Great sequence of action

This is a fave of mine. Maybe others can contribute their favorites.

From The Daring New Adventures of Supergirl, issue 4.

This is just perfect. The first panel is so kinetic with the flying glass and lamp tipping over. Panel 2 shows Supergirl appearing to be trying pretty hard with her flying punch. Panel 3 is brilliant. The flipped damsel in distress vibe is so palpable with Supergirl rescuing a guy who was clearly in desperate straits. And the art is fantastic, with Supergirl's long hair flying and perfect legs on display. Panel 5 establishes Supergirl's superiority with her confident warning to the green villain, which makes panel 6 the ultimate peril payoff as Supergirl get double-teamed by the two male villains, actually crying out in pain.

Infantino!! Grew up with him on both the Supergirl book and Dial H for Hero, and of course, over at Marvel, we can't forget Star Wars!

Excellent find, sir!
Bert

Yeah, the whole sequence is great but the second and third panels just strike me as beautiful art.

Last time I headbutted someone, I too heard a distinct "BWASH"

Strange, as I got a THWOCK!
But then again it was my mum so maybe it's different when it's strangers.

You're painting a poor picture of the social habits of the Welsh, Tally.

And for Damselbinder we have "Thrakk!" in the final panel, which I interpret, along with the three blurry fists, as three rapid blows in succession. Grin!
Damselbinder

How in the name of God does a fist make any sound with an 'r' in it?

(Also, yes that is a very nicely drawn sequence)

I was sure you were going to go after the PTOK! in the previous frame!

There's a great scene of powergirl being beaten by Kal-El (alternate universe superman). Pretty cool. This is the stuff that got me into this kink as a kid except when she was laying there I'd scream "Are you gay!? Take off her clothes! Who cares about your death ray!"

I'd be fine with it, except that it makes it look like he punched the brick that's flying to the right of the panel, and that the brick then hit Wonder Woman, and that's why she's flying back.

Mr. X, I don't see the actual panels where Power Girl gets beaten, but imagination works wonders too.

Now, on the subject of great sound FX in comics, I was surprised to learn from a steady diet of Ya Boi Zack new comic review videos that not every sound effect has been done yet, and there are still new ones to try. Below is an interesting one from Spider-Woman #6 I wouldn't recommend buying the book unless you want to read about an angry woman beating up every male human and alien she can find..but there are a couple of choice butt shots in the art reminiscent of the Frank Cho and Milo Manara controversies.

And apparently, all through the new issue of Juggernaut (#3), legendary writer Fabian Nicieza is really taking the piss on these sound effects. There's no question that he's doing it on purpose. The 90s style action in this series is superb. Writers need to up the game to Fabian's level!
