WOW! Those preview pics look fantastic. Looks like Candle's costume is right in the spirit of Julie Newmar too. Can't wait to see more.

This is inspired casting. She's great as Batgirl with Christina Carter, but I think Catwoman suits her better, IMHO.ltrltr wrote:Looking at the pics, Candle seems to have the Catwoman mannerisms down perfectly.

And dayum does she look good in that outfit!
I think the one thing we can all(or most all) agree on is there should be at least 1 chloro scene. For me a ots carry would be a winner as well.JWeathers wrote:Well, after spending the lst few days buried in the studio building crazy props (small and quite large), it is finally the day to shoot this. Meh. OTS does nothing for me. And chloro doesn't do much more.Richpartist wrote:I think the one thing we can all(or most all) agree on is there should be at least 1 chloro scene. For me a ots carry would be a winner as well.JWeathers wrote:Well, after spending the lst few days buried in the studio building crazy props (small and quite large), it is finally the day to shoot this. Here is the issue. Everyone wants a specific thing. That is fine. Unfortunately, I learned early on that catering to one person's tastes or even a group of people does work. Individual don't just want a specific thing, they want their specific thing and as it turns out, what they love, other people hate. So trying to please individuals just ends up making other people disinterested.TIEnTEEZ wrote:Meh. OTS does nothing for me. I am starting to realize that this is why these videos are so hard to make - because everyone has different tastes.
It's probably going to be up on the clips store in mid to late November. I have to shoot a short scene with Angela in the beginning of November and that will finish off what I need to do for the production. Probably the biggest sticking point is going to be the music. I'd like to write new stuff for this production, but I'm not sure I have the time to do it... we'll see. I will let everyone know progress as it continues.TIEnTEEZ wrote:Any ballpark estimate as to when the video(s) will be available for purchase?
I expect whenever it is, it will be far longer than any of us want to wait.
I mean, are we talking next week, next month, next year?
Yeah.. like I said (much more succinctly), "everyone has different tastes."JWeathers wrote:Here is the issue. Everyone wants a specific thing. That is fine. I understand that not everyone here is going to be a fan of mine, or is going to be interested in what I do. I can't please everyone and I honestly don't try. I just try to make what I think is cool and hope that people enjoy it. I've explained this on my forum, but I may not have ever said this here. Back when I first started producing back in '97, I thought, "I think I'll put out a poll and see what people like." So I put up a downloadable poll that people could fill out that had basically every fetish related to the bondage community included in it. What is your favorite tie? What is your favorite position? What are your favorite clothes? What are your favorite types of girls? It went on and on and on. At the time we were running a free site and we had a LOT of people coming there. But still, I didn't really expect the amount of feedback I got. Over 350 people filled this thing out and sent it back to me. The result? Everyone wanted something different. There was NO single aspect that anyone could agree on. These people loved stockings. These people hated stockings. These people loved ball gags. These people HATED ball gags. It went on and on. I decided right then and there that I would never try to satisfy a single person or a group of people. It sounds like a great idea, but it doesn't work in the end. I think part of the success that I've had is that I had a very specific vision of what I wanted to do and it didn't come from outside. It came from me.
I've had people telling me what I should be doing to make my stuff better for fifteen years. They may well be right, but unfortunately, they aren't me. I will close this with another story that really relates to this. A few years before I started doing fetish professionally, I wrote a series of Batgirl fan fiction called "The Perils of Batgirl." That was around '95 or thereabouts. The reason I wrote these stories was because I had "offered" my advice to another writer, explaining what he should do to make his stories better. His response? It was basically "Fuck off, and write something yourself." So I did. I'm not saying that to people who have ideas on what I should do. I'm honestly not that much of a dick (or I hope I'm not) - That is why you will never see me tell anyone how they should do their productions. I can tell them how I go about doing what I do, but I can't tell them how they should do it.
I will say this however: Doing it yourself means that the "fantasy" of it is gone. You made it. You know everything about what went on to make it. It is never going to be the same as if someone else did it and you watched it. Sorry about that. It's sort of a catch-22 in that regard...

Yeah, I know. I can be ridiculously long winded sometimes. Not trying to be "soap boxy". Just trying to explain where I am coming from in terms of why I do what I do.TIEnTEEZ wrote:Yeah.. like I said (much more succinctly), "everyone has different tastes."
I happen to love what you do, so I guess my tastes and your coincide. Lucky me.
You're preaching to the choir, brother. Amen.sneakly wrote:I remember the wild west days of alt.sex.stories.bondage there were few good stories and a lot of bad critics. The best stories were just that, stories. The thing that makes Jim's videos and PoB stories good is because he tries to make a production that is something he would want to see.
When I see a video where it is girl gets ko'd six ways from Sunday, I see it as a straight porn, produced to satisfy a particular fetish. PoB was written and now filmed because, I think, Jim appreciates the source material.
The reason his work is so good is that he is interested in things beyond the fetish. The lighting, the sets (nothing kills it for me more than seeing a video shot in a cheap hotel room). He could turn around and bang out a video in days, but won't it be better with decent music?
But that's kinda where I was coming from really - the original show had the knockouts /gassings. - piniata, Egyptian urn, umbrella gas, Lord Ffoggs pellets etc. I see a ko as part of that by whatever means. I'm a great respecter of Mr Weathers body of work but to me it seems a shame to go to all this trouble to recreate the authentic feel of it and miss out a key aspect of the peril.sneakly wrote:I remember the wild west days of alt.sex.stories.bondage there were few good stories and a lot of bad critics. He wanted chloro, ots + ko.
As do I. Gotta have the heroine go down somehow. An overpowering is good but I'd like a ko or chloro. But if its not to be, throw in a gassing at least
The photos will be going up on the site first, probably early November. The video clips and full DVD and Blu-ray will be later in the month.blurb9 wrote:Changing the topic back from why it did not have x, y, or z in it that individuals might have wanted if they had been the funding producer, since that is kind of moot now that everything has already been photographed and videoed anyway, *grin*, I saw above where an ETA for the video's release was given but was wondering when the photoset would be released? Or would they be simultaneous? Thank you.
Thank you for the fast response, Mr. Weathers, and in case I came across not as I intended by my post, I was not complaining about what is or is not in it, I was just trying to shift the thread back from the eternal "x vs. y" preferences debate to instead go back to finding out more information about the actual product, which by the way with your track record I am sure will be up to your usual standards. ;-)JWeathers wrote:The photos will be going up on the site first, probably early November. In regards to whether everyone is going to buy this, it doesn't really matter. I don't expect everyone to like what I do and thus buy the end result. That is never going to happen. Sorry I don't produce what some of you require. That is just the way it is.
Short answer: nope. I wish I could hurry this along but the scene I need to shoot is right at the beginning of the film so I can't release the first part even in pictures before I have the footage. :/blurb9 wrote:Thank you for the fast response, Mr. Short version, is it early November yet? :-)
