This is one of the reasons I've never invested in a custom. It is natural to get bored with something after a while. I have some much beloved clips I've had for many years that I don't watch very often. At least with an existing offering, I've only spent 15-25 bucks and if its not really all that good or I eventually get bored of it then I'm okay with that. But with a custom, you've invested so much more money and there is a very real chance it isn't going to live up to the fantasy you have in your head for various reasons. And like anything else, you are going to get bored of it eventually. It just never seemed worth it to me. There are better places to spend 300-500 dollars in one shot.

I can't seem to load Primal's previews on c4s. Is it me? My browser crashes after 2 pages. I have notified WK without a response. I don't like Rachel Steele superheroine clips anymore. The last one I purchased was 11 minutes long total. 2 minutes of crap at the start.

Kendra, you said the videos were unlisted...but you still got reported? When it's unlisted, you have to share the link with whomever and it won't appear in a search obviously...which means that someone clicked on the link or saw the trailer and then reported it. What kinda of asshat does that? Since they would know what they were watching in the first place.

I am probably a minority here, but I hate it when the screenshots show a couple of good looking superheroine peril shots and then the rest nude shots (I am probably the only person that detests nudity). The other is that the video prices are way too expensive. I don't know what the obsession with nudity is.

I only buy clips from primal and xxxcomicsxxx, they cover what I like better than anyone and more consistently, just like I only get my picture art from Mr X and smudge, they are both on point as well. and all well worth the money to me, I for one know what im getting with them all, I don't need a change of advertising, but am totally on board with the code word system.

and no way are you alone ,,,nude is so fucking boring I cant stand it, nude is everywhere,,,,,,EVERYWHERE!!!!,,,I like my fetish unique, not vanilla, the more costume the better,,,,technically the more spandex or nylon the better :P

Thanks! Glad you like my work. One of the reasons I "deliver" is my own frustration in the past spending money or material that never did what it advertised. So many misleading comic book covers or preview videos.

Agree with that, I don't really get why superheroine fetish stuff has nudity in it. Nudity I can get anywhere. Nudity is standard. Nudity is three clicks away on any given internet connection. There has enough porn made of people fucking in the nude to last the human race until the heat death of the universe. It is probably self defeating for a producer to dive into that big fleshy mess and try to successfully compete with it.

I get the impression that the producers who always get the costumes off right at the start aren't really interested in the genre. They're just using the superheroine theme as a "MacGuffin" to lead into a porn scene.

I personally prefer to see costumes hanging half-off like this:

and this:

Having the costume pulled down or ripped open is a great way to show the important parts while keeping the model "in character" as a superheroine.

I get what you mean. But even then there's much more to the superheroine fetish than just the outfits. A fetish for spandex and capes isn't a superheroine fetish in and of itself. The clothes don't necessarily make the superheroine movie. But if all the scene is going to come down to is a couple of naked people fucking then that's probably missing the point on all levels.

I do understand why people do make movies that miss the point though. If a producer doesn't have a particular fetish, or indeed any fetishes at all, then they will really struggle to get what people are on about. Hence why we end up with a lot of movies that are basically superheroine themed but otherwise fairly standard porn movies. For a lot of producers and models everything they know must be telling them to make a movie sexy in the traditional sense, but when it's a movie catering towards a specific fetish then traditional ideas of what is sexy are not usually the right way to go.

ironically enough those are both PERFECT pictures and exact examples of how and why I like the fetish and the super heroine theme.

great choice!

haha!

the gentleman earlier described the attempt at censoring as dry hump!

that's hilarious, just as funny to watch as to describe, or the weird thing I have noticed lately with using a dildo instead of the real thing, I don't get how that's different, there is still penetration just rubber instead of skin,,,are FCC rules so specific that the appliance used somehow makes a difference?

More than likely the model will not do real penetration and it could also be the guy is not hung well enough to pull off a real scene. Those porn star guys are HUGE. Not even close to the average male size.

and the size thing,,,,speak for yourself,,,,,,JK! :P

I'd just like to add a "Hear! Hear!" to these comments. Sexual PERIL is one aspect of the superheroine fetish - a strong woman facing a violent and humiliating assault - but if the whole point of a movie is SEX then it is missing the point. That said, there are as many ideas about what is and isn't superheroine fetish as there are viewers, so it is understandable why producers have headed down that traditional route. The most important part of all is that she IS a superheroine, not just a costumed bimbo, if producers, writers and casts concentrated on that then I'd accept wherever their story leads, even if it is a hardcore sexual battering, but it has to come out of the story - not be a lazy filler because you thought you'd make a movie but turned up without a story.

