What's with SHG Media's payment system?

I was looking to purchase a new superheroine video the other day, and I was impressed by all the previews I saw for SHG's Battle For Earth line. Maybe a little heavy on fighting and beatings, but I can appreciate a well-made video. I went to check out and the only payment option they have is to send in a check to pre-fund your account.

What gives? Did they have a falling out with their credit card processor or something? It seems pretty crazy to me that a company with such high production values seems like it's using a payment system out of the late 90s. Just curious if anyone knows what's going on with them.

It must be a recent change since I remember another option a few months ago.

Have you tried directly buying from The Battle for Earth site? It has a slightly different list of videos.

It seems that their payment providers only support certain markets, i.e. I can use paypal in UK but not at home leading to the ridiculous situation where I need a VPN to pay and then to log in locally to download the file I just bought (or I buy it while travelling and transfer when home etc etc)

In fairness to SHG, I suspect this is a payment provider issue rather than their issue but the extra hassle puts me off buying SHG stuff

Normally I am able to pay using Paypal when I am at home in the US, but I remember that once I tried to buy a video while I was traveling abroad and the only option available was to pre-fund the account. I contacted the site administrator and in a couple of hours they enabled the Paypal option. My suggestion would be to contact the site administrator at [email protected] and explain your situation.
