Some SHIP producers are not being honest on clip sites.

General discussions about superheroines!

I've been noticing a few producers falsely advertising information about their videos at Clips4Sale and social media sites. They will either place tags unrelated to the video such as wrong models, characters, fetishes, sexual acts, etc. Sometimes producers in certain fetishes refuse or "surprise" customers about a video's content. How is this fair for customers? I don't care what the fetish is even if it is domination or humiliation. Not even person with a humiliation fetish has the same limits or no limits for humiliation.

I just purchased a new video today. It has Supergirl and a model tagged as Supergirl. Is Supergirl in this movie? I would think the model is playing Supergirl, but NO. Supergirl is not in the video. The model is also not in the video. How is this fair for me or any customer?

A few weeks ago I purchased a video that had "threesome" tagged so I assumed there is a threesome at some point in the video. Is there a threesome in the video? Nope!

Now a well-known producer is now making gay videos, and she has the reputation of making solo or lesbian videos. Is she tagging her new videos as gay? Nope. You better pay attention to the trailer or if you're straight, then you're buying gay porn. I have nothing against homosexuals. Live your life. At the same time, producers need to be honest about what they are selling.

Some stores are just tagging "Superheroine" just because. A cop is NOT a superheroine. A teacher is NOT a superheroine. I am not talking about alter egos. These videos have nothing related to superheroines. Studios are just putting false tags to trick customers.

This same producer also REFUSED to answer a customer's question about content in her video. He asked if one of her lesbian videos includes fucking with a strap-on. What was her answer? "Buy it and find out." How is this a fair answer?

I understand people make honest mistakes. However, it is almost always the same producers and studios putting incorrect information in tags. I am very confident that they are doing this on purpose to lure customers. I understand that one model may be very popular, but that does not mean she needs to be tag in videos that she is NOT in.

You may say "Well Mr. Critic, why didn't you watch the video previews?". Great question Kara! Most clips only have an eleven second preview and GIF previews show very little information. Sometimes videos do not have a preview at all. Sometimes descriptions also lack information. I noticed a Wonder Woman video without any preview and only mentions "Wonder Woman is tied up and fucked". Is there a story? Is this a gonzo scene (a scene with only sex and no story)?

These low-ball business tactics look really bad for SHIP on clip sites. People have the right to know what they are buying. Sure a fetish or two may be overlooked and not tagged. I would rather learn a producer missed a tag instead of putting a lot of false tags.

How is issue not reasonable? Some studios are falsely advertising scenes by lying which models are in the videos and what fetishes are included in the video.

I purchased a new video today and a popular model was tagged in it. Unfortunately, the model is not in the video. The studio's excuse was "this model supports our studios". That is not a good reason to tag a model to a video.

Furthermore, Clips4Sale's staff made a worse excuse by saying "it was a generic tag". How are models and mainstream characters generic tags? Generic tags are big tits, superheroine, high heels, boots, blonde, femdom etc. A model is an exclusive individual, thus not generic.

Have to agree with GPC on this one. Indicating that a model is in a video means she should be in the video. Case closed.

I posted a thread a while back in the producers corner titled "No preview, No sale".
I specifically talked about producers posting videos to Clips4sale and a lot of them were not providing any kind of preview at all.
I also mentioned that text descriptions and tags are not cutting it. I need to see what content I am going to be buying.
I don't by movies on Blu Ray that I have not seen, and some of the videos on C4S are just as expensive ( or more than ) a new Blu Ray release.

My own policy is "No preview, no sale." If I can't see the content before I am going to buy it...then I ain't buying it.

In fairness, if that's her recent custom POV, then it's abundantly clear from the preview clip which is quite prominent. I saw that advertised on twitter and thought for a minute that she might be doing something with a wrestler but it quickly became clear what was going on.

Deliberately misleading is one thing and very shoddy too but I wouldn't say that was the case on this one.

You're mixing stories that suggest you've encountered clear-cut fraud -- without any specific examples, of course -- with gripes in which a reasonable consumer should know better, with a gripe you've made before about a producer being coy about a video detail which is a legitimate marketing technique they're within their rights to employ, just as you're within your rights to not buy anything without more information.

If you have examples of clear-cut fraud you shouldn't be afraid to post links. If you'd stick to those it wouldn't sound so much like another crusade to bend the market to your high-minded opinion of what it should be. Or if you'd build up from seems-harmless to kinda-sketchy to clear-cut fraud, you might make a convincing argument that tag stretching is a slippery slope that damages consumer trust for the whole fetish clip industry.

