Interesting fact about shark biology - Sharks have a tongue referred to as a basihyal. The basihyal is a reasonably long, thick piece of rough textured cartilage attached to the floor of the mouth of sharks and other fishes.

Factoid number 2: other than the jawbone, a sharks body is made up almost entirely of cartillage and so you only ever find the jaws, not a skull of a shark.