Parts of the costume which have clearly been shown, but magically disappear just before the costume is removed. This is particularly common with bras and pantyhose. In one shot, we'll see the heroine's bra straps sticking out the top of the leotard. In the next, we'll see the leotard come down with no sign of a bra underneath.

If we've all seen the heroine is obviously wearing a certain item on-screen, then just leave it as a garment to be stripped or ripped within the diegesis (the story world). As a nylon fetishist, I find it particularly annoying when a girl in pantyhose is de-hosed in between shots and I don't get my "money shot" of the pantyhose being pulled down or ripped open.

My pet peeves list (i know this a topic from a few years back but still..)

1: Movies being brought out in different formats and file sizes. My concern on this is that there all the same price. Why should someone with a slower internet pay the same price for a lesser quality video, then a person who can download the 1080p quality in seconds.

2: Lack of heroines wearing underwear. Wearing some sexy lingerie is kinda a turn on, why do most superheroines have nothing on under their skirt. Im sure if there was superheroines in real life they wouldnt be waling around in a mini skirt without underwear, or they wouldnt be outside on a slightly windy day.

3: Brought up before, and it was answered. But.. c4s previews are shocking, like you look a preview for some videos and you get the c4s 10 seconds. and you see nothing. Some producers havea link in their c4s description to their own site where you can see a full preview and or pictures, which is nice.

4: Producers showing the same actress over and over, in the same costume over and over, it gets boring. Actress don't really change their acting style in these movies, so even tho the story may change for each movie, its feel like the same thing over and over.

5: Its getting better nowadays, more models are being used, but i find the lack of natural looking girls in these videos gets a bit old too. A normal no plastic girl with a smaller maybe B size breasts is nice sometimes. I dont think everyone needs fake D's to make a good fetish video.

And it's not just the chest size. I'll tread carefully here as I try not to post personal comments about specific models on this forum, but I find it a real turn-off if the model has clearly had "work done" on her face. Trout pouts and pointy little noses just look weird, particularly if old material exists showing the same model as a natural beauty.

Not sure what you mean by "shocking" exactly, but if you mean shockingly bad, then I am with you. Oddly enough, Christina Carter (who is awesome in just about every other way) has terrible previews on C4S. Almost every time I watch one, I basically get the first 10 seconds of the credits, which is completely useless in terms of making a decision about buying the video.

It's not really a problem where CC is concerned, because she posts trailers here and elsewhere. And also, her videos are all so great that you hardly need a preview to know they are worth buying. :)

I understand the C4S has really crappy options for the preview, but I am pretty sure that one option is to show the first 10 seconds. And so some producers will deliberately prepend 10 seconds of preview to the video just for this purpose.

There is a reason for this, at least I am told that there are only two options to choose for the previews.. one it the first 10 seconds, and I am not sure what the other is but I will check it out. i do have a webmaster that posts clips for me... if there is a better way to do it without giving the video away for free... I will do it.
I do however hope that I give you enough posts of preview pics and description that you would know exactly what to expect in my video's.
But...with that being said, I do want you to be happy with the C4S previews and will check into that this week.

Enjoy the Super Bowl guys!!!

Never had an issue with your videos Christina, you always post on here or hm, allways plenty of pictures and a decent written outline of your videos. But there are alot of other producers who dont do that at all and your sitting here looking at c4s left guessing.

I found one producer devised a rather clever way of hacking this system. He made the first ten seconds of his movie into the trailer/preview. When I downloaded the movie, the first ten seconds were the preview I watched on clips4sale. That was when I figured out what he had done. That way he takes advantage of the first ten second protocol they have in place. Very interesting.

There are some studios that when you click on the preview all you get is their opening splash screen / title and that's it. Drives me nuts when it looks like it might be a video I might like. But without a preview video or more than a single picture and a description, I am not gonna buy it. It kind of confuses me how someone would go through all the trouble to film and publish a porn or fetish video, and then do such a lazy job of advertising it on their store as to have virtually no preview material. I guess they just don't want to make any money? :hmmm:

there are 6 options.
They are:

1)Disable preview for this clip
2) At start of the clip
3) 10 seconds from start
4) 1/4 mark of the clip
5) half way through
6) 3/4 mark of the clip

For a site as large as they are in way of fetish sales, they really do have a poor setup for previews, and even searching on their site. And you cant really stop using c4s as some of the alternatives around don't even take credit cards, you have to mail order in money on some. It's a shame really cause i think there would be more sales on every video on c4s on every genre of fetish if they had a better system for users to see what the video's are about.

you are 100% right!
as a content producer i found that the preview section for eclipstore was far superior!
with their preview they ask you to choose the start time and the end time so you can have a choice as to where your preview starts. while its still 10 seconds at least with them you can choose where the 10 seconds start. thats a far superior method than a company as large as C4S

I've seen that done too, really clever idea and barring some sort of external preview site, probably the best way to do it.

