Supergirl, Vengeance

“Quick fill the bags!” the masked robber demanded.
The bank manger was working as fast as he could. He, along with two of his employees, was emptying the bank’s cash supply into a series of bags. Six men packing assault rifles and masks had stormed the bank only minutes earlier. They came in firing their rifles above the heads of the customers and tellers, forcing everyone to the ground. It didn’t take them long to find and grab the manger.
“Move it!” the criminals’ leader screamed.
The manger was not intimidated, “We are!” One of the tellers with him was a girl who had only been with them for a week. She was balling her eyes out while working.
“Shut up!” one of the robbers with the leader yelled.
“She’s scared out of her wits, leave her alone!” the manger argued back.
“Time’s almost up, let’s go!” one of the robbers watching the floor yelled. The leader nodded his head. They had cased out the bank and timed out the police response, they needed to get moving or the chances of them getting pinned down by the cops grew.
Cursing the leader took the bags from the manger and his people. They wouldn’t be making out with as much as he liked but it was still plenty. One of his men took the bags while he yelled for the manger and his people to move away and then get down. It didn’t take much just pointing his AK-47 at them did the trick. His first four men exited the bank heading outside. None of them took the time to note the great weather that graced the city of Chicago that day. Waiting on the curb outside the bank was a van driven by the seventh man.
The driver was screaming out an open window egging them on, “Let’s go!”
A police car came speeding up the street. Two of the robbers turned their weapons on the car and sprayed it with gunfire. The officers inside the squad car ducked beneath the dashboard and tried to get out the line of fire as bullets slammed into the hood. It crashed on the sidewalk, smoke pouring from the car’s engine. The thieves laughed at their handiwork as they got ready to climb into the van. Coming out of the bank last was the boss and one of the gang members to help carry the money. As they headed down the stairs of the bank, the leader was struck by a red and blue blur and disappeared.
“What the hell was that?” one of the guys on the street said.
The other man carrying the money was then struck by the blur from an opposite direction, he too disappeared. Now the four guys near the van began to panic and they started pointed their weapons in every direction looking for something to shoot. One by one the criminals began to disappear each being snatched away by the red and blue blur. In just moments the only one left was the driver of the getaway van. He didn’t know what was going on and decided it was best not to find out. He hit the accelerator and expected the van to start moving.
Much to his surprise the van didn’t go anywhere. He heard the tires squealing and saw smoke pouring from them as they burned on the pavement. What he couldn’t see was the young woman keeping his van in place. She had planted her red boot on his bumper and with ease held the vehicle in place. As more police closed on the scene they recognized the girl. She was unforgettable in that blue leotard, red skirt with matching cape and boots, and of course the big S on her chest.
One of the younger cops whooped, “Yeah Supergirl get’em!”
Kara Zor-El waited for the van’s driver to ease off the gas before lifting her foot. Shortly after he did, the driver jumped out just in time to see her come around from the back. His eyes went wide and the criminal yanked out the pistol tucked into his waist and started firing. Supergirl defiantly walked up to him as the bullets bounced off her chest. Now standing in front to the criminal she grabbed him by the front of his body armor and lifted the guy into the air.
“It’s very impolite to shoot a lady, even one that’s bulletproof.” Supergirl told him.
She took his now empty firearm from him. Holding it in her free hand she crushed the pistol like it was made out of clay. With that Kara gave him a light punch which knocked the man right out. Dumping him on the ground she took to the air. Kara flew up and grabbed the other bank robbers who she had all deposited on a nearby roof. When she had first arrived Supergirl swept in at super-speed, disarmed each of them, and used the metal from their guns to make handcuffs for them. With care she brought each one down and put them in a line by the van for the police.
CPD officers finally had arrived in force. Several of them came up to see the Girl of Steel’s handiwork up close. Smiling Kara nodded to the men, “They’re all yours officers.” The senior officer smiled back and nodded. Supergirl turned and silently took the air. A small crowd watching her cheered as she ascended.
