EXT. HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL STADIUM - NIGHT

Beautiful fall night, sky is full of stars in the farm town of Smallville. From overhead, we see Smallville High School football stadium shining bright with stadium lights as a game takes place. The stands, only on the home side of the field, are full of people. Most wear red and gold of the hometown Smallville Crows, others wear the black and blue of the Granville Cyclones.

On the field, cheerleaders chant to the crowd but the camera focuses on the beautiful CLARE KENT.

(In unison but focus on Clare)

On the field we see the Smallville Crows walking to the line of scrimmage, lining up for a play.

LANDON LANG looks up and down the offense line for a moment.

The scoreboard shows the home score is 17, the visitors are 21 with four seconds to go in the fourth quarter.

LANDON lines up under center, he is the quarterback. He looks down the line and nods his head.
PETE ROSS, playing wide receiver, looks back at Landon who is off screen and nods with the cheerleaders and stands in the near background.

LANDON takes the snap, the offensive and defensive lines crash together.

A close up of on JONATHAN’s finger shows a championship ring reading 1990 with the letters QB listed on the side. The ring around the jewel on top reads “Smallville Crows, State Champions.”

LANDON throws the ball with the linebacker closing in. With a simple flip of the wrist, the ball flies through the air just as the linebacker tackles him from behind.

We see the ball as it spirals through the air, stadium lights in the back ground add to the drama.

PETE catches the ball as he crosses the goal line. He runs from the picture as the ref in the background signals touchdown with his arms.

CLARE and the rest of the cheerleaders freak on the sidelines as they rush the field.

PETE tosses the ball down as he rushes up the field.

LANDON who is pushing himself up from the ground. His arms in the air to celebrate his victory. The linebacker lays on the ground in disbelief.

In the stands, JONATHAN and MARTHA stand clapping along with everyone around them.

On the field, PETE jumps into the air as LANDON catches him in celebration. In the background, the cheerleaders are rushing toward the huddle of players as the coaches from Granville shake hands with the coaches from Smallville.

LANDON sits PETE down as he turns around, pulling his helmet off.

MARTHA looks on from the stands as Clare and Landon kiss. JONATHAN chuckles watching the teens while standing beside of MARTHA, who turns to look at him.

BRAD blind sides CLARE with the board. It splinters into pieces but she does not budge.

BRAD turns and runs, scared to death.

Through an electron microscope, LEX LUTHOR looks at a strange piece of metal with very tiny hints of a green sparkle to it. LUTHOR is just a young high school science teacher at the moment.

Finally, the word “Humanoid” appears as the android continues to scan the room until it locates the piece of metal in the microscope. The cross-hairs appear over it, “scanning…” until the words “Kryptonian Alloy” appear.

The JANITOR’s eyes narrow. He had just located what he was looking for.

INT. HIGH SCHOOL SCIENCE LAB

LEX gets up, walking to a coffee pot to pour himself a cup. EVE watches him.

(While pouring coffee)

We see the two DEAD BEATS still unconscious against the vehicles. We also see as we pan the parking lot, the third DEAD BEAT running.

CUT TO.

INT. BARN BASEMENT

JONATHAN turns a light on. There is a large space craft in the room with a couple cabinets in the corner as CLARE climbs down the ladder behind him. She stops and looks at what is before her.

A close up of the ship shows it is buried into the ground, like it had crashed there. It shows some wear and burns on it from passing through the atmosphere. Just beneath the glass cockpit is the symbol for hope in Kryptonian.

CLARE steps beside of JONATHAN, looking at it confused.

CLARE
What is this?

JONATHAN
About eighteen years ago, me and your mother had gone to see the doctor…

FADE TO.

INT. CAR – NIGHT

A young JONATHAN and MARTHA are driving down a long lonely highway.

JONATHAN (NARRATING)
Your mother had a miscarriage. We were devastated.

MARTHA is looking out the passenger window, trying not to cry.

JONATHAN is driving, looking just as upset. Neither of them are talking.

JONATHAN (NARRATING)
They told us she could never carry a child, and she wanted so badly to be a mother!