I can understand the frustrations of shelling out money on a disappointing video. I have been there and done that many times myself. That is why, over at the site I work for, www.HeroinePeril.com (Yes that is a shameless plug) lol. I always post at least 15 or more preview pics from all throughout the video and post them here on this forum along with a description and a list of fetishes that are in the video. Then when you go to the site it's self, I have, generally at least a 2 minute trailer with scenes from throughout the whole video. Then we post a more tame trailer on our Youtube channel and have screen caps on our yahoo group. I'm not sure what else any site can do beyond that to give our customers. But if anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them. We appreciate all feedback from our customers. Good or Bad. Thanks.

Your trailers are probably the most generous and accurate ones in the industry. In fact, you could probably dial it back a bit and censor certain shots to stop the freeloaders getting all the "money shots" in a mini video. Maybe pixelate the lady bits and show a disclaimer that the full video will be uncensored.

It is really good that you let people know exactly what to expect. Too often, a producer will advertise "nudity" which turns out to be toplessness or maybe a glimpse of nipple through a rip in the costume.

The way you promote your videos leaves potential customers no doubt about what they can expect if they buy your product. What you do is very helpful and should be used as a model by other producers.

Here here, Heroine peril is superb for it's portrayal of what you are getting for your buck.
And as regular contributors to this forum Magic Man/ Valik rare always happy to explain and clarify content, (you only have to ask, ) and HP are always trying to improve their vids from one to the next.
Bottom line - they CARE that what the customer gets is what they want.
How strange are the ways of the gods ...........and how cruel.

I am here to help one and all enjoy this site, so if you have any questions or feel you are being trolled please contact me (Hit the 'CONTACT' little speech bubble below my Avatar).

I like how Primal Darkside has these really long gif previews that basically show you most of the video in them. That really gives us a good idea of what to expect. Should look to them for how to do a good gif preview.

Yea there are some fantastic producers out there who do give you a full preview. Primal does long gif's, xtremecomics and comicstrips do external links to full previews, people like christina, knights of gotham, kenda make posts on this forum or HM. Heroine peril has very good previews on there website and on the forum. The producers who don't include a preview or use the clips4sale 10 seconds of nothingingness, could learn something from the above producers.

The C4S interface is ancient. I'm used to it, now, but it took a while for me to learn the ins and outs. I really wish they would overhaul it. For example, I am constantly frustrated by the fact that you can't search for videos by more than one genre. I KNOW I've seen videos show up under more than one, so obviously producers can check off multiple genres, so why can't I search for crossovers? I want Superheroines AND Bondage, dammit. But no, I have to search for one or the other and then sift through tons of stuff I don't want.

I can't count the number of times I've thought to myself that I should quit my job and start up a business by creating a better site.

Problem is.. they are so entrenched that I think it would be extremely difficult to compete, even if you have a better interface. A number of new sites have sprung up over the years, but frankly, I can't say I'm thrilled with any of them. EClips is just as bad as C4S, but for the opposite reason. Where C4S is too simplistic and outdated, eClips is completely over-the-top. It hurts my eyes to look at it. Popup windows and flyouts and layered windows, and ugh, I just want to find whatever color-blind chimp designed that thing and whack him with a banana.

Do you mean that the backend is popupwindow, and layered windows? or the front end? eclipstore allows you to designed the look/feel of your page. including images/ color/etc. I didn't know the code allowed for popups but I'm not surprised.
I feel that if people started using eclipstore over C4S I would be estatic.
It takes me three times less time to update than on C4S

Very true here. Those trailers leave no doubt about what to expect, probably the polar opposite of the vague bits you sometimes get on clips4sale.

I'm not even talking about any individual store page. I'm a programmer and my company does user experience and design and I can tell you this web page is doing EVERYTHING wrong. Buttons all over the place, everything in a different color. You've got some kinda plus sign thing on the left that pops out when you click on it, a menu at the top, then video previews (which is good) and a top ten list, and three other lists. It's overwhelming, confusing, and just plain bad. You're supposed to use color and size to draw the user's attention to things that are important, or de-ephmasize things that are less frequently used. But this thing is like a rainbow exploded and there are WAY too many option right there in your face.

And click on pretty much anything (like New Releases) and instead of a full-screen of new releases, what you get is this tiny window in the middle of the page with all of the other junk still showing in the background. It gives me a headache just thinking about it. And how to you get back to the main page? Well, obviously, you have to push the close button which is... umm... where the hell is it? Is it in the upper right corner where any Windows user would expect? No, it's over on the right edge of the left-side panel.