Once she was airborne, Supergirl looked down at the city. Kara had moved here only a few weeks ago. It had been a tough decision. While she loved Metropolis, it would forever be Kal/Clark’s city. Even though he never treated her like it, in the eyes of people Supergirl would always be second to Superman there. So when she graduated a whole year early from Met U Kara told Clark she was moving to a new city. It wasn’t easy but luckily she had help from Lois in convincing him. So she started looking for a new place.
Gotham was out. While she would have loved working with Batgirl, (Barbara Gordon) she knew Batman would never be a fan of it. Karen (Power Girl) had set herself up earlier in the year in New York. The west coast never really appealed to Kara. Superheroes went up and down the Pacific coast so it was well covered. Chicago however didn’t really have a hero presence much to Kara’s surprise. So she tried patrolling there for a little while to see how people would react. Much to her surprise the city loved her.
Kara had expected some excitement over her appearance there, but nowhere what occurred. After all she had been doing the superhero thing for a few years, so would there be that much excitement? Apparently she was wrong. The peoples’ support really got to her, making her feel…wanted. Plus she liked the area and people even in her secret identity, Kara Lee Kent. She enrolled in the University of Chicago’s graduate program and with some help from Wayne Enterprises’ realtor department, ‘found’ an apartment. Once again Kara was surprised by Bruce’s generosity He gave her a special apartment in one of his buildings in Chicago. It had everything she needed for her civilian identity and a hidden section for Supergirl. She called it her ‘Mini-Fortress’.
Soaring over the city she smiled, life is good.
………….
On the south side of the city, a meeting was beginning. The organizer had chosen the site with care. It was out of the way and more importantly specially outfitted. Lead panels in key places and special sound proofing would prevent any resident aliens from snooping on the conversation that was scheduled to take place. The first person to arrive did it the most spectacularly. Hanging from the ceiling was a broken electrical box. Suddenly the box began to arc with electricity. It grew in intensity and formed the outline of a woman. With a final surge of electricity the woman finally took a physical form. She wore a tight black leotard which featured a cut out down her chest in shape of a lighting bolt. Blue gloves matched her hair which stood up and back. Thigh high black boots completed the villainess Livewire’s outfit.
Livewire was once known as Leslie Wills. A shock radio host, she had quickly become popular by raging on Superman and anyone associated with him. One day Willis held a massive concert in downtown Metropolis. The only catch was the concert was starting during a massive thunderstorm. Despite warnings from the police and then Superman who showed up, Leslie was determined to have the event. While arguing with the Man of Steel she was struck by a bolt of lighting. As she recovered Leslie learned she had developed electrical manipulation powers. Using these newfound abilities she tried to take her revenge on Superman and Metropolis. She had been beaten but ever since then Livewire had been trying to get even with the Last Son of Krypton and his friends.
“I’m here!” she announced. The empty room stayed silent. Frowning she wondered if this was all for nothing. Livewire had come after receiving an email at an account she held in a different name. One of her talents was the ability to break down certain electrical signals, such as an email, that way she could check it without a computer. It had told her to come to Chicago for a job one that would be worth her while.
Pouting Livewire put a hand on her hip, “Well this was a waste of time.”
“What are you supposed to be a walking bug zapper?”
Livewire turned to see someone approaching in (what she considered) a ridiculous get up. First there was the large green witch’s hat the girl wore. She had long black hair. Her outfit consisted of a tight green mini dress which had a V neck with green see through material over her cleavage. A dark green cloak went over her shoulders and down her back. Black tights and brown ankle high boots completed her outfit.
Livewire frowned at her comment; Leslie had always possessed a short fuse. Building up a charge she said; “Sure, and you look like you could use a good zap!”
With that the electrical lass shot off a bolt of lighting at the girl. She mumbled some words and suddenly a purple wall appeared in front of her. Livewire’s electricity crackled around the shield, unable to breakthrough. Livewire gave up after a few seconds of failure.
“Hmm, nice trick. Did you call me to this meeting…Witch Girl?” Livewire asked.
“It’s not Witch Girl, I’m the Enchantress.”
