Did anybody like the new Flash Gordon on SciFi?

I know it's not superheroine, but I was just curious if anybody else thought it was rather weak. I mean Ming didn't look like somebody who should be called Ming, i.e. not even partly Asian! Dr. Zarkov, while a supposed genius, can't make his proton weapon work worth a tinker's darn! To its credit, the girls were kinda hot, especially Princess Aura and the bounty hunter at the end, but the girl playing Dale is no Melody Anderson! (But then again who is?) This is definitely not your father's Flash Gordon! We'll see if it gets any better, but I dont hold out a lot of hope. 8)
