Also the single season of The Invisible Man" among other roles. Truly a great actor and gentleman.

His novel, "The Was a Crooked Man," proved write what you know where the protagonist is an actor. A funny book about trying to retire and the problems actors face.

I think it ran only one season. He was permanently invisible and wore a rubber mask and gloves of himself as normal. Not like that other show where the guy had a watch that activated his powers for 15 minutes.

Of course, he was invisible...

Seriously though, I know more modern audiences would know him better for NCIS as the eloquent and noble (but sometimes rambling) pathologist but really was a good looking and dashing young man in his day...
