Is it just my computer or has the chat function completely disappeared?

No I took it offline briefly to help troubleshoot the logging issue.

How briefly? Mine still isn't working.

It was working for about a day and now it's not again.

Refresh your pages.. Shift +F5 Let me know if it's still not working after that

Control+F5 but sadly, no. Did not work. Nor did clicking on the refresh icon near the upper left corner by the url bar.

OK I will refresh the cache

MH -- just a note -- the blue chat function bar still appears on the bottom of the screen even when I'm signed off. That's never been the case before and may be a clue as to where some of the problem may lie in regard to fixing the problem?

Yikes! Chat function was back for half a day and now at 10:32 pm Friday night here on the US Eastern seaboard, it's gone again. Sigh!

I will have to find another solution, then. It's becoming more trouble than it's worth.

I'm sorry I'm a nag about this, MH, but I feel it's an important aspect of keeping this community together. The give and take rather than just static comments on the threads.

Well, let me know if it comes back, because the code is there...I don't know why you aren't seeing it.

It came back for about half a day, now it's dropped again.

I keep getting the little sound announcement that I have received a chat message but cant see it

Hmmm anyone else having this issue? I dont seem to have it happening to me. Is this with the light or dark theme?

Its the dark theme and there is (or was) a message there. BUT MY RECENT CONTACTS list on chat didnt show it except as a brief flash and then it disappeared before i could click on it. The only way I could get to see it was to message the individual member and then load earlier chats.
Its not the first time its happened. There doesn't seem to be a way of clearing the recent chat conversations and there are some listed going back months that should be superceded by a current chat but don't seem to be

The SHF forum tab is alternating to show the forum address and NEW MESSAGE every few seconds but I cant see anything visible in CHAT
