But it seems to me that it's time to start thinking out of the box when it comes to peril. I'm not saying you have to go to sexual perils, just different perils. Perhaps you should try running a poll and see what people think. Offer up some alternate peril concepts and see where the percentages lead you. Honestly trying to be helpful here.

Thanks for your help, DrDominator9, but sales are good and the perils that we are using are not only requested, but fans are contributing funds to have these perils included. This particular video, like several of our recent ones, are group customs. People putting their money where their mouths are is always better than polls or just listening to the most vocal fans.

Having said all of that, we are still trying to shake things up. "Ultrawoman 12: Power Thief" involves Nightshade stealing Ultrawoman's powers and transforming into an evil Amazon! I think that's out of the box storytelling!

Well, it wasn't in the script, but we'll see what was shot and what can be included as the editing progresses. This was only shot yesterday, so we still haven't reviewed all of the footage.

Love seeing more of Lynda! And in the same spirit as the earlier post, I would absolutely LOVE to see some sexual elements with her. I remember her doing quite a bit of sexual material with another site. But this doesn't seem to be a significant element of the Bluestone videos (which is not meant as criticism but just an observation over the years). It would be nice to see a variety of bondage perhaps--heroine tied to a chair and interrogated, heroine hog-tied and placed in a precarious position, heroine tied to a post and fondled, etc.
Totally understand a producer's logic in doing what someone paying for the commission asks, but perhaps adding a few extra elements beyond those might both inspire future commission payments (as people know what they like, but if they haven't thought of it maybe showing them something different may inspire more liked and requested/commissioned interests) as well as more purchases.
Just hoping for a few new elements in these high quality and well made videos.

Bluestone has specialized in strangulation forever. When they entered the superheroine genre they slowly started to branch out into more fighting, and became quite good at it. I would say the peak of their efforts was SS#76 - Supernova 15: Doomsayer and its second part SS#77 - Supernova Prime 2: Alien Dawn. Those are sensational videos with plenty of great fight action that goes far beyond strangulation, stunning heroines and a truly imposing villain. After that there has been a gradual return to the strong focus on strangulation. I don't know for sure, but I suspect the fight intensive videos were more expensive to produce and sales didn't make up the difference. Blue has spoken about piracy hampering his efforts, and that rings true to me. I certainly miss the more action oriented vids, as the strangulation stuff doesn't appeal to me. Clearly there is a good audience for it though, and Blue makes fine videos.

Once again, I feel that I have to correct this repeated misconception. Bluestone has never specialized in strangulation. That is what a lot of people believe, but it is totally untrue. I think that concept arose when we entered the Superheroine market, initially in co-productions with a UK based company who specialized in strangulations. Soon thereafter, our White Angel series became quite popular here, because it featured super-powered spies, but the White Angel concept was also based upon strangulation being the White Angels' major weakness. Somehow, those two factors led many to believe that Bluestone started out as strangulation specialists. Although we do great strangulation scenes, Bluestone started making videos over a decade ago and strangulation was only one of the many elements that we included in our videos. Our Superheroine videos are no different. We include elements requested by fans and often paid for by fans. Recently, we've filmed several group customs, and strangle fans paid for the strangle elements to be included. That's why it 'looks' like we favour that element. Certainly, if fighting fans contributed for fighting elements, we would happily include those items. Unfortunately, when we request such contributions on this forum, very few members contribute for such elements.

The good news is that we're next going to film a Supernova video in February, starring gorgeous Rebecca Mason, and will be soon requesting contributions for elements to be included in that video on a separate thread right on this forum. So, keep an eye out for that opportunity to be part of the next awesome Supernova video!

Well, without getting overly pedantic about it I think we're talking about a distinction without a difference. Bluestone's early superheroine vids were heavily strangulation oriented, they became less so for a while, and recently they are again more choking-centric. I was very clear about holding the company in high esteem. I just miss the more fight oriented material as I'm not a fan of strangulation. I'm sure your business model works for you and if vids happen to pop out of that model that include a good amount of fighting action, I'll buy them.

I have to agree with Bert’s posts. While it’s no criticism, every video I’ve bought from Bluestone—and I’ve bought a fair amount—has strangulation in it as a major feature. There certainly are other elements, but when I think of a Bluestone video my first thought is that it will focus a fair amount of the action on strangulation. In looking at Bluestone productions, almost every single one features that element, which is unique and subsequently has defined, for better or worse, Bluestone videos. My impression has always been that the strangulation element was what the producer(s) liked, which is why it’s in practically every video. Nothing wrong with that, as that’s a producer’s prerogative to add whatever they want. And if people want to pay for that element as part of a custom, so be it.
But there are fans like me who buy several videos and hope to see more of other elements, or even some sexual peril. But that seems to be something Bluestone doesn’t want to add and that is absolutely their prerogative as well. I’m not up to paying for a commission or custom, so I’m left to pick and choose when I see enough reasons to buy a video based on what others have paid for. Sometimes there are enough and sometimes there aren’t.
I did like the honest statement by Blue that “Although we do great strangulation scenes,...”. Humble? Maybe. Accurate? Yes.

