Chalk me down for trick or ultimatum. Outright losing a fight can be compelling, but I think SHIP is at its best when the heroine has the power initially but a ploy of some sort inverts the scales. I'm certainly also a fan of the heroine being defeated by pleasure - though that is more likely a consequence of the initial defeat.

It comes under the umbrella of trick - as will most things - but I'm also a total sucker for any form of seduction or brainwashing.

I like more realistic defeats, so straight up losing a fight doesn't get my attention much, especially if it's a powered heroine vs normal thugs. But tricks and ultimatums are great. Chloroform or special weapons are great, if used clever. Mostly in roleplay and erotic stories I want to see the heroine be an effective heroine for a little bit.

Kosh/blow to the back of the head, just when she thinks she's triumphant, like BG with King Tut in the 60s show. How I wished we had seen her sprawled on the deck

It depends on the heroine. If it's a plucky, not-so-powerful heroine, then an overwhelming, embarrassing defeat with chloroform or sleeping gas works well, and then they can sort of get a second wind if need be. If it's a powerful heroine, then some sort of clever trap from a weaker opponent, so the heroine feels all the greater shame for her loss...and will perhaps be a more compliant captive.

I've long kicked around the idea of a heroine (or maybe a secret agent or the like) posing as a hooker to get valuable intel on criminals, only for the easy pleasures of the lifestyle to quickly overtake and corrupt her. Never could work up the stamina to write it, though...

Maybe not hooker but I know when I go undercover in a seed strip club... Fuck...

Hmm.. I usually like it when the heroine’s defeat gets exposed to the public. Then the public starts to lose their trust in the heroine and starts insulting her. Thus making the heroine lose her will to fight for justice anymore.

My favorite combination:
Outnumbered + Beatdown + Pain

Overwhelming superior numbers and/or incapacitating trap and/or ambush + then chloroform or other KO

I think it very much depends on the heroine and situation.

For me personally, its a mix of a trick, well planned trap, and exploiting a specific weakness. For my favorite superheroine, Supergirl this would involve Kryptonite. Wonder Woman though has a good example with the classic Fausta trap, so using chloroform. Of course can also mix it up, maybe there is an ancient artifact which can weaken Amazons.

There's also the allure of the heroine meeting someone stronger or more powerful than them. Batgirl being defeated by someone whose a better fighter. Supergirl captured by a foe with powers able to match hers. Bonus points in my book for this one if the villainess is created or trained specifically for defeating the superheroine.

Yes. Nothing more embarrassing than a highly skilled crime fighter getting dropped by a low level brawler who got a lucky shot on their chin.

I'm always up for a good chloro scene. There's something so intimate about it watching the heroine wriggle her spandex clad body against a foe as he grabs her and causes her to pass out.

Also into the idea of bondage with brainwashing and VR as a way to do that while the heroine is physically stimulated outside the VR headset to match what she is actually experiencing on the headset. This is an area I think more SHiP producers could take advantage of.

Imagine sneaking up on Batgirl as she was using her VR machine on her bed and then capturing her and switching the video to something more sinister and kinky...

I love it when the superheroine slowly succombs to a drugged drink, poison lipstick or lips, chloro injection, drugged perfume or some kind of dust or powder...

If its mixed with female seduction and the villainess is wearing latex or rubber, Im in heaven !!

I believe you can tell why I loved watching Julie Newmar's Catwoman so much when I was growing up !

I love seeing all techniques, but my favorite is a non-bloody beatdown!
I also love seeing beautiful, scantily-clad or naked heroines getting zapped unconscious by ridiculous-looking occultic critters. Or by nonsense-sputtering nerdy villains clad in silly costumes. (Anyone who has ever taken a look at my Deviant Art gallery knows this, already.)

I'll also say I do really love a good hentai scene. Watching a glamorous heroine tangled up in slimy tentacles that are rubbing her all over in places she cannot get to with her hands occupied elsewhere is very arousing. On a similar note, spread-eagle bondage scene with chains a la Lynda Carter or Melissa Benoist will always get me too.

I always enjoy watching a hot athletic world famous superheroine dressed in a tight spandex leotard costume arriving at a warehouse on her routine patrol to be confronted by a large number of criminals that she has been looking for a long time. Instantly the superheroine declares they all must be brought to justice for their crimes, a second later her powerful display of super powers knock them all down harshly onto the floor.

Standing bold in a power pose thinking she has them beat, suddenly a steel door slams open as a massive amount of thugs walk through attacking her with all kinds of weapons. The superheroine continues her powerful display of amazing fighting abilities and super powers dominating for a while, but due to the numbers a thug is able to get in close and remove her power belt. A few moments later the mighty superheroine is overpowered with costume destruction and knocked out cold on the floor spread-eagled...

I'm with rogeer. I love to see a superheroine absorb some punishment like described above, manage to withstand it, only to have her succumb to the drug or other. I'm especially fond of seeing them regain their confidence, only to have it dashed just before they conk out.

More succinctly, I love defeats that are both the physical and psychological.

Love this idea, to take it a step further I love the idea of being defeated and left bound in a very public place, exposed for all to see. Completely humiliated.

To answer the OP I think it depends on the heroine and situation. My personal favourite is a good old fashioned beat down but I also love sleeping darts, gas and chloroform. A fiendish trap is also good, who doesn’t like to be ensnared in a net!
If the superheroine has powers then something that slowly drains her power and weakens her is also great.

My favorite is pleasure and you can mix a little bondage in it. Superheroines are suppose to have a pure image, but they have sexual desires as well. They certainly do not want to enjoy pleasure from a villain and I love it when they give into the pleasure from a villain.
