You probably wouldn't have had the live action versions of the superheroes. Saturday morning cartoon versions would have occurred without Adam West and Burt Ward doing the voices. Marvel comic based shows would have caused DC comics to license their characters.

They did the two fan films and then went with original characters so they could make some money. They were better than some of the others out there at the time.
