I live 15 minutes away from the TD Garden and work across the street from it.

It wasn't a great series. Once the Knicks were eliminated I lost interest pretty quick.

But one can celebrate a team that works together and sacrifices for the goal

Its not like the Knicks are important in basketball anyway

Whenever someone says the NBA is fixed, I ask why the Knicks haven’t won a championship since 1973.

Games not so much

But I think the draft where the Knicks got Ewing was.

Lot of good that did them.

What makes Patrick Ewing's selection in the 1985 NBA Draft such a pivotal moment for the New York Knicks?

It was the first season where they had a draft lottery and most people think they froze the envelope so Stern would pick it for the Knicks

Stern wanted the Knicks to be important most NBA fans despise them , the owner the celberty fan and the fact they actually have the audacity to call MSG: The Garden

Speaking of Ewing, I remember stories of the 1992 Dream Team, Larry Bird and Patrick Ewing got along famously, they were inseparable, a nice little friendship emerged there. Other players nicknamed the duo "Harry and Larry". Speaking for a ton of Celtic fans, I don't think we were fair to Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown when they first came into the league, we weren't patient enough, we demanded and expected titles right away and when we didn't get them, the crazies want to trade either Tatum or Brown. They just weren't ready yet. I think coming up short those years informed a lot as to how Tatum and Brown matured and improved as players and used those failures as motivation to climb the top of that mountain. Finally, I would be remiss in not bringing up the invaluable contributions of Porzingis and the backcourt of Derrick White and Jru Holliday, who in their first season together played like they had been together for 10 years.

Bird and Ewing formed a friendship partialy because they were more introverted than the rest of the team.

Sports fans impatient? It took time and the team had to be healthy. People forget that Tatum sprained his ankle game 7 last year and this was a team effort and if they sign White they have a solid core
