Hattersville, Tennesse, USA. Present day 9 am

CRYSTAL CARTER, exited the apartment building where she lived and made her way towards the law campus of HATTERSVILLE UNIVERSITY. A 20-year-old black woman, Crystal grew up in one of the rural districts of the town which had become an expanding metropolis since the 1970's.

While Crystal was a grade A student since high school and continued with her high grades since winning a scholarship to study law, she often had the feeling she was destined to be something more.

As a young girl, she was in awe of tales of a legendary black superheroine from the 1970's, BEAR WOMAN. A muscular black woman who wore a mask and a flimsy bear fur bikini, she was said to have the strength, speed and stamina of 20 black bears.

Newspaper stories and comic books written about her also said she was invulnerable to bullets, blades and fire. Crystal read tales of her adventures against a plethora of criminals in the tumultuous period that existed in Hattersville in the 1970's.

After defeating a white supremacist crime syndicate, Bear Woman had disappeared. She had not been seen or heard off for years.
