Actor Henry Cavill may have to wait a little longer to play 'Superman' as the makers of "Man of Steel" reportedly are not thinking about the sequel. According to media reports, James Gunn and Peter Safran’s future plans for the DC Universe do not include "Man of Steel 2".

In fact, some reports suggested that the studio could be shutting down Cavill’s Superman sequel altogether. The Hollywood Reporter mentioned in a report that DC Studio’s debating internally whether to retain the Super ..

I mean if they weren't gonna get on it sometime in the past decade they were never gonna.

Who even wants a MoS2 at this point? DC looks to be on the verge of giving up any chance of a cinematic presence.

True though Cavill not being available may have something to do with it. Then again you don't need Cavill.

The vibe with DC is like they are trying to shoot movies on the deck of a sinking ship.

Time to reboot the whole damn thing. A decade of mostly mediocre movies with just a couple of highlights is more than enough of a chance.

or, like westerns, give it up for a while. Fundamentally they can't tell a good story anymore so its pointless. Black Adam was ok but hardly a good story.

I'm honestly ready for the reboots... the MCU is gonna keep churning out stuff and frankly... until they get past this stupid multiverse arc it's all gonna be crap.

Multiverses are shit, fight me!

They could take a break for a decade or two then come back on a lower deck where they don't feel like EVERY superhero move has to be about cities collapsing and earth about to explode... in fairness... I'm not sure the western example is a parallel... People these days have grown up with and remained dedicated to superhero fandoms from childhood to middle age, they aren't going to stop being fans of the medium in quite the same way the Western's rise and fall to near complete obscurity... but I think it's time for SOME kind of a break.

Honestly don't think anybody is going to go to battle for the cause that multiverses are good. They're the last ditch desperate move of people who can't balance the continuity in the universe they created.

When a multiverse appears, it's time to give up.

Multiverse, time travel and nanites.

Time travel can work. Nanites are a grey (goo) area. Multiverses are much worse. There's levels of badness at work.

The only thing that halfway succeeds as a multiverse show is Rick and Morty, and only then because it embraces the inherent nihilism of multiverse theory. But even then it really improved the most by getting rid of them.

IMHO, DC comics ruined multiverse stories with their Crisis on Infinite Earths maxi-series. Honestly, if 14-year old me could handle multiple Earths, why not keep them.
I enjoyed where you can have stories about the JLA and silver age heroes(Earth-1), one where you can have the golden age heroes like the JSA, All-Star Squadron, and Infinity Inc(Earth-2), one with the Shazam Family(Earth-S), one where the Nazis win but have Uncle Sam and the Freedom Force fighting them(Earth-X), one where the all the superheroes turn out to be baddies(Earth-3), or our little world(Earth-Prime).
I HATED when DC tried to merge them. It just made a mess of everything.

Honestly, I'm more irked by nanobots. It's just an excuse for production companies to use more cgi while having no scientific know-how. If you ask, I can go further into a nice diatribe.

My 2 cents.

Once Ironman went to nanites it was pretty much over. Nanites = magic. And it destroys gadget porn.

Or the Transformers movie with nanobot Decepticons? Bad enough with the sluticon! :w00t:
Next we'll have Skynet be the "Daddy" of the Decepticons?

I agree with this 100%.

One of my small laments about the Marvel movies is that they did so many big stories that we didn't get a lot of ordinary stories. We never got a Captain America movie where he just fights a bunch of villains from his rogues gallery. A bunch of Iron Man's greatest story lines like Armor Wars and Demon in a Glass Bottle were reduced to single scenes or minor plot threads in Iron Man 2.

I would love to see DC do a short run-up to a Justice League 2 movie that's just a rumble between the JL and the Legion of Doom.

There already was a Terminator/TF crossover comic. You know what? It could have been worse.

Cavill seems to be doing a Warhammer 40K series for Amazon now. The man is living the nerdiest life.

Not sure how true this is but imagine if Gadot had a show and she refused to do skin scenes or sex scenes or show booty... nobody would complain and they would probably applaud her. He touches NOBODY, harasses NOBODY, no sex or objectifying and nobody asks his female costar to go around in bikinis or showing skin... and he's a bad guy.

Sorry but equality is a two way street. No naughty fun for men... no naughty thirsty fun for women.

Hemsworth also complained about his scene in Love and Thunder. Cavil was shirtless for 20 or so minutes in Justice League yet people complained about a 5 second pan past Gadot's booty and a 5 frame clip of her skirt popping up to reveal granny panties.

"gamer talk" WTF? The guy literally is exactly what SJWs demand. They want a NO METOO hollywood. Well this is what it looks like. Why should women and gays get their naughty, thirsty fun.

And he's probably the only person on that set who read the books and played the Witcher game.

Good going Cavil. I applaud you sir. Keep it up. Say NO.

Please read the tweet and the complaints listed. You apparently didn't read it.

"he didn't want any romantic scenes at all. No kissing. No shirtless scenes"

How is that a complaint? Disagree with women is not an issue.

Ok then explain what the issue is. What is the big bad complaint? Or is this some cryptic - only the woke can see it - used car salesman nonsense. I also can't read tea leaves and weegee boards.

No complaint this time. I asked, and you answered.
