Re: Is this genre dying out?
Hope I'm not rattling any chains here, but I think Deceiver's history needs an addition. If we're charting the "modern age" of superheroines (and their attendant peril scenes) then I believe that era just started no more than four years ago, with the advent of the CW shows, the new Supergi...

There's a new Miraculous Ladybug and Chat Noir series with original stories (not from the series) and comicbook art (rather than the 3-D animation from the series). So far three issues are out on Action Lab. Things start out slow but pick up in a big way near the end of issue 2 when Adrien and Marin...

At least it looks like Discovery won't have to make up a whole new bunch of races (eg the Xindi from Enterprise) just to have an adversary. The Klingons look formidable indeed and that's all you need. Although it'd also be nice to see some actual 'alien' aliens.

Been following this discussion with interest. RKlein, you should make videos using local New England models. Rewatched the first episode and watched the second episode, back to back, on a friend's CBS All Access. The Klingon languages and appearance is great, very intense. The CGI is great, as well. Wow, great news! Amy Jackson is gorgeous, and such a unique story - a British actress who went on to succeed in Indian (Tamil and Telugu) films because she has the classic look of an Indian beauty queen. Amazing. Mr. X is possibly referring to the ongoing growing phenomenon of MGTOW (Men Going Their Own Way) which things like porn help to facilitate. So what'd everybody think? The visual look and CGI is very different than the look of previous shows from the 60s, 80s, and 90s of course. Well, you have to be able to actually draw original stuff and do it fairly quickly to be able to submit work to the likes of DC, so if these are a mix of tracings and editings obviously that's not going to be possible. It's a nice combat sequence though.