Enchantress was actual June Moone. An art student she had traveled to England on a trip. While visiting a castle she had met a strange old man. He was a wizard who gave her magical powers in order to do good for others. However the power quickly went to June’s head. She adopted the name Enchantress (the word she spoke to summon her powers) and tried to make herself the most powerful woman on Earth. Using a special alignment of the Moon and an ancient spell June was going to eliminate all science based superpowers on the planet. She had nearly succeeded only to have her plans were foiled by Supergirl. The Last Daughter of Krypton had knocked the moon slightly off kilter, enough to ruin the spell (she fixed it after capturing the Enchantress). Since then the magical June had wanted to get even with Supergirl.
She deduced out loud, “Well Livewire if you didn’t contact me, and I didn’t summon you, then who did?”
“Sounds like it’s time to introduce myself.”
Livewire and Enchantress turned to see a third woman approaching. She was a tall blonde bombshell. Her figure was highlighted by a black suit with a miniskirt. The blonde had long legs that were displayed with suntan pantyhose and black heels. Enchantress could sense that this woman was very clever. Livewire just wondered where the blonde got those shoes.
“Welcome to Chicago ladies.” the blonde began.
“Who are you?” Livewire asked impatiently.
The blonde smiled, “Call me Brains. I asked you to come here today. I have a business proposition that I think both of you would find attractive.”
Enchantress was curious but also cautious, “How do we know this isn’t a trap?”
“You two are quite powerful. Do I appear to have anything that could slow you down?” Brains answered. Livewire tried to sense out any electronics on the blonde. All she could come up with was a smart-phone, no weapons or other gadgets. Enchantress had used her magic to feel out Brains, trying to detect a lie, she found Brains telling the truth.
“Alright what is this proposition?” Enchantress inquired.
Brains knew it was best to just say it, “I’d like your help to kill Supergirl.”
Enchantress raised an eyebrow; Livewire started laughing; “Now you’re talking. Yeah that stupid-girl stopped me last time I had that overgrown boy-scout of a cousin of hers right where I wanted him!” Livewire whined.
A little while ago she had kidnapped Lois Lane and used the reporter as bait. Tying Lois to a skyscraper’s lighting rod in Metropolis, Livewire knew Superman would come running (technically flying). She intercepted him and managed to wear him down. Livewire was going to make him watch as lighting fried his reporter friend. Supergirl however screwed everything up, rescuing Lois in the nick of time then helping Superman beat Livewire.
“I too have come afoul of Supergirl.” Brains began to explain.
She had been part of a U.S. Special Forces unit. Together with her team that quickly became her friends, they preformed countless missions around the world. Then after one botched assignment they were all drummed out without any benefits. So they decided to use their skills acquired over the years to further their own interests. Calling themselves The Gang they were ready to start a crime wave. They had been successful using their Special Forces training and Brains leadership, until Supergirl put a stop to them.
Brains had watched as her friends were each taken down with ease by Supergirl. It burned at her that this girl, with her unnatural gifts had bested her team. They had worked years to train and build up their skills and strength. Supergirl didn’t have to do any of that. Getting back at the Girl of Steel was what drove Brains as she sat in prison and was part of the motivation for her escape. She would have busted her crew out as well but following her escape they were moved to an even higher security prison. Now they were impossible to get at, at least for the moment.
“Why us?” Enchantress asked. She was interested however she wondered why did Brains pick them?
“Livewire here is a walking lighting bolt. Her attacks can wear down even a kryptonian. Plus with our electrical society she can easily replenish her charge if needed.” Brains started.
“Thanks, I’m pretty amazing if I do say so myself.” Livewire grinned. Enchantress rolled her eyes and listened as to why Brains had picked her.
“Enchantress you are a powerful user of magic. Supergirl has no defense against your talents. Your attacks can actually affect her in a different way than Livewire, quite a benefit.” Brains finished.
“If we agree what do we get?” Enchantress wanted to know.
Brains responded, “First we will have all gotten our pound of flesh from Supergirl. Plus once she’s out of the way I don’t think there’s anything or anyone in this city who would be able to stop us. Also I can offer you a substantial payment.”
