Really..Astro City's superteam is now 50% black characters? Must be a while since I've read a new issue, then, because I've read most of the older Busiek TPBs (Astro City is pure genius, to put it bluntly) and the only black character of the Honor Guard was Cleopatra.... One of my favorite books about the comics industry is The Comic Book Heroes, by Gerard Jones and Will Jacobs. It's probably biased and inaccurate in the usual range of ways for such books, but it at least presents a pretty thorough look at the comics industry and the superhero genre from the dawn of...

It seems Sessions' plan is to enforce old obscenity laws that have never been repealed. Meaning that most of the SH Peril genre could easily be deemed 'obscene' using archaic laws that belong in another age. Both left and right do this. SJWs would gladly shut this genre down for "objectifying ...

Given the anti-porn plank in the 2016 Republican platform and Pence's leanings, I figure they'll have to take some action against porn. How much control can they hope to exercise over the internet? I guess we may find out.

There used to be a longstanding fan consensus that DC had the better characters, but Marvel had the better stories. That's a YMMV sort of idea, but I tend to agree with it. DC's characters work really well as ideas, but telling compelling stories with them may be more difficult. They've always been ...

I either favor that third person omniscient or I use the heroine as first person narrator. In the latter case, I usually try to emphasize the first person heroine as unreliable narrator. I usually prefer that a third person narrator not be a character or direct participant in the story.