Dial back the indignation, or at least use it more subtly, and you'll be a better advocate. That's what you want, isn't it?

i believe that having a custome made is better, because the script is written by the individual, and the characters are based on you,re storyline, what I,m trying to say is write you,re own custom, because it is you,re fantasy, you can,t always rely on any other content.

Not a lot of experience in this area, but I certainly echo one sentiment mentioned here. If I don't see a clip or the clip if unclear as to the content of the video, then I will hold off buying. Some producers are better than others in this regard.
A man may fight for many things: his country, his principles, his friends, the glistening tear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally I'd mud wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock, and a sack of French porn.

To tag a model in a video and then she's not actually there is misleading and pathetic. I don't know why you don't make specific names, I'd like to hear the model thoughts on this ("i support them so it's ok for me, even if i don't appear in the video" or "they are tagging me without my consent to do so in videos i don't appear" etc.)

I have been a member at this forum for a few years, and have a good history of buying videos. My reputation as a good costumer speaks for itself. You may find my argument annoying, and that is okay. It is your choice to accept certain studios manipulating costumers and cheating the system with false ads.

Why does anyone need to make a convincing argument about tag stretching? That's common sense. If a video has Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Ashley Lane, or Nikki Benz tagged, then I expect those elements in the video. The studio is advertising those fetishes and models in the video. End of discussion on tags. Strike one for you.

Being coy about a product is not fair to a customer if the producer knows the content is not in the video. Here is an example of that foolishness. The customer asks if a particular fetish/act is in the video and the producer refuses to give a direct answer. Is this fair for the costumer? I would be very upset if a producer dodges a question and knows the video does not feature a particular act.

The Masked Pervert is known for falsely advertising scenes as Superheroine videos. He has a few superheroine videos, but not all of his videos are related to superheroes. He tags anything as Superheroine "just because".
https://www.clips4sale.com/studio/49931 ... d+by+a+Cop

I was looking for an example at Cory Chase's and Luke's superheroine store, but it appears Clips4Sale has forced them to clean up their tags. They missed a few. Cory Chase and Supergirl (Super Gurl) are tagged. You may argue "you don't see either character in the GIF preview", but previews do not show everything on Clips4Sale. Four seconds of 23 minutes do not say much about a video. Also, the preview video appears to be a completely different video. I asked Luke for a correct video preview, and he asked me if I am sure what I saw as his preview. I sent him a link to his own store, and he just ignored the problem.

Not everyone has the same point of view. Maybe someone else thinks she is doing something with a wrestler. Maybe someone has no idea what it is. We all started watching SHIP or a type of content at some point. Heck, I had no idea JOI was a thing until a few years ago. I didn't know about SHIP until four years ago, and I've been buying porn for eleven years.

Even her video description does not mention it is a gay video. I am not giving Anastasia Pierce the benefit of the doubt because of the example above of her dodging a question about a different video's content.

I will agree on one sentiment that was mentioned - 'no preview, no sale.' If there is not a decent 60 second clip AT LEAST of what you're buying in a 20-30 minute video, then it's an absolute no. The buyer has to know what they're getting. I have seen the little 10 second clips that feature title card and then a brief shot of say 'character fights other character.' That's so vague and will not interest anyone. If the buyer doesn't know what they're getting then they will pass up the vid. Or, even worst yet for the industry, they will wait until it's on one of the illegal sites to see what's it's all about. I'm sure a good 60 second trailer has got to increase sales than say a vague 10 second trailer.

As a producer who puts some of his videos on Clips4sale, I would have to disagree with this sentiment!

What grinds my gears the most is when I see a 40 minute video, and it only has 5 minutes of hardcore sex. To me that is a ripoff for hardcore buyers like myself. I've used illegal sites to see pictures, and know how much sex is actually in a video. There are only a handful of stores on clip sites that I trust, and will buy a new video on the same day of release.

I can relate to a lot of the gripes in this thread. I won't buy a movie unless the preview completely sells it to me.

I hate to ask more from producers than folks already do, because this industry is mean, the world is uncaring, and the stuff we ask them to do is often pretty fucking weird as it is. And we can all say for a fact there's nobody been in the business any length of time isn't working their arse off, it's not like folks aren't trying. However with all that in mind, here's what I think regarding previews/listings:

1. With the video description one that says what happens is better than a vague preview. I think this is probably even more important with fetish stuff than vanilla porn because the audience is after something specific, and so if it's in there let folks know.

