Short and sweet photo stills from Hazard Con in Erie PA this past weekend.
Though this was mostly an anime convention, we did surprisingly well in establishing a foothold in Erie, which is 2 hours north of Pittsburgh.
- Comic books stocked at the one excellent Erie comics shop, Books Galore.
- A dozen comics and 2 T-shirts sold to the convention crowd, which seemed to be about 300 people.
- Gave out dozens of promotional stickers.
- Showings of Episodes 10-12 (Friday) and Episodes 13-15 (Saturday) attracted about two dozen people.
- Great photos of Alicia as supervillainess Sintilla (see below).
- Cross promotion with the Eerie Roller Girls roller derby team.
- Recruited two new actors for the series.
- Immediately after the Con, several new downloads of episodes from the website!
Now we're onto to Steel City Con in two weeks, where we have six heroines stopping by and we'll be pushing the comic book's debut issue.
Check out these photos from Erie!
Visitors to the Panel 1 room were greeted by an entrance covered with Heroineburgh photo stills from the Episodes they were about to watch!

Alicia out of costume but still looking super-hot. As a professional go-go dancer/burlesquer, she has an impeccable sense of style.

Well, it was mainly marketed to the anime crowd, so perhaps most of the regular pop-culture types didn't know about it.
But there were indeed some comic-book folks there as well, and several hundred people attended.
If you're that close in Erie, come down and visit us at Steel City Con on Aug 9-11!
And start shopping at Books Galore, if you haven't already been doing so for decades (it's been on Peach St for 30+ years).
I got the graphic novel of Empowered: Unchained, which is great, and a copy of The Orville #1 (unfortunately, the art is meh).
As we drove home down 79 South, we saw the enormous encampment of the tents of PENNSIC (the Society for Creative Anachronism's annual gathering)
on the right. It was quite impressive!
Postscript to Erie:
Books Galore sold out of the first batch of Heroineburgh Comics #1, and so we sent them more.
Villain, if you didn't get your copy, you have another chance to go down to Books Galore on Peach Street.
Thanks to everyone who supported us in Erie so far!