YOUNG JONATHAN turns into a drive way to see their brand new house in the back ground.

The car starts to shake as JONATHAN and MARTHA look at each other scared.

JONATHAN looks into the sky through the front wind shield as a burning ship flies past them and crashes into the ground behind the house.

JONATHAN (NARRATING)
We were on the road all day, and didn’t get home until after midnight. Just as I pulled into the drive way, the car started to shake. From out of nowhere comes this ship. It was so close to the ground we thought we could touch it. It flies over us, barely misses the house and crashes right here.

CUT TO.

EXT. KENT FARM

JONATHAN jumps from his parked car, leaving the head lights on as he rushes toward the smoldering wreckage.

We see the ship, the same one under the barn is buried into the ground in a deep crater.

JONATHAN rushes down the hole hearing a baby crying. He stops as, looking at the glass from the cock pit in the corner of the screen. His eyes open wide in shock.

We see inside the cockpit, a little baby girl wrapped up in a blanket. No more than a few months old.

JONATHAN (NARRATING)
I ran to see what it was, and found this. Inside was a little baby girl. It was the last thing I ever expected to find. That baby was you Clare.

We see JONATHAN holding the baby up as MARTHA now looks on from above. They seemed confused.

JONATHAN climbs from the hole with baby in hand to show MARTHA.

MARTHA reaches down to tickle its belly, but the baby takes hold of her finger like it is playing. It squeezes and breaks her finger.

JONATHAN (NARRATING)
I remember getting you out of the ship and carrying you up to see your mother. The first time you touched her, you squeezed her finger and broke it. We knew then there was something special about you.

CUT TO.

INT. KENT HOUSE – DAY

MARTHA is holding the baby at the kitchen table. JONATHAN brings in a Kryptonian box and sits it on the table.

He opens the box, and we see the Superwoman outfit for the very first time. Laying on it was a necklace with the Kryptonian symbol of hope for a charm.

JONATHAN picks up the necklace, looking at it strangely.

He leans forward, wrapping the necklace around the baby’s neck. The baby reaches up and takes hold of it. The charm starts to glow.

A projection of Jor-El suddenly appears in the kitchen with JONATHAN and MARTHA, it seems to be coming from the necklace. JONATHAN and

MARTHA jump up frightened.

We JOR-EL talking but cannot hear, as JONATHAN and MARTHA listen.

MARTHA is seen holding the baby, tears forming as she covers her mouth with one hand. She was about Krypton blowing up and why the baby was sent here.

JONATHAN (NARRATING)
The next morning, your mother was feeding you! We had already stocked up on baby products and built a nursery. I came in with a box from the ship. Inside of it was a necklace. We put it on you and this man appeared like a projection. He told us his name was Jor-El and you were from a planet called Krypton. They had sent you here to give you a chance to live. He said he picked here after talking to Thomas Wayne, the big rich doctor from Gotham City, somehow. He told us our yellow sun would give you abilities beyond our wildest imaginations. He warned us you could be a god amongst the people of earth but he only wanted a peaceful life for you. He called you Kel-El, and asked me and Martha to raise you.

CUT TO.

INT. BARN BASEMENT

JONATHAN and CLARE are standing side by side still as JONATHAN finishes telling his story.

CLARE steps forward, reaching out and touching the ship.

JONATHAN (O.S.)
I hope you can forgive us for not telling you yet, but I did not want you to grow up feeling alone. I wanted you to know you have family that love you and friends too! I was so happy the day Chloe and Eve came to spend the night the first time! You grew up never knowing any better, just innocent and care free. Just a girl, nothing else!

JONATHAN walks up behind CLARE, placing his hand on her shoulder.

CLARE looks down at the ship, JONATHAN beside of her in amazement.

CLARE
I’m not mad daddy, I think somehow I always knew there was something more.

JONATHAN walks to a cabinet near the ship. He pulls his keys from his pocket and begins to unlock it.

JONATHAN
I was so scared the government would show up one day, take you away! But nobody ever came, and I had to figure out how to hide this from the world. So I built the barn on top of it.