“Not that I’m concerned, but those Supers are tougher than they look. Others have tried to take Supergirl down, why will we succeed where others failed?” Livewire asked. Enchantress was impressed with the electrical villainess’s display of intelligence; plus at it was a reasonable question.
“They didn’t have me.” Brains said confidently. She motioned for the ladies to follow her. Enchantress and Livewire walked behind Brains as she headed for a large case. Brains talked as she opened it up.
“Others have given Supergirl a chance to recover or outsmart them. Or they allowed her to call for help and an ally showed up. We ladies aren’t going to let Supergirl have that chance. Livewire will wear her down, Enchantress you’ll make her vulnerable, and I…well I’ll…” Brains pulled out a strange metal device over her right wrist.
Turning it on Livewire and Enchantress saw it had green light glowing from parts of it. Brains had a sinister smile on her face, “I’ll make sure she’s too sick to fight back.”
A few days later…
Sally was a very curious five year old she was playing on the balcony of her apartment. Her sister who was supposed to be watching her was too busy on the phone. As a result she didn’t see Sally start climbing on a chair. This gave the little girl enough leverage to get on top of the railing of the balcony. The sister turned just in time to see Sally go over the top and fall ten stories!
“SALLY NO!!!!” the sister screamed running for the balcony. Her eyes were filling with tears as she realized what happened. She collapsed at the balcony not wanting to look over the edge. Crying she closed her eyes and sobbed.
“Again!”
The sister opened her eyes and looked. Floating next to the balcony holding Sally was Supergirl. Kara asked her, “I believe she fell from here?”
“OH thank you…thank you…thank you…” the sister cried and took Sally from Supergirl. Kara handed her over and enjoyed the relief on the older sister’s face as she hugged Sally. She let them have a moment, then made her point.
“Hey.” Kara started. The sister looked at her, “When you’re supposed to be watching her. Watch her okay?”
“I promise Supergirl…I swear thank you…thank you….”
Kara nodded and then with a smile to the little girl, “And you Sally no more climbing here.” Sally laughed and reached out for Supergirl. Kara accepted one last plethora of thank yous from the older sister and continued on her patrol. So far it had been a quiet evening. It seemed the criminal elements of the city were figuring out that Supergirl was here to stay.
“Maybe I can even get home early.” Kara thought aloud.
Suddenly her hearing was assaulted by dozens of squealing car tires. Supergirl paused in flight and tried to focus on the source of the noise. Kara quickly realized it was all around her. Then the burning sound of tires was then replaced by the sounds of cars crashing. At every intersection in the downtown area, cars were colliding everywhere. Supergirl dived down at the closest accident. Here a delivery truck and minivan had crashed together. As far as she could tell, no one was injured. However that might not last long, as Supergirl came down she saw the drivers of the vehicles were screaming at each other.
Kara landed right next to them. So involved in their argument they didn’t notice her. Just as the deliveryman was about to take a swing Kara yelled, “Stop it!”
Both of them turned to look at her. The sight of the city’s superheroine took all the fight out of them in their tracks. Supergirl put her hands on her hips and tried to look as upset as possible. Under her glare both men shrunk a little and waited for her to speak.
Relaxing a little Supergirl asked, “What happened?”
“I had the green light.” The deliveryman explained.
“So did I!” the mini-van driver said.
Kara used her hearing to listen in on hundreds of conversations all saying the same thing. Nearly every stoplight in the city had malfunctioned. Thinking about what could have caused it; Supergirl got her answer seconds later. An electronics store on the corner had some new high def TVs displayed. Each of them came on with the same image, of a girl with white skin, blue hair, and a high pitched voice, “Hey Chicago! This is your Livewire traffic report…short version it stinks!”
Supergirl moved over to the window with a burst of speed. She started watching as Livewire addressed the city, “Well if you thought that trick with the stoplights was something, you’re going to love this!”
Lights began to go off all over the city. The Sears Tower, the buildings along the Lake, all of them were going crazy. Supergirl decided to try and get Livewire’s attention, “Livewire enough!”
