Looking forward to this. Might be good, might not. Seems to have some nice aesthetics carried over from the cartoon - should feel a lot more "original" than a lot of contemporary Hollywood sci-fi. Hopefully they'll have the walking tank thingy in it, and hopefully the 3d is good - it's not listed on realorfake3d.com yet. :/

I ended up liking the GITS movie. It's quite a bit pared down from the anime, but on the other hand, it has an actual sense of closure to its ending. And they do a good job with the supporting characters, particularly Batou. Batou is awesome.

It might not be the most complete and literal adaptation of the manga, but as a straight-up cyberpunk movie, it rocks.
