The article states that the movie is to be a musical of some sort? Seems odd, even with Lady Gaga in the movie. That said, she is an impressive talent and her role in the movie alongside Joaquin Phoenix would make quite the sequel (imho). Hopefully the writers are up to the challenge--the origin story of a character is usually the more interesting one; the follow-up stories seem to fall short. Perhaps the sequel could be a combination of "The Killing Joke" and the tragic events in that story along with an origin of Harley Quinn.

The perfect person to play that role, I LOVE Lady G!