Livewire smiled, “Well if it isn’t Little Miss Blue. So got tired of hiding behind Stupid-Man’s cape? Decided to branch out try and be your own super-chick?”
“Stop this Livewire, you want me then name a place and stop messing with the city’s power!” Kara ordered.
“Oh...okay.” lights around the city returned to normal. Livewire leaned forward, “Now you want to find me, follow the bouncing ball.”
The screen glowed and a phenomenon known as Ball Lighting shot out as the TV exploded. It shattered the display window and blew past Supergirl. Kara flew after the lighting spectacle. Following the glowing sphere of electricity she could tell they were heading to an office building. It had a flat roof and Livewire had formed in it’s the center. Supergirl landed making sure to put some distance between her and the electrical menace.
“Nice town Stupid-Girl, I think I’m going to have fun here once you’re out of the way.” Livewire taunted.
Kara standing in her power pose shook her head, “That’s not going to happen.”
“You’re done for alien!” Livewire hissed and sent bolts of lighting at Supergirl.
Kara brought her forearms up and blocked the electricity as it slammed into her. Each bolt was hotter than the surface of the sun and could have powered the entire city. Supergirl stood against the assault, only being pushed back a few inches. Livewire cut off the electrical assault and gave Supergirl an opening. Kara shot forward at super-speed and tried to punch Livewire. The villainess wasn’t going down so easy. Just as the heroine’s fist was going to connect with Livewire’s ghost white face, the woman disappeared.
Supergirl ended up swinging into empty air. Livewire laughed as she reformed behind the Girl of Steel, “Opps what’s the matter SG, a little slow?”
Livewire grabbed Supergirl and began shocking her with energy. Kara gritted her teeth and tried to get Livewire off her. She grabbed Livewire’s arms and pulled. Leslie might have been an amazing energy converter but super-strength was not one of her talents. Supergirl managed to break Livewire’s hold and then turn around and nail her with a punch. Livewire grunted as she flew back and hit the edge of the roof. Supergirl readied herself for another attack.
“Ugh…you’ll pay for that, but first, catch me if you can!” Livewire called out before turning into a lighting bolt. She shot off and disappeared into the electrical system of the building. Kara shook her head and went airborne and then started using her senses tried to find the lighting lady.
I just need to short-circuit her, Supergirl thought as she searched. One good dose of water would zap Livewire of her powers and end the threat she posed. Of course I have to find her first! Kara thought with frustration. Finally she picked up Livewire. Several lights in the park exploded and electricity shot forth forming Livewire.
“Got ya!” Supergirl said aloud. Kara flew right at her, ready to put an end to this fight.
With all her attention focused on Livewire, Supergirl didn’t notice Enchantress waiting close to Livewire. Moving her hands she spoke a spell completing it before Supergirl arrived. Kara was getting ready to nail Livewire with her fists when suddenly she slammed into a wall. The blow stunned her and caused her to fall to the ground. Supergirl held her head, pain…what’s going on…
“What’s wrong Supergirl? Having trouble with the flying, I wonder why?”
Kara opened her eyes and saw the speaker, “Enchantress!”
“Yes Supergirl. I hope you enjoyed my barrier.” Supergirl shook her head trying to clear her head. Livewire and now Enchantress, this is not good, Kara knew. Enchantress raised her hands which began to glow, “Now its time to defeat you once and for all!”
Kara suddenly sank to the ground. She tried to attack but couldn’t move; damn she is using her magic to keep me on the ground. Kara put all her power into taking off but couldn’t even get her feet off the ground.
“Feels like your stuck in cement, a useful little spell wouldn’t you say Supergirl?” the Enchantress taunted.
Supergirl continued to try and move but suddenly she was seized from behind. Supergirl cried out as a whip of pure electrical energy wrapped around her chest. Another ended up around her neck. Both bolts of lighting were zapping her as Kara was spun around in place. Standing behind her was Livewire grinning like the Cheshire Cat.
“I see you’ve met my friend Supergirl! Now let’s get this party started.” Livewire laughed she turned up the power of her electric whips.
Kara sank to her knees. Livewire was enjoying the moment. She called out, “Enchantress care to bring her down some more?”
