Some of the answers to those questions are in the lore of the games and so on... Vault-Tec are creepy weirdos. They are capitalists, but they are also institutionally pyschopathic. Watched it, loved it. The story is different to but tied to the stories of the games, so I suspect there is some crossover and it is essentially canon. I think they nailed the tone of it too, which isn't easy. Lot of gore, lot of really crude jokes, but also plenty of heart. Cast is great. Especiall...

The Denis version leaves out the sonic weaponry too, but most sadly it leaves out the horniness. Like, when Paul and Jessica escape from the Harkonnens originally, Jessica gets them to fight over her, the Voice is meant to be a suggestion based on desires, not just bossing people around. My first thought was, 'yeah but surely you could do the same for free using Stable Diffusion on A1111 with ControlNET and Image2Image if you had a comics based, or at least NSFW, SDXL model' and then my second thought was 'That sentence isn't going to mean anything to 99% of people'.

The thing with the Lynch version is that it suggests a better movie would exist, but there's just way too little of it in the back end of the story. I will always love it, but it will always leave me wanting more and feeling like I didn't see enough.
