Hi Guys,

I've got some free time to kill so I thought I would come in here and ask a very important and relevant question.....If you could choose 1 character from the Marvel or DC Universe to take on Wonder Woman in fight who would it be and why? Now I'm just going to set some ground rules before we get started. On the Marvel side Omega level mutants cannot be used as they are just too powerful, so characters like Franklin Richards who can warp reality and create and destroy his own universe at will cannot be used. Also lets just keep this to the Earth bound Superheroes and villains, Thor is an exception to this rule for obvious reasons. Superman is another too obvious choice and this particular avenue has been explored several times by DC already lets create a little controversy lol. I'll go first.

If I had to choose one I would choose the Juggernaut. Pretty obvious choice really, he can easily match if not better her strength, at full power he can crumble mountains and use buildings as weapons. H'es also invulnerable to pretty much anything except telepathy which WW obviously does not posess. I just dont see how she could hurt him, on the flip side is he quick enough to land a punch on her? Also he's not a mutant, his powers stem from a Magic stone powered by a god like entity so there is no guarantee her lasso would be effective against him either.

Thoughts?

Marvel - X-men villain - The Blob

As long as his feet are planted, then he is invulnerable to WW's super strength and it's possible for him to trap her hands in folds of his flesh if she's stupid enough to punch him. He would be vulnerable to her magic lasso, but she doesn't normally use it for her first attack. If he brings in his crime circus members like in his first X-men appearance, then he could even get around the lasso.

You will have to be much more specific abouit which Wonder Woman you are writing about. Her powers and level of invulnerability have varied wildly over time and variouis types of media. I am certain that there are members of this forum who could provide you with some very helpful references.

Yeah depends on the version, are we talking the WW that can go toe to toe with Superman or a more watered down version of her?

I want a catfight! I'm picking Captain Marvel. She has the potential to absorb enough energy to defendant Wonder Woman.

Multiple Man and then Elongated Man.
I love to see the heroine dominate without being able to win and get tired unnecessarily. So these are well suited opponents for this scenario.

I think Zardor from the “Mind Stealers from Outer Space” (1977) episode, in the Linda Carter era could return as an evil villain to challenge Wonder Woman. There is a fabulous fight scene between WW and Zardor in that episode, comprising bearhugs, body holds and lifts, and swinging punches. Zardor really pushes our favourite heroine to the limits during the confrontation. Great additional scene where he confronts Diana as well.

yes one of my favorite episodes.. its good to see a villain that can challenge WW.. thought the fight on the show should of been one hole episode.. That Zardor gave WW a pretty good hug.. imagine if he was more focused and came back.. ungg!!! I have fought him in roleplays.. and was tough as heck!

I like the Juggernaut idea. I would also throw in the Abomination, even the movie version would do. Besides super-strength and invulnerability, I would include a radioactive aspect where Wonder Woman would get weaker/sick from his radiation when they fight.

One of my favorites is still in the JLU animated series when Mongul absolutely demolishes her.

Rogue, definitely. Wonder Woman exposes so much of her skin it'd be easy for Rogue to find a spot to grab, and drain the beautiful Amazon until she's helpless. Then she could easily be trussed up with her own lasso, and thrown over Rogue's shoulder to be taken to...wherever!

Same, unfortunately the only show her losing for a few seconds in every other fight. Like when Kalibak takes her out with pretty much 2 hits, would love to see a longer fight with them or even against Lobo, that would be awesome.

I think it was comic vine or super power beat down that actually made a computer sim of this fight. The winner is determined by the percentage of votes they get. And they agreed with you because Rogue won. I think she actually kissed her to put her out.

First which version of WW and are you talking a physical match or can the opponent use tricks, magic, weapons etc.

Also how powerful is WW's Magic Lasso?

I think fully equipped and powered up WW wins a stand-up fight against virtually everyone from both universes other than the 'super' characters and omega characters. A fight with Thor would be conceptually pleasing, but I think she'd wipe the floor with him. I'd prefer to see her up against people that fight her on a subversive axis that avoids the perils of trying to physically overcome her - like Poison Ivy or the Purple Man or the Shadow King. My pick would be a battle against the Shadow King in her own mind.

It would be great to bring him back in comic book form and make him more of a full-fledged standalone villain, rather than a mere henchman for the Skrill. Or perhaps he is also possessed by the Skrill like they did the various humans? Would be an interesting wrinkle, plus it might give Wonder Woman an edge once she figures it out.
