So far Taller Robin seems to be winning. I will most likely buy two Robins. One for the cute and tiny Lily Hockasho and a larger one for new girl Olga.
Olga can also play Batgirl since she fits into the costume and Lil;y as Robin. Or Olga as taller Robin with Eve as a shorter Batgirl
combinations are endless.

I'll always focus on batgirl not on any of the sidekicks.

Re: Does Robin always have to be shorter than batgirl?
I take it you're talking about a female Robins only? (Such as Lily and Olga.) As the males usually are a bit taller than Batgirl.
The only time that Robin should definitely be shorter is when she's being presented as the sidekick of Batgirl. As they're both Batman sidekicks, however, the heights really don't matter.
I've found the heights tend to go down in the pecking order of the Batman Family. Until you get to Bat Mite, who could be played by your new dummy.

Re: Does Robin always have to be shorter than batgirl?
Realistically Robin should be younger, less experienced than her Bat. So long as the height difference isn't totally overwhelming - Batdwarf and Giantess Robin - then I don't see it posing too much of a problem. Besides they're all the same height when they're tied up!
Re: Does Robin always have to be shorter than batgirl?
Female Robins can be either, but not by much. I think of Batgirl as being very petit and physically overwhelmed (Cali Logan is the embodiment of Batgirl in porn and she is under 100 lbs). Female Robins are only of interest because Robin was in so many perils in the original series. Personally, I would love to see them remade with a really petit batgirl.

Re: Does Robin always have to be shorter than batgirl?
according to Wikipedia the heights
in Batman 1966
Burt Ward =1.73 m
Yvonne Craig =1.63 m
In Batman y Robin 1997
Chris O'Donnell =1,78 m
Alicia Silverstone=1,65 m
I thought Robin was the shortest too. Burd Ward is only 2 centimeters shorter than Michael Keaton, who was Batman.
I think it doesn't matter.

Burt Ward was 5’8”. Yvonne Craig was 5’4” plus a bit for the heals on her costume. Julie Newmar was 5’11”. TBH, I would not have minded seeing her domming Batgirl. Earths Kitt was a better match for Batgirl, she was also 5’4”. Pussycat, played by Leslie Gore was a mere 5’2” (she and Newmar were a great pairing, a shame they never got their hands on Batgirl)
