Image / Video upload

I was just curious if anyone might know a reliable way to upload videos or images shared here on the forum. Currently Imgur is the only option I personally know of, and Imgur seems pretty unreliable. I'd rather not have to make people go to external links or download files if there is a way that the video or image can just be seen in a post.

If you click on full editor and preview button at bottom of post, you can drag and drop photos and gifs, then add them into your post. These are hosted by forum servers. Videos I haven't figured out. I usually turn them into gifs at exgifs and then post. I would love to have a way to post short video clips directly to the forum.
If you see something you like, please hit the "Thumbs Up" button at the top of the post.

Ah, the old gif method. I considered it, but wanted to exhaust options on the video front since Gif's are vastly larger files.

Re: Image / Video upload

Currently, we don't allow video uploads because we lack the conversion mechanism to put them into a displayable format. When you upload a video, it's usually processed by ffmpeg which will render it into h264 at an optimized bitrate for smooth playback. From there you would need a player to display the video (Much like how YouTube works). HTML5 also allows this but I am getting ahead of myself.
TLDR - Video playback outside of YouTube or Vimeo is not enabled yet.

This will change once I update the software which is starting to happen. Best bet is to you YouTube but since your videos are NSFW your options might be a bit limited. You could try Vimeo but they tend to clamp down on adult as well.

Sorry we don't have more options at the moment.

No apologies needed! I can just render videos to gif format for the time being.
