Hello all,

I'm looking to sell my movie but not sure which platform to use. DeviantArt has a 1GB upload limit and my movie is nearly 2GB. Producers, what's the platform you use?

Vimeo and Patreon claims you get to keep 90% of sales after transaction fees. Don't know how much those are yet? I'm also not sure what content is allowed on those platforms. My movie is NSFW, mostly because of the violent content with a small amount of sexual content (exposed female genitals).

Not willing to split it as it would ruin the continuity of the movie. It's only 12 minutes long, so I think it would deter customers from buying if I split it. Especially if I have to sell them separately. I probably would not buy a 12 minute video split into two parts. I could see maybe two 30 minute videos totaling 1 hour but not such a short video.

As for SHG, I have checked that out sometime ago but the contact email is a NetcodeMedia address. I don't know what that is, is that part of SHG or an unaffiliated platform for selling videos?

Yeah, I can understand your reluctance to split a 12-minute movie.

All I know for sure is that payments for their videos are made through Netcode.

Thank you. I've added 2 more minutes of footage of X-rated material. (Harley enjoys some lezdom domination while Batgirl is tied to a wooden table.) I was originally going to offer an R-rated version and an X-rated version which I may still do?

I haven't emailed NetCode Media yet but plan to, although I have some reservations. I've read some people do not like Netcode and some people have trouble with it outside of the US. Restrictions and requirements vary by country. Then there's also the bible-belt in the US which has heavier restrictions than where I live in the Northeast.

OK, I was able to compress the file considerably with HandBrake. I did not think I would be able to compress it to under 1GB but I was able to compress it to just over 500MB. I guess AI video can be compressed considerably more than live action video.

That's not ok to do, much less share online. Selling it is actually insane from a legal perspective alone.

If this was shared for free, they would probably be okay, if no ever pays money for it... probably never a problem. But you are probably right, this is buying a lottery ticket you don't want to win. Someone will be the test case for AI generated porn. DC and Robbie both have plenty of resources to make someone's life miserable. The likelihood of getting targeted is low. The most like thing will be a cease and desist letter along with a polite threat. But getting fingered to be the test case would definitely suck.

My guy, this is erotic content. It is not remotely ok to create porn of people without their consent and it never has been. The legality of the matter was a tangent.

Ok first, I used an AI generated image for my Harley character so any resemblance was not intended. Although some of the imagery in the trailer does resemble Margot. Most of the imagery in the movie does not resemble her as much (See screencaps).

The problem with AI is it generates images based on scraping internet databases and guesses with a high degree of accuracy what the most probable outcome should be. If there is any room for AI to interpret rather than follow exact instructions, it will return the highest probable outcome based on what it has learned. That's why AI models morph character's appearances if you don't provide enough information. Older AI models were plagued with random morphing because they don't understand instructions as well as newer models.

This particular movie is over 6 months old, I've done a few others since then. It took several months to create, edit and compile it into a finished product. I'm only a part time producer so it was done in increments when I had spare time. 6 months is a long time in terms of AI. AI Models and engines have significantly improved since I made that movie. My current project has surpassed my own expectations, in terms of realism the ability of the newer AI models to generate a high number of usable clips with less mistakes. The newer models cost more per generation but they have a higher level of accuracy and realism, thereby reducing the number of wasted tokens. I'm currently weighing the cost of local generation vs browser based.

Anyway, that movie is no longer for sale as I am no longer a DeviantArt member.

I didn't quit, they terminated my account. I had been complaining to DA support and billing about issues that were costing me sales, e.g. videos not loading, billing issues, etc. My customers were asking me about issues that DA support took months to resolve. Support tickets were taking months to be addressed and the support tech (I think there's only 1 for the entire site?) was not able to resolve all of the issues. So I started complaining in the "complaint" forum (which they have renamed) making my issues public. I don't think they liked that very much? I was also complaining about the influx of child porn being posted, calling DA the new 4chan. Those complaints disappeared when they renamed the forum. I finally got tired of the constant issues and sent a support ticket for a full refund of my 1 year subscription. Then one day I got an email stating my account was terminated for ToS violation. They did not explain what the violation was and they said it was not appealable. They also told me they do not issue refunds. I explained to them that refusing to refund fees for services not rendered was illegal and that I would be filing charges against them. Soon after, they issued me a full refund.
