I used to hang out there, but it started getting to costly....but my biggest "problem", is that I don't have an internet connection good enough to play around there. (Satellite equals way to much latency). :( Now, on those times that I care to chat, I generally hang on IMVU. Not a full 3D world like SL, but what IMVU can't provide as far as that whole "World" experience....they sure make up for with their avatars. IMO, some of the BEST meshes and textures for 3D chat clients.