2. You can do wonders with the gif previews these days. This is something I've seen a lot of producers really raise their game with lately. I don't know if its easier to do that than put together the preview videos, but a few frames from every moment of the action can look amazingly good.

3. Personally I don't mind the use of inaccurate terms in the blurb or tags on condition that it's something close to what's in the clip, and providing it's not advertised as something that blatantly isn't there. So as somebody mentioned, a cop isn't a superheroine, but it's not a million miles away, and as long as the clip doesn't pretend otherwise I'll be disappointed but not annoyed. See this a lot when people tag a clip 'latex' when they're just wearing something shiny, some folks get annoyed by that, personally I'll give it a look. I'd rather be directed to something it turns out I'm not interested in than miss out on something I'd really like.

4. Too much preview text is bad. Try to avoid a wall of text. I've seen some producers just putting a whole custom script up there. Sure, it's detailed, but it's not usually the right sort of detailed. A custom script is not necessarily a great advert for the movie. If there's a lot to cover keep the description sparse and let the pictures do the talking.

I agree on a lot of the points made above, particularly the length of trailers (10 seconds is nothing). but I really want to add my own experience to this topic because it is somewhat related. When I first started buying clips and movies I was buying them left and right and I had quite a collection. At some point I looked at my collection of SHIP clips and came to the conclusion that 40% of my clips were unsatisfactory purchases that just did not do it for me. In retrospect I think what I was doing at the time in many cases was looking at the miniscule previews and the texts and while I may have liked the premise or the idea of the videos. I think that in many cases I was projecting what I was hoping to see on the video rather than what was actually advertised. That is on me, not the producers. Nowadays I am much more discerning and careful regarding my purchases.

I came to the same conclusion years ago. The only things I'll buy from clips4sale these days are from Primal, Christina Carter and the like... very occasionally Comic Strips or Xxxtremecomixxx. Producers who consistently make stuff I enjoy, and I won't feel ripped off if it winds up not being 100% my cup of tea. If Rachel Steele made a new WW vid, I'd buy that, too, probably.

The rest of them seem to make stuff that doesn't interest me, uses the heroine outfit just to check a box and appeal to more viewers, like our SHIP producers do with the hilariously overdone belly punching, crotch kicking, or the old SHIP videos that wedged foot stuff into every video lol. It's pandering, it's not authentic and it generally feels like it. So... no buy from me!

I'm 100% on Primal Fetish's bandwangon. It's the one of the few quality companies on Clips4sale. Superheroine Under World has many really good videos, but it rarely updates these days. Kendra James also produces good videos, but sometimes I skip her videos because they are either too short (15 minutes) or do not have full videos for sale.

Most stores on Clips4Sale look like armature porn from grandma's basement. They put little to no effort into their videos. Clips4Sale should raise its standards, but then they would only have a few companies on the site. XXXtremeComixxx has some potential to be a respectable studio, but they put little to no effort in videos.

Rachel Steele appeared to have good video quality, but to me it looks like her scenes are 40 minutes long with a five minute sex scene. Her sex scenes look too short for an adult video.

For me, Primal fetish is a perfect example of my problem. There are quite a few videos that I have loved from Primal, but there are conversely quite a few of what I would consider duds in my collection as well. I like a little psychological peril in SHIP videos and with primal they are hit and miss on that sometimes either due to the script, audio issues where you have a difficult time hearing the heroine, or (and this is pure speculation on my part) the model is not up to the task of portraying that type of psychological peril. I know that Primal is at very successful at what they do, that they clearly have a love of the genre, and that they have a thorough engagement with the SHIP community which is great, but for me I have to be very careful with my potential Primal purchases because I either end up happy with them or disappointed.
GeekyPornCritic

You may not like all of Primal's videos. Primal Fetish is very honest and forthcoming at Clips4sale. They provide a good description and many GIFs for their videos. Sure they don't use trailers at C4S, but their GIFs provide enough information about their scenes.

Primal Fetish also films a lot of custom scenes so I never blame studios on custom scripts. The customer wrote the story and paid for it to become a reality on camera.

This it’s pretty simple in my estimation. If you tag something in the video, then it should be in the video. Period. No excuses. Otherwise it’s just plain old false advertising. Boy, it sure takes a lot of balls to do that though. Because you would think that studio would quickly go out of business. This is a pretty small circle of folks. It doesn’t take very long for word to get out that you’re ripping off people.

I agree about word getting out. You earn trust in teaspoons, you lose trust in buckets.
