The Secrets of Isis (originally just 'Isis') was first broadcast at 10:30am EST, 6th September 1975. That's 50 years ago, folks!

The series was the first superhero show in American tv history to feature a female as its lead, rather than as a guest or supporting character. It beat Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman to the crown by two month.

By way of celebration, I've done a short write up over at my old blog, and there will be several days of Isis-related postings (clips, photos, comics, etc.) over the coming week at the Superheroines International Facebook page.

If you're interested, I also wrote a blog post a while back looking at the various firsts in superheroine television around the world.

I remember it well. She was my second favorite live action heroine behind Batgirl. The show wasn't the type to provide any real did scenes but it did spin off a comic book and a cartoon that both provided scenes. She left a lasting impression on me, so much so that I have tried to rectify the lack of live action scenes whenever possible.

Her costume was basically a white tennis outfit and Joanna Cameron was hot. I imagine that her real costume would be made from shear Egyptian linen and the ancient ones that gave her powers would be unaware of modern bra technology...

That is essentially the case. In the comics, her secret identity is kind of average looking but her superheroine identity essentially has goddess-level attractiveness.
