The way I write is, when i get an idea, I flip open Notepad and jot it down raw...then at some point Ill go back and try to make a cohesive thought or idea out of it...

But I thought I would share this all with you now, since I think it will help to understand the idea of why there are so many superheroines in Arkham Heights to begin with...

And then maybe you guys can help with fleshing this all out...

During the cold war period, when parts of the United States were waking up to find missle silos in their backyard, the U.S govt was also setting up research complexes in quiet little villages all over the US. One of these places was Arkham Heights.

The complex included an advanced weapons facility as well as the top nanotechnology laboratory in the world. The complex was set up in the abandoned mining district in the northwest end of town, where it would attract little attention from residents.

The Arkham Heights facility brought in some of the worlds leading scientists and some of the most advanced weaponry concepts ever discovered by the modern world had been developed here.

The advanced weapons facility researches and designs.(I can't remember the word the military uses for incapacitating enemies without killing them) From this facility comes hypnotic, sonic, visual and airborne weapons and defenses..

Perhaps there's an area underground that has a government faction still dabbling in the MK-ULTRA program, thus all the hypnosis related stuff there.

Actually, Yes, to the Mighty Hypnotic question. He was a scientist who helped create some of the secret weaponry and then went a little mad from all the experiments. The military tried to dispose of him and well, he didn't appreciate that too much, either.

I have a bio on him on another computer..

World Domination. One city at a time. If he can bring the whole globe under his hypnotic control, he gets into the casinos for free.

The whole idea is that the world is rebuilding, all the major cities have been destroyed..the only places that still have signs of life are smaller areas that were not deemed strategic targets, or were located outside of the radiated zone... but that radiation could play a key factor in why some heroines have strange powers... that can be later on in the saga...

I never got the whole world domination thing. Once you have it, what do you do with it? Indulge you're creepiest fantasies?
Yes...anytime you want and without worry of using coupons. :) Dr. Doom's dream has always been World Peace, just under his control.

I see the Angels, Force and Squad schools as all being around currently in Arkham Heights, just the inherent rivalries between the factions, as well as the, "uneducated," vigilante types, like Knightwoman, ArachniaGirl, etc. running around.

Here's how I'd probably settle it as far as connections and such.

Schoolgirl Squad - They have the academy that's been around for a long time and could be considered the first of its kind. It's totally private.

Blue Angels - Government funded and still something of an experiment.

Wonder Force - Private school, but is able to receive government grants. They tend to be a bit more diplomatic and try to act as ambassadors on behalf of the heroine community. Unfortunetly, the Angels don't particularly care for them.

Other heroines - Most of them are probably your school of hard knocks types, though someone like Retro Heroine could be a former Blue Angel, who decided to model her current look on the classic Blue Angels look (and thus occasionally drawing the ire of the Angels themselves).

For the Underworld series, I'm hoping to have these heroines be a bit aggressive towards each other, even to the point of almost sabotaging one another when tracking down a bad girl.

Oh yeah, one more thing about the Angels and the whole experiment. I can see them eventually branching out, which could come in handy if HW is ever able to do a crossover with another site.

I'd like to think that graduates get their own identity. Scarlet Pink, a character I came up with in the hopes that she's played by Jordana would be based on that concept. She's a Schoolgirl Squad graduate who still wants to help out other Schoolgirl Squadders, perhaps as an instructor while still fighting crime in her own identity.

And yes, instructors identities would be withheld from public, as in nobody knows their real names. Kinda like the Blue Angels and Wonder Force.

I think the characters like Scarlet Pink who graduate from the Schoolgirl Squad would probably be considered, "okay," while others acting as vigilantes would probably be frowned upon. It could set up some nice scenarios. The sanctioned heroines never want to turn another heroine in for being vigilantes, so I can see some of them, in particularly the Blue Angels doing their best to discourage them (especially when they run across someone like Retro Heroine, who could be an ex-Blue Angel).

I think it's safe to say that there wasn't much here until the govt showed up. But what made this place a flashpoint was, after the cities were obliterated, this became the obvious spot to come hang out since this is where it was all happening. Like a Los Alamos on the east coast. In this nuclear conflict, major cities were wiped out..but other areas were left standing. We could say that the armament of the time had progressed to the point that pinpoint nuclear strikes could be made without the widespread fallout and collateral damage, sparing a location such as Arkham Heights...

Sorry I am just jotting out these ideas as I am editing a new video...

Yeah, but do we really need the whole post apocalyptic feel?
