From some of the text that I have translated using DeepL, the story puts a large focus on the psychological and mental anguish that Chun-Li faces in her defeat and humiliation. The announcer commentating on the match insults Chun-Li's belief that justice always prevails over evil and decides to broadcast her humiliation to the whole world. Chun-Li has flashbacks of her speaking to her dad before he was killed. Near the end Chun-li is apologizing in her head to her father for failing him.
