Female Zorro

The WB is going to come out with a female Zorro

https://crafty.diply.com/150293/sofia-v ... a-female-z

This is at least the third time this has been done

Linda Stirling did a version in the 1940s

There was the Queen of Swords

Whenever I see a sword base hero or heroine, I feel they need to be able to use a sword. It may be the martial artist in me.

One of the reasons I thought the Highlander was far better than the movies was Adrian Paul could use a sword

Robert Rodriguez on board could be promising, he's been doing good stuff with Star Wars lately.

Uhh.. it will be the same thing every CW show is. Only good show is Superman.

Yeah, not everyone will like that news, but I'm very happy and excited that this still moves forward.
If they get a good actress, costume, and mask....this could become Queen of Swords 2.0 ;-)
Even it will be VERY difficult to improve on that show...especially when it comes to unmasking peril.

Everything the CW does, except for Superman, becomes a pride parade.

A hot masked brunette latina in black with knee high boots and a whip???? WHO wouldn't want to see that??? Especially if she has a tight little blonde sidekick!

Yeaaahhhhhh we're not getting that. I'm rooting for a trans woman.

I would be very surprised if CW "studio executives" let this be anything a human being would enjoy. Apparently "CW" is for sale - perhaps those making the shows are hoping for some reward from the future buyer for driving the price down.

Hopefully this will be successful enough that there will be a decent porn parody of it.

For a moment, I was hoping this would be a Lady Rawhide reboot. Ah well…

Understandable - gentle reminder that Stargirl is good, too - probably because of the supervision of Geoff Johns.

But yes, everyone is saying that Rodriguez is going to f--- this up. Guess we'll see. Just keep your expectations low, and if there
is somehow a tight costume and a nice mask, you might be pleasantly surprised. But probably not.

Learned my lesson with Supergirl. If it starts out decent, enjoy it while it lasts because it won't stay that way for long.

A *contemporary* Zorro -- so, Batwoman?

Will it be an energy sword or a nanotech collapsing sword?

What brand of motorcycle will they ride?

In what episode will the fictional world discover that Zorro isn't a dude but a lady? My guess is episode 6.

Hang on? It's contemporary?

That's bad.

Nobody has a sword now. You can't heroically fight people with a sword if nobody else has one. You're just stabbing people.

Well maybe its a world where guns are illegal and so the criminals can't buy guns so the have to use swords because having an illegal gun is illegal.

(ducks).

Sure you can! I for one can think of nothing more heroic than getting shot to death by my enemies while attempting to outclass them with antiquated and inferior weaponry! If she can succeed as a heroine with a sword in a world full of GUNS then it's plenty heroic!
........
I mean it's not very EXCITING cause you can't have an epic sword fight with opponents armed with guns...
You also can't really have any epic horse chases on the top of a train or something when your enemies all have cars and shit anyway...
No cute bond betweeen mount and their heroic steed......
huh.........

Can we just have like... a higher budget Queen of Swords or something instead please?

True. Batman doesn't use guns. Green Arrow used arrows. batwoman doesn't use a gun. Its the CW...

And I'm sure there will be some ancient lost art of spanish sword bullet deflection taught to the girl (or she magically Rey learns it in a few days with a montage).

The power of the montage ought not be underestimated. I mean Professor X learned to curve bullets inside of the mighty montage I guess sword deflection can't be THAT hard can it? xD

Lots of possibilities there, especially if the villains or the heroine has some skill

Imagine an erotic version with some bdsm of the Banderas Joline duel from Zorro

This sounds like it’s going to suck. I will stick with Shauna O’Brien as Zorrita. ;)

I hope this comes out well. Catwoman only uses a whip. Rodriguez gave us Katherine Zeta-Jones fighting Banderas and Sin City. The mask used in Queen of Swords was sexy as fuck. There is really nothing to say this will suck. It totally May, but Rodriguez has a good track record he even has super hero productions like Sharkboy & Lavagirl. If their is someone that can pull it together, it’s him.

Personally, another gangster in a suit with heavily armed thugs is boring as fuck. It sounds more like a school administrator in 2022 than a master criminal. Let’s get back to arch criminals that use knockout gas and slow but artful deathtraps…

He also gave us Boba Fett... but he brought his best spy games to that...

If he brings his Once Upon a Time in Mexico with him he makes good stuff.... but when he brings his Spy Kids to the table.....

Female Zoro ought to be more of a Once Upon a Time in Mexico production but who knows! Colorful biker gangs inbound.

Queen of Swords was sexy but her swordsmanship was awful.

Will there be actual duels to the death?

You are on the money about the Queen of Sword’s mask. She was a stone cold fox.

Not sure if the CW version of Zorro will ever come to pass, but there is a Zorro TV series on Amazon Prime produced in Spain, and I haven't seen it discussed on this board, it seems.

While the main character is male, up to a certain point, there were actually two Zorros in the show, and the "pretender" is a female Native American. Zorro's love interest is quite stunning as well, and while she's quite capable, she still does get into a few scrapes of her own, though not exactly there as a damsel in distress type of character.

Anyone here seen this show?