JONATHAN reaches into the cabinet, pulling out the Superwoman outfit.

He turns around with it in his hands.

JONATHAN
Jor-El said this belonged to your mother, and was a symbol of honor for your family. He wanted you to have it.

CLARE takes the outfit from him, letting it unfold in front of her. She looks at it up and down, unsure what to think.

CLARE
Can I try it on?

JONATHAN
Sure Clare, its yours! Besides, I figured you want some time to yourself down here.

JONATHAN walks up, kissing CLARE on the forehead as he hugs her.

JONATHAN
I love you, and I want you to know me and your mother are very proud of you!

CLARE smiles as JONATHAN slips from the hug.

She looks over the outfit again as he climbs up the ladder.

CUT TO.

INT. BARN – NIGHT

JONATHAN is leaning against the front left wheel of his tractor, his foot taping from a bit of nervousness.

He glances toward the open door way, as CLARE float up from the hole as SUPERWOMAN.

JONATHAN smiles a little, looking at his daughter.

JONATHAN
I really don’t know what to say right now.

CLARE lands, looking down at herself. Focusing on the logo on the chest.

CLARE
What does the S stand for?

JONATHAN
Jor-El said it was the Kryptonian symbol for hope! I always joked it meant you was our little super girl!

CLARE looks up and raises an eye brow.

CLARE
I’m not exactly a little girl anymore daddy.

JONATHAN
You’ll always be my little girl Clare!

CLARE walks up to him and hugs him.

CLARE
(Giggling)
Superwoman sounds better though I think!

Outside the barn we see three Kelex droids, not disguised but in their natural liquid metal bodies. The front one is the leader and speaks.

KELEX LEADER
Kryptonian, you are to come with us!

CLARE aka SUPERWOMAN and JONATHAN break their hug and look up in shock. CLARE’s eyes grow bigger, realizing this is what Landon was.

SUPERWOMAN
I’m not going anywhere with you! What did you do to Landon?

KELEX LEADER
Human male is still alive, kept safe in our vault. We have been ordered to return with you and your ship, by any means!

SUPERWOMAN steps in front of her father, pushing him behind her.

SUPERWOMAN
I’m not going anywhere with you!

KELEX DROID
Very well!

The KELEX DROID LEADER’s eyes glow blue as he flies toward SUPERWOMAN.

SUPERWOMAN charges through the air at him.

The meet each other, exchanging blows at the same time. SUPERWOMAN’s chin does not budge but the droid flies out of control sideways.

The KELEX DROID LEADER crashes through the side of the barn.

The other two droids hold out their hands, firing energy blasts toward SUPERWOMAN.

She flies through them as they explode on her chest, grabbing one of the droids by the neck, exiting the barn to the…

EXT. KENT FARM – NIGHT

SUPERWOMAN flies through the air and slams the droid into a nearby tree.

She draws back to slam a fist into its face as we hear wood cracking.

SUPERWOMAN turns to see JONATHAN in the barn, the other KELEX droid is blasting energy blasts at him. They bust through the back of the barn as they miss.

INT. BARN

JONATHAN is hiding behind his tractor as the KELEX droid walks closer, firing blaster shot after shot.

EXT. KENT FARM

SUPERWOMAN drops the KELEX she just buried into the tree and flies from the screen.

INT. BARN

The KELEX is walking forward blasting when SUPERWOMAN flies through, grabbing it from behind and tossing it from the barn to the…

EXT. KENT FARM

The KELEX stands up, just as SUPERWOMAN slams a punch across its face. Her hand passes through the liquid metal as the droid flies sideways.

SUPERWOMAN stands ready to attack again when a metal tentacle wraps around her neck from behind, squeezing tight. Her hands reach up, grabbing it.

The KELEX LEADER holds its arm forward, extending from the droid’s shoulder to Superwoman’s neck. The arm starts to shorten.

SUPERWOMAN turns as she is being pulled toward the droid. She struggles to get it from around her neck. Looking at the liquid metal arm, she blasts
it with heat vision, melting it in two.

