Donald Daggett..boarded the late night ferry from Lethem which was sailing south along the Rupununi River to the town of Isherton. From there..Daggett planned to escape over the border into Brazil where he had associates who would hide him from the law...as well as from the crime queen of Guyana's interior...Mary Rosie..alias Grandma..whose money he was using to buy himself safe passage out of Guyana.
Inside the suitcase he carried...Daggett had both the cash which belonged to Grandma..as well as ledgers of all the illegal monies which came through his legitimate businesses to bankroll her various criminal enterprises. He entered his cabin and closed the door behind him...thinking he was home free...with Rohanna having been disposed off..and having fled from Lethem before word reached Grandma about his sudden departure. Donald Daggett was soon to be proven wrong on both counts...