“Sure thing.” Enchantress spoke another variation of the weight spell that held Supergirl. Kara began to sink deeper into the ground. Livewire kept up her attack. Kara gritted her teeth, not…going…down that…easy. Summoning her strength, Supergirl began to rise. Livewire watched as the heroine managed to get off the ground, although she was still on one knee. Kara then looked at Livewire and her eyes glowed. Leslie had only seconds to realize what was going to happen.
Kara’s heat-vision shot out and struck Livewire. The villainess was knocked off her feet and lost her control over the electrical lines she had ensnared Supergirl with. Freed from the whips Kara turned her head and blew a burst of compressed air at Enchantress. The sorceress was knocked off her feet and lost control of her spell. Supergirl felt the heavy weight holding her in place, disappear. Taking to the air she felt free again.
Livewire was getting up as Supergirl arrived and nailed her with a punch. The blue haired girl was knocked across the park. Kara was going to press the attack when she was suddenly bound by glowing purple bands. Enchantress was back. She was casting a restraining spell on Supergirl.
Enchantress spoke this one aloud, “Tied tight, forever bound, watch as my bonds crush her now.”
Kara felt the magical energy begin constricting her. Supergirl tried to apply her strength but Kara knew there was little hope. Got to break her concentration, but how? Supergirl looked for something to use against the magic maiden. Before she could find something though Livewire reappeared, “Hold her right there Enchantress I’m going to fry her!”
Supergirl still struggling realized she was still floating over the ground. Livewire brought up an electrical burst and fired. Kara flew up and let the bolt miss her and slam into Enchantress. The blast forced the sorceresses to bring up her protective spell thus freeing Supergirl. Kara then dived on Enchantress. She had no chance to defend herself against Supergirl who grabbed Enchantress and spun her around. The heroine was going to spin Enchantress to a point where she was so dazed that she would be unable to cast any spells.
But what is she doing working with Livewire? Supergirl wondered. Kara released Enchantress and watched her stumble across the ground. Livewire managed to hit her with another lighting blast in the back. Landing again Supergirl brought up her arms to protect herself as Livewire bombarded her with electricity. Livewire cursed seeing that her attacks were ineffective. She paused, I’m running low on juice…need to recharge…come on Brains…
Supergirl felt Livewire’s attacks slowly losing strength, I’ve got a chance now, she needs to recharge. Livewire extended her arms and began sucking power from some lights around her. Electricity arced to her hands and the lighting lass began recharging herself. Kara eyed the huge fountain behind her. If she moved fast enough she could create a vortex, suck up some water, and then turn Livewire’s lights out. Supergirl flew to the fountain and began spinning when she was blasted from the sky by a green beam.
Kara screamed as the ray struck her, it had hurt worse than Enchantress’s magic. Crashing to the ground she breathed rapidly, “Now…what…
“Oh I like the sight of that.” Brains called out. She stepped into view. The plan was working perfectly. Livewire had drawn Supergirl out and then blasted her. Enchantress added to the mix, messing with Supergirl, working her out. Now it was her turn. Kara recognized the tall blonde as she became visible.
“You…you’re behind this?” Supergirl asked trying to recover from the blast that hit her.
“Guilty as charged Supergirl I’ve been looking forward to this.” Brains lifted her right forearm and aimed the metal gauntlet at Supergirl. She fired a wide green spotlight like beam. As it washed over Kara she grimaced in pain, damn it…should have…known…she’d have planned to have it….
“Kryptonite, isn’t this stuff great?” Brains laughed as she held the beam on Supergirl. The Girl of Steel withered on the ground covering her head and curling up her legs. Brains stood over the superheroine keeping the beam on.
“What’s the matter Supergirl? Need some help getting up?” Brains mocked. She kicked Supergirl. Kara yelled as she was lifted off the ground and sent flying into park. Landing on her side, she winced. Brains jumped and landed next to Supergirl. She turned the kryptonite gauntlet on, letting its radiation weaken Supergirl as she lifted the blonde heroine on her feet.