The KELEX LEADER stumbles backward, a ripple effect from losing grip around Superwoman’s neck though the arm grows back.

SUPERWOMAN pulls the remaining part of the arm from around her neck. She steps forward, proud and ready to attack when she is tackled from behind by the other two KELEX DROIDS.

They struggle on the ground to hold her down.

The KELEX leader holds its arms out again, this time mental tentacles grow from every finger.

The other two KELEX droids are struggling to hold SUPERWOMAN down as the ten tentacles fly in and wrap around all three of them. The tentacles simply pass through the two KELEX droids like water however.

SUPERWOMAN struggles as she is tied up. The tentacles grow together, starting to form a cocoon around her.

SUPERWOMAN’s face is shown, her trying to break free as the cocoon grows to cover up her entire body.

For a moment we see the cocoon, completely formed around SUPERWOMAN. Has she been defeated? No, a powerful blast from her heat vision comes from the cocoon.

The KELEX LEADER goes flying again as the blast hits it. Liquid metal flies off of it like molten lava.

MARTHA KENT comes running from the house, holding a shotgun in hand.

MARTHA
What the hell is going on out here!

The two KELEX droids grab SUPERWOMAN by the arms from behind. She swings her arms forward, smashing them face to face. One falls to the ground at her feet. She flings the other one backwards.

SUPERWOMAN stomps her foot through the chest of the KELEX droid at her feet. We see it spark as it is destroyed but something green shines from it. A small piece of this green rock is stabbing into SUPERWOMAN’s leg.

SUPERWOMAN trips backwards but keeps her balance at first, choking like she is suddenly sick. She stumbles a few more steps before falling onto her rear.

The other KELEX droid stands up, looking to attack again as a buck shot from the shotgun passes through its shoulder. It looks down as the hole slowly grows back together.

The KELEX looks behind it.

MARTHA holds the gun up again, firing at it.

The KELEX walks through the shot to the stomach, the hole grows back.

MARTHA looks on in fear as the KELEX smacks her.

MARTHA flies into a nearby tree, slamming into it arm first.

The LEADER KELEX droid pushes itself up from the ground. It is damaged, sparks come from its arm and the liquid metal is deformed.

Through its android vision, it scans the area. The screen is on the fritz from the damage it has taken. The crosshairs locate the ship beneath the barn.

The KELEX LEADER flies forward.

It crashes through the side of the barn and through the floor.

SUPERWOMAN tries to get up again but stumbles forward.

The KELEX droid stands over MARTHA, holding its palm out as it is about to blast her.

SUPERWOMAN
NO!

Heat vision fires from her eyes as she screams.

The KELEX is sent blasting from the screen as it melts away.

SUPERWOMAN falls forward, even weaker as the foundation of the barn behind her starts to bust like something is coming from the ground beneath it.

INT. BARN

JONATHAN tries to run but the floor busts open, rolling the tractor over.

He ducks as it flips on top of him, trapping his leg beneath it.

EXT. KENT FARM

Clare’s ship begins to rise into the air, busting the barn to pieces as it does. It is no bigger than the tractor but the damage is enough to cause the barn to start falling apart.

SUPERWOMAN pushes herself to all fours as she watches with a terrified look.

SUPERWOMAN
DADDY!

SUPERWOMAN manages to stand and take over like a speeding bullet.

The barn collapses into a cloud of dust, nothing could have survived the fall except maybe Superwoman.

The ship flies off into the distance, fading into the night sky.

SUPERWOMAN has JONATHAN in her arms but crashes to the ground. The two of them both roll across the dirt.

SUPERWOMAN comes to a stop, looking into the air before her eyes fade shut and her head falls to the side.

FADE TO.

Excellent fight scene! I'm wondering if you flip the situation from Superman's origin story and actually have Clare lose her mother instead of her father. He's got a permanent limp from the event but the mother's fatally wounded from being thrown against the tree. Edit it so her back hits first instead of her arm. It's something different and you've built up her relationship with the dad more as it is.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to what's next.
