Whether in peril porn vids or in general audience vids, the use of some type of sound device could take Superheros down in less than a secomd. This sound device would scramble and disrupt the heros brain activities

This would require some technical knowledge to know what decibel to use. And could it be transmitted what distance from its source.

A second idea on the use of the "Decibel Machine" is it could use all cell towers in the country and world.. In this way the flying heroes cannot fly out of range, line of sight, of the transmitting towers.

The annoying sounds can be very problematic when I'm Venom, however now I should be aware of this also when I'll lift off next time as Superman!

It has been used. I've seen Banshee wreck Supergirl for example.

Can't remember the exact issue, but when Max Lord took over Superman and WW fought him she basically boxed his ears with her bracelets and the sound nearly crippled him. I want to say Black Canary tried something similar in Injustice but I honestly don't remember much.

The Superman and Lois series Pied Piper crippled Superman for a bit with sound.

It hasn't been used very often though, its worth revisiting...maybe a special transsonic tone that'd put Supergirl in a coma...

It's true, the hearing is an avenue that could do with more exploring. In the Supergirl series there was an instance where I think Vartox sent a transmission that was a little painful to hear, though not intentionally. Silver Banshee did draw blood with her scream and Mercy and Otis used it to distract her before firing on the ankle binders. I think even Lillian tossed a sonic grenade, or a sort of high tech flashbang at SG in one episode.

In mainstream peril... maybe if you sent irritating little whispers at a "Super" you might be able to slowly drive them mad in frustration.

In sexy peril I've already explored the idea of verbal humiliation or domination turning SG on (because in that series she's into it anyway) and the sort of subliminal ultrasound messaging shaping SG's dress code in one of my Snapshots of Villainy (with Lena) got very well received over at Deviant Art.

I'm using that in a story I am working on at the moment

@Damselbinder Do you think, that while the villians are trying to learn what decibel would best work at bringing down the kryptonians, the kryptonians would pick up on the changes in decibels coming from someplace, and create their own or have some one create an ear device to protect them from what the villians have tried to build.

Actually I think the whole premise of this thread is nonsense. I'm sure a Kryptonian's eardrums (etc) are just as invulnerable as all the rest of them. The fact that they can hear sounds over ludicrous distances and so on doesn't mean loud sounds would hurt them. Just because you can hear it doesn't mean it damages your hearing. Do they go blind looking into bright lights because of their excellent sight?

Kind of reminds of that TV series the Sentinel where he had super senses but someone was able to sneak up on him and put a gun to his head.