“This suit augments my strength, more than a match for you at the moment.” Brains drove a red covered fist into Kara’s gut. Supergirl cried out and covered the sore area. Vulnerable and weakening from the deadly radiation, she tried to keep the pain from overwhelming her. Brains followed up the gut shot by slamming Supergirl’s head into her knee. The blow stunned Kara and caused her to stumble back as Brains released her.
Supergirl, struggling to stay on her two feet didn’t notice the person coming up from behind her. Livewire gripped Supergirl and whispered into her ear, “I’m recharged, let’s try this again.” With that she shocked Supergirl. Kara screamed as the volts coursed through her now susceptible body. Brains watched as Livewire continued to hold Supergirl.
“Set her up Livewire.” Brains ordered.
Livewire answered, “My pleasure.”
Cutting off her electrical attack, Livewire held Supergirl in place. Brains took a running start. The suit increased her speed and she drew a fist while running. Kara barely recovered from Livewire’s assault as a fast and strong punch slammed into her face. Supergirl went airborne again. Before she could land however she was enveloped in a purple glow. Enchantress had recovered from her dizzy spell, held Supergirl in the air.
“So have you ever seen a marinate show Supergirl?” Twisting her fingers like she actually held Supergirl by strings, Enchantress sent Kara straight into the ground head first. Kara could only see stars as she was lifted off the ground after her impact. I…can’t…take much…more of this, Supergirl thought. Brains and Livewire stood close and watched as Enchantress decided to stretch Supergirl out. Kara was helpless as her arms and legs extended, as if they were trying to pop out of their sockets.
Brains clapped, “An excellent trick Enchantress, mind moving her for a little target practice?”
“No problem.” Enchantress moved her hands, causing Supergirl to begin swaying back and forth. Kara struggled to regain her senses so she could fight back. Brains didn’t intend to let her.
Taking aim she fired off strong bursts of kryptonite energy. She intentionally missed a few letting the blats of radiation fly past Supergirl and increasing her discomfort. Quite a few others hit Kara dead center. Each one weakened her further. Then Livewire joined the fray. Electricity hit Supergirl, than kryptonite, then both.
“Enchantress let her go.” Brains said.
Enchantress did so, making sure Supergirl was just high enough to survive to fall but still be painful. Kara landed on her shoulder and she grabbed it. Pain shot through her body and caused her eyes to water, I’m so weak…they’ve battered me…can’t stay focused. The terrible trio encircled Supergirl. Each was enjoying the sight of their foe helpless on the ground. Brains looked at her partners each who was smiling.
“Shall we finish this, ladies?” Brains asked.
Livewire nodded, “Yeah lights out for Stupid-Girl.”
“Agreed…night time Supergirl.” Enchantress concurred.
Brains raised her arm as did the other supervillains. Each fired off a beam. Lighting, kryptonite, and magic each hit Supergirl at the same time. Kara screamed as the three combined. It was overwhelming for her. Supergirl remained frozen in place as the different energies washed over her. Kara tried to stay awake but it was no use. Her eyes rolled into the back of her head. Supergirl’s arms fell to her sides and she began falling forward. The girls kept up their attack even as Supergirl landed face first on the ground, her power exhausted and strength gone.
“That’s enough.” Brains told the other two. They ceased their attack. Livewire walked up to Supergirl who actually had smoke rising from her suit.
“She’s finished.” Livewire kicked Supergirl onto her back. Kara was completely out. Livewire reached down and grabbed Supergirl by the neck. Energy began to crackle on her arm.
“I’ve got you right where I want you.” Livewire was about to shock Supergirl for the last time when a blast of kryptonite struck her. Livewire released Supergirl and stumbled back.
“What the hell was that for?”
Brains lowered her wrist weapon, “We’re not killing her…yet.”
Enchantress nodded her head, “Right let’s get her restrained.” Once again she summoned the magic bonds spell. Supergirl was instantly bound at her wrists, side, thighs, and ankles. Brains told the magic user that she was doing a good job. The blonde looked down at Supergirl. Enjoy your rest Supergirl because when I’m done with you, you’d wish Livewire finished you off.
TBC!
