Yeah, 2 masked female characters in the trailer (starting at 1:30)
One seems like a real mask :-) ... the other is some fantasy, magic mask :-(
So, at least 3 ass-kicking women in this one.
Surely will watch this one, finally a new Marvel movie that really interests me.

Pretty sure that's Ghost, the antagonist from Antman and Wasp. So not magic, just part of her phasing powers.

Yeah, that is Ghost.
But I prefer "real" masks that aren't conveniently conjured by any power/magic/fantasy.
Still, she looks great, with and without it.

I'm pretty sure her mask IS real, she's just using her powers to make all of herself phase. But once she's not using her powers the mask is just solid and normal. Wasn't there at least one scene in Antman and Wasp where she takes it off in a hurry?

I wasn't expecting anything from this one, and I must say the trailer looks promising.

The jokes landed and Florence Pugh seems to be once again doing the job.

Hopefully, this one will finally setup something cool...

I'm sure many people already know this, but these Thunderbolts aren't the team created by Kurt Busiek 25 years ago.
They don't have a single member in common.
When I first heard about this movie being developed, I resolved that I wouldn't pay to see this movie if Moonstone wasn't in it.
So, I won't *pay* :)

What this team is, is the brand-new version of the Thunderbolts created only last year (2023) for the comics by Kelly and Lansing: a team of all-espionage heroes, who were not necessarily all outright 'villains' in the past (which was the whole point of Thunderbolts) but rather operatives who worked in the grey area.

And, as if to literally prove that point, everyone's costume is bland and grey. This is nothing new for Marvel, of course, but in general, I'm not excited about an aesthetic which takes the bright red and blue from comic book costumes (US Agent, Guardian, etc) and simply flattens it out into boring and colorless.

In addition, I'll once again point out the complete lack of beauty. The women are short-haired, dour, shapeless, and/or face concealed.
I'm sure you can argue otherwise but you'll have to create a naked AI version of Florence Pugh to make it stick. Go right ahead.

The Contessa's statement is very much facetious. But yes, I'll *watch* this when it becomes 'available'.

The thing with comics is that you can rip off Suicide Squad and it's fine. You can't really do that in the movies. So they couldn't be a bunch of actual villains.

First decent looking Marvel film trailer in a good long while honestly.

For those unsure, the lineup is White Widow, Ghost, Task Master, Red Guardian, Bucky, and the temp 'Captain America' from the Falcon and Winter Soldier show.

I'm a little surprised how many of these are from the same films. Widow is connected to both Red Guardian and Taskmaster both from the Black Widow movie... Bucky and the 'captain' know each other from the TV show, leaving Ghost as the only odd one out as an Ant Man villain, whose the only character from a film with a wildly different tone than the rest, but her character itself in that film wasn't so tonally different so I think she still fits. The only question being now if 'Bob' is one of the team or the villain or just a 'force of nature' disaster the Tunderbirds need to clean up.

I'm actually hopeful for this one. Even the characters from some of the 'lesser' products here are characters that had good ARCS in their prospective thing (sans maybe Taskmaster, who will hopefully get to have an actual character this time) 'discount Captain America' in particular was a much more nuanced character than expected in the Falcon and Winter Soldier show.

Anyway, here's hoping the film is as promising as the trailer was. Marvel really needs to be getting it's shit back together. If the film's quality matches the trailer here, maybe it could be a sign that the suits behind the desk are putting actual effort back into the franchise.

Be careful, the Karma Police is watching...

I agree that both the male and female are not portrayed in the most iconic fashion.

You'll have to settle for Cap's ass in the meantime...

Florence Pugh, Hannah John-Kamen and Olgy Kurylenko are all super hot. And at least for Hannah I can attest, that it's not just true on the screen. I once met her at a convention. A very beautiful and nice lady.
I am looking forward to this movie (though I won't watch the trailer, to avoid spoilers).

FWIW so far at least the trailers haven't given it away yet.

They're all super hot, but you wouldn't know it from watching this trailer. Pugh still looks cute I admit. It's a waste of charisma and beauty.

Why do they make these gray, drab, grounded, boring looking movies though? Of all the genres, why is "superhero movie" somehow the most colorless? Whoever is greenlighting these should be forced to watch RRR every day. If you're going to go through the trouble of casting beautiful actors, show off their beauty!

Even Red Guardian? :hq:

Florence Pugh definitely is fire! She could pull off crocs and socks and still look amazing.

But I'm one of those idiots who loved the multi-verse saga. Yeah. All of it. No, not Secret Invasion. Come on.

So I will valiantly place my dick in harms way, and if any of these women in the movie strip naked and throw themselves at us, collectively, as a group. I will fuck poor ugly Florence Pugh. I will save all of you from this horrendous fate.

When you speak of me, remember my sacrifice.

I was going to post the insane clip of Florence fucking Cillian in a room full of people from Oppenheimer, but my gifs are so awesome they keep crashing the servers and I would hate to deprive everyone of these great conversations.

I have rule now that If I don't see who the bad guys is or any sign of a final fight then I'm leaning on not watching.

I see that at least three of the characters have the same power sets. Bucky, Crimson and Walker all are super soldier enhanced. So not much variety. This would have been an opportunity to put in a better She Hulk for example.

To be fair, there have been multiple lineups of the Thunderbolts over the last 25 years.

The original concept, a team of supervillains who present themselves as a new team of superheroes to fill the role of the Avengers while they are missing in action, is a great one, and it's a shame that Marvel didn't use that version.

What this team is, is the pick of the MCU sidekicks and supporting cast who were still available after Endgame.

As always, it will live or die based on the quality of the script. If we get a Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) with half the personality of her cameo in the Hawkeye streaming series, I'm there and I'm buying the Blu-Ray.

Based on the trailer, it could go either way.

Just judging by the trailer, I'm guessing Bob is Sentry, and that he's the 'villain' as sent to kill them on Elaine Benes's orders to cover up all the black ops she's sent them on.

That's my first guess anyway.

Sentry would manifest the Void so it would probably be the void they fight.

What happened to that Winter Solider series on Disney? I thought it was pretty good. This looks really stupid. They should stick to those short series. They have a better vibe.

Would like to see an Iron Man 4 too. I'm not very informed about this sort of things.