Sorry for the rant, but this is what I do. :)

Meh....Be happy you can afford to do that. If I ranted that way on here with the closing tag "Sorry its what i do" I would be branded an elitist snob with a massive Ego, an over inflated sense of worth and unreliable and disreputable depending on who's talking. I would be told that my opinion is slander towards other producers and be sent packing....so...be happy you have that freedom.

As a person who buys clips I have issues too...but i am not allowed to say anything.

My point was that the Admin interface is much much much better than the C4S one.
And I stand by that comment.

Another thing that annoys me are the producers who continue filming with outdated equipment. The other day I bought in clips4sale a movie that appeared to have been shot with the camera of an old cell phone. Another producer says that his films are made in HD but the image quality is far from what he says sell. I will not mention their names but they are two very traditional producers in the business. Yes, the lack of decent trailers and detailed sample images irritates.

Indeed. Even if a camera says HD, the video is still going to look crappy if it's badly lit. A badly lit shot at 1920x1080 will look worse than a well-lit shot at 720x480. Certain producers need to learn that "HD" isn't a magic wand which will give you studio-quality results in any environment on any equipment with the HD logo.

This is something I found out the hard way after getting my first HD camera. Some cameras.....are not set to the highest setting by default. Also some people who don't read the manual before setting up a shoot with the new camera will be disappointed. The "Manual" button isn't a magic wand either. You are better off reading the manual and learning how to play with lights and play with the focus and Iris. Believe it or not there are people that have changed the setting to allow for more space on their memory card without realizing that this would decrease the quality. One producer actually argued with me about this and told me that I had no idea what i was talking about.

Having had no experience from the admin side, I can't comment on that. Except to say that I can see that Eclipstore has better preview options. And that I've heard the same from other producers. :)

Yeah....If C4s offered the same video preview that Eclipse does i would have to say that would make it the perfect admin update system.

Apparently that producer has never recorded a television show on a VHS cassette, a DVD or taken a picture, because that is a rule that has been around since the very beginning. You want more space on the media, prepare for your picture quality to hit rock bottom.

Its basic logic IMO.
But I have learned the hard way that the best thing to do when getting a new camera is to take that guide everywhere for the first few days (yes including the bathroom) The second thing is to setup a test shoot a day or two later. it shouldn't be with a model because the object is to learn the camera functions not to worry about the clock. film your cat or your lamp. doesn't matter. play with settings. play with the iris, etc.
take it ouside and film the trees and the bushes. see what has to change for optimal picture quality.

film some stuff in different formats and edit them and see which version you like more.
learn how to use the lights you have. you don't need $2000 lighting.

unfortunately many feel that videos are point and click easy.

I got my new camera awhile ago and I'm still learning how to use the features.

Oh...and the best piece of advice.... the white balance card is your friend. learn to use it

This is likely because people are filming on auto with no concept of what the machinery is doing behind the scenes. A video camera has to compensate for dim lighting somehow, and since aperture and shutter speed are limited, it will then resort to raising the ISO. Cameras on auto don't care how high they push the ISO because all they know is that you want to see what you filmed so they do whatever is in their power to help. But as with film, a digital camera (still or video) can only push the ISO so high before it starts to get noise. The higher the ISO, the more noise. And by inadvertently increasing noise you are essentially downgrading your own resolution. The easiest ways to increase quality are to add enough light and to add stability to the camera.

Apart from being set to auto white balance, by default cameras are calibrated best to daylight, otherwise daylight would appear relatively blue.
Incandescent light creates a relatively yellow/orange color cast.
Fluorescent light creates a relatively pale greenish color cast.

The interesting thing is that our eyes are so amazing that they not only instantly calibrate for different types of lighting, they can appear to calibrate for multiple types of lighting simultaneously. But this isn't really our eyes doing this, it's actually our brains doing it. We forget that our eyes are like cameras that are permanently hooked up to a super-computer that's interpreting everything on the fly. Even more interesting though is that after a while, you can train your eyes to see these color casts more easily with the naked eye.

If a room is dominated by mostly incandescent lighting, calibrating the white balance to incandescent is a good idea because the yellow cast will be neutralized, but if you move near the windows with your camera calibrated that way you'll notice blue light creeping in.

If you then calibrated it for the (blue) daylight and move back towards the incandescent lighting, everything will turn yellow.

I'm so amazingly pleased this has turned into a technical cornucopia of knowledge to help us better understand our equipment and how to use it.
Im sure there are several who will be pleased. I myself have learned something and now I can't wait to get behind the camera to test something out.
this has been fun!
