Fantastic Four (Marvel, 2025)

Nobody posted yet about the upcoming FF movie so here is the trailer. It looks pretty great!

Great retrofuturistic Jetsons/Mad Men vibe. And Vanessa Kirby is very hot. I think her costume will be tight. (popular female cosplay this summer)

Everyone's saying how Pedro Pascal falls short of the mark as Reed because he looks like a Latino porn star with his pencil-thin mustache and stubble (in the 60s, he should be clean-shaven), but pretty much everything else is on point.

Will Marvel somehow find a way to fuck this up?

The most successful movie in the last few years was Deadpool & Wolverine which they had the least control in the making after green lighting it to be R rated. There's so much room for them to mess it up.

We can see they spent money on the CGI, but what about the script. At least beyond a really big bad.

Maybe they'll use an outtake of Stan Lee talking to the Watcher?

Pedro would make a good Gomez Addams.

I just find it odd Ben Grimm is so short.

The last FF movie had two good things

Jessica alba's body and Julian MacMahon as DR Doom

Really? I have never found anything about her appealing. To each their own.

He's far too good looking to be Gomez. Gomez is supposed to be a weird looking guy.

I think he's an interesting choice for Richards, he doesn't look quite right for it based on the comics, but he's a brilliant actor and that's the main thing. He could bring almost anything to it.

Movies have a much larger cultural weight than comic books, so if he nails it he'll redefine how people see the character just like Wesley Snipes did with Blade.

Ebon Moss-Bachrach is a great actor too, feels kind of a waste having him voice a special effect.

The whole thing is pretty clever though. I'm guessing there's going to be some multiverse shit that was hinted at with Deadpool. Then we get Doctor Doom in the movie to follow this. Could it almost be a soft reboot?

Also, while I know there's probably some sort of background to Dr Doom, there surely has to be some temptation to have him as a multiverse alternative Tony Stark. Which is obviously possible because everything is because multiverse.

Downey doesn't want to do Marvel then he should just go away. No way does he have the gavatas to be Doom. He's too much of an angry, frightened child. And yeah, maybe some of us are sick of him too and the others as well especially the ones who crap on fans. Ruffalo needs to get lost and they need to redo Hulk but good this time. Johanson is over the hill. How can she cry about wearing that Black Widow suit then she does Ghost in the Shell and doesn't crab about that.

So sick of all of them. Make everyone trans and just get it over with.

I just read a report about the movie releases of this year. The piece mentioned Fantastic Four and The Smurfs, among others. There was a picture of the Fantastic Four, but my first thought was: Is this the F4 or the Smurfs? ;)

That FF pic reminds me of that 1990s movie they made just to hold onto the license.

The trailer for Fantastic Four has at the chalkboard scene mentioning the multiverse. Some speculation on how they could tie into the current continuity.

The Fantastic Four's rocketship shows up in the post-credit scene of Thunderbolts. It basically shows up on deep space radar as a UFO, and nobody in the MCU recognizes it.

So that's how they get from the 616 universe to the MCU.
