Re: new Red Sonja movie

Jill Soloway has replaced the nonce to direct Red Sonja. Does this mean it'll be good? Don't know. But it does mean I'll be actually able to watch the movie without worrying about whether anybody got raped behind the scenes.

I'm not convinced that source has any actual insider information. I'm also not a big fan of the Maxwell Lord storyline, as I don't like Wonder Woman being "the superheroine that will kill a guy." They got away with it in the first movie because Ares was an evil death god killing thousands of people...

The reason for the great production values and immediate cancellation was something to do with a tax break apparently. It was worth a shitload of money for them to make it somewhere, then that tax break vanished, so they canned the show. There's probably more than a few articles floating around abou...

The odd thing is that it's not just rushed, it's just bad. To call it rushed is an insult to things that are thrown together in five minutes but that are still good. Good writers could have rushed an ending to Game of Thrones that was better than this. And let's be honest, if they'd given more episo...

If I get started talking about GoT I might not stop. It's trolled me very effectively but it isn't worth anyone's time. Consider how stupid the writing is. There's Dany, she's the queen. I like the Superion subplot. It's hard to be a good dude and catch shit for it all the time. Plus he's not a human so who knows how his mind works. I liked that they've taken an entire season of struggle before any sort of potential heel turn though.

It looks interesting. The movie was a disastrous misinterpretation so I'm hoping the series is created with a greater sense of what the comic was supposed to be about. It's kind of a blank slate though since it's a sequel, although I suppose we'll have to see. Looking forward to seeing what they do ...

Worth noting that one reason Captain Marvel only had a relatively small role in this movie is that it was shot before the actual Captain Marvel movie. I love that 'domestic drop' is seen as an indicator of failure when a movie has a massive opening weekend.