I have to echo the constructive criticism here. I don't post much, as I just creep on the site to get the latest news without signing in. This string has forced my hand, however. Blue's earlier videos, Darkwing, SuperNova, maybe five years ago and counting, were the stuff that I would wait with baited breath for a release date. Plenty of action, good on story, with just enough, if not peril, implied sexual tension in the story. Finally someone doing rock solid work, that I could sink my perverted teeth into. I would always wonder to myself, "Are they going to do something "edgier" this time?". Alas, nowadays, I answer my question prior to the thought ever ever entering my head. And that answer is "NOPE". For me, the studio has fallen into catering to the fans' single track request and it seems as if they're perfectly happy with that. So be it. I'm definitely not one to argue with a business owner's philosophy if it's working for them. I will ask these questions: Is this a hobby? With all the time and effort that you put into your work, it suggests that it isn't. If it's not a hobby, do you want to grow? Unless there are new paying customers that are coming into the genre, and finding your product on a daily basis and it's all new to them, I think you really have to expand your thinking, therefore your product offerings. While I'm a huge fan of your production prowess, I have grown weary of the story, elements, and apparent lack of imagination. I want to champion your product, even if it's only in my own head, I'm just finding it hard to do so anymore.

Wow! Thanks for all of the constructive criticism, guys! We've been waiting for more of this on this site. Well, here goes with some answers to the questions posed:

1. Yes, I am the producer and I do personally love strangulation, but I do add many other elements, because we don't want to be known aa a strangulation-only studio. That's the point that I was trying to make above;
2. Yes, it's a hobby, not really a business. If I had to depend on video sales for my livelihood, I would have stopped producing in season one! LOL!
3. Because of both the lack of feedback here and the lack of interest in group customs, over the last few productions, our videos were weighted towards what the Extreme fans were requesting on the FF board, and most of them are strangle and death fetish fans over there. Obviously, if we had feedback such as the above on this board, your elements would be more highlighted;
4. I still intend to start a new thread requesting contributions to elements and/or suggestions for elements for our next production, but we will be setting the basic storyline, because we've found that it's very hard to produce consistent and gripping videos with just a collection of unconnected elements to knit together into a video. So that you can think about possible elements that you'd like to see, our next production will be "Supernova: Hunted", starring Rebecca Mason as the good Supernova. Supernova is on assignment in her new civilian job as a journalist when Xander's robot tracks her down by her Novatonian aura and attacks her. She manages to fend it off long enough to change at super speed to Supernova and a battle ensues. We intend this to be a all-fight episode.

Now, we also have a sexy Ultrawoman video to be released shortly starring Lynda who is also in civies for part of the episode, because Nightshade steals her powers in "Ultrawoman 12: Power Thief"!

a) novanite-laced clothing fitted onto Supernova

b) novanite club used to k.o. her

c) more k.o.'s in general

d) forced drinking of drugged liquids

e) ladder climbing with upskirt views

f) restrained, blindfolded and taunted

I can come up with more as they occur to me if you'd like. True, I'm not paying to have these ideas included but since you opened the door for more feedback, I'm here to provide.

Don't get me wrong, Blue. I think your production values are fantastic, your women are the hottest in the genre and your overall story arcs have been intriguing with very strong continuity. It's just the perils that could use some differences. I am a huge fan and always have been. These comments are made out of a desire to help.

The Extreme version ends with Nightshade killing Ultrawoman. So, theoretically, she could steal the bracelets again and thus her power, but the video ends with this death scene.

Actually, there are the same number of transformations in each version, so 4-5, because one is a double transformation where Lynda transforms into Ultrawoman which transforms Samantha from Dark Ultra back to Nightshade.

Well, we just sprang for this new costume, so she'll be wearing it for a while, but it sure looks like you're referring to the costume that Dark Ultra is wearing which has the gold trim on the bottom of the shorts. If you look a little more carefully, Ultrawoman's costume has briefs with a higher cut leg and does not have yellow trim at the bottom.

The catsuited girl is Samantha. Samantha is K.O.'d with chloroform when she is wearing an Amazon costume. This is her in the cradle carry below. Also, there is a pic of her lying on the table once Ultrawoman transforms her back into catsuit. This scene is in both versions.

So I bought this one and it's good, but I was disappointed by the limited breast fondling--the lone sexual element of the video. As Lynda has been in some very racy videos, I was hoping for a bit more as well as seeing it in her Ultrawoman outfit. Hopefully we can see more of the sexual element with her in the future, especially as there is quite a bit of time spent on the strangulation theme. Perhaps a bit more balance between chloroform and strangulation and sexual elements. Spending almost $30 for this one (and having bought many others), I would like to think I may be 1/3 of the way to having that element added a bit more to the next Lynda video.

Also, if you like the pics at the top of Lynda being strangled by a rope, that's not in the peril version. Sadly, I found that out after buying the peril version :(
