all we need is a modern Evel Knievel!
(I guess there is the endless "Fast" series, but it's not really the same vibe)

(The only difference seems to be that we no longer have the sexploitation of a Russ Meyer or a Roger Corman. Or does this series remedy that?
Somehow, I doubt it. But I'll watch and find out.)

For sexploitation I guess there's whatever Euphoria is/was. I don't keep track of the porn substitutes because of course what they didn't have back then was hot and cold running porn.

I guess modern Evel Knievel is randoms doing stunts on the Youtubes and whatnot. Of course there was Ken Block too (RIP).

And instead of a fuel crisis threatening to bring down civilisation there's a climate crisis from too much fuel.

Watched the entirety of Season One. Yes, I saw the sex in the ball pit and the dominatrixes.
You really want to know what I thought?
