There's no fatigue. Just give the fans what they want and given them a well written script. Give us Hulk Smash. Great movie BTW.

I agree! It was a great movie! It's not rocket science, give the fans what they want!

Re: Deadpool and Wolverine

Hey, if you watch this from the privacy of your own home, you can do your own screengrabs. :)

Anyway, sure, this movie gives the fans exactly what they want:
- Popular characters they know and love, without any swaps, changes or agendas.
- Plenty of action and easter eggs.
- Lots of variants and timeline/multiverse shenanigans. It's not what I enjoy, but it's what Marvel fans have come to expect, and when it's done right, it does provide humor and visual spectacle. Certainly characters like Alligator Loki are extremely popular at Comicons, so we'll probably see some Dogpool outfits and so on.
- There's almost nothing for the intersectional types to complain about. Plenty of representation in the movie, but nothing that slows it down or breaks immersion. I, for one, am surprised that they didn't bring Zazie Beetz back as Domino.

Zero peril for us, though. And nearly zero sexiness. Morena Baccarin, an extremely attractive woman, is there for almost no reason other than to provide context. Blake Lively has an absolutely bangin' body inside that Lady Deadpool costume and that's about it. I've already seen some over the years, but I hope we do see more shapely Lady Deadpools at Comicons in the coming year.

The undercurrent through the whole movie is the homoeroticism between Deadpool and Wolverine, both of whom have already been canonized as 'bi' in the comics (who hasn't?), culminating in the orgasmic explosion of manly muscularity you see above. So yes, people who like male physiques (whether the ladies or the gays) are getting their fan service. I'm sure we'll see more of that at Comicons as well.

That was Blake? Wow. I would think they could put anyone in a suit.

Re: Deadpool and Wolverine

After reading the rave reviews on here and in other places, I was afraid the film wouldn't meet my expectations, but it in fact it surpassed my expectations, I thought the movie was awesome. It was the most meta and inside joke film I have ever seen, and I enjoyed every minute of it. I loved the cameos, I've always had a soft spot for Jennifer Garner, loved the whole Affleck/Daredevil/Jennifer Garner ex joke. I was kind of proud of myself for connecting the dots on that inside joke. The use of music was inspired in this film, I didn't expect a song from Grease during the Deadpool/Wolverine fight scene, LOL! There is not a lot to laugh at in the theatres these days, but Deadpool and Wolverine certainly foot the bill in that regard. I didn't think they made movies like this anymore. I am glad they still do.

One thing they put in was Cavil cocking his fists like he did in Mission Impossible.

yeah, but Rise of Skywalker was "giving fans what they want", Snyder verse is "giving fans what they want" I don't think "fans" sustain a cinematic universe, suspect it is the pull of Ryan Reynolds that really makes the Deadpool movies great and work. the easter eggs/fans service is spice on a good performance.

I really feel like you've got to earn it. This movie was like Endgame for all the characters in all the shitty Marvel movies that didn't make it (and some that were not shitty). You need years to build up that sort of reservoir of good vibes. DCEU tried to tap that emotion with like their second or third movie.

Rise of Skywalker tried the same thing, but paid the price for letting JJ 'Random Shit Happening For The Sake Of Mystery' Abrams be involved. Dude loves violating established canon so much he could have it added to the list of fetishes.

Re: Deadpool and Wolverine

I don't see a lot of movies these days, there is not a lot I am interested in seeing. Deadpool and Wolverine was excellent, a film with a ton of cameos, most of which I was able to identify the actor. There was one character in the film, Gambit, I didn't know who the actor was (no, I haven't been in a coma) but I had the strong feeling the actor playing Gambit was somebody of note. Channing Tatum. I knew the name, but not the face. I didn't know who the actor was beforehand, but in Tatum's portrayal of Gambit, I saw a dynamic and charismatic actor inhabiting the modest role with precious little screen time. OK, I am a little late to the party, but that Channing Tatum sure can shine, even in a supporting role. This film makes me curious to see what else Channing Tatum has done.

I just found out that while it was Blake Lively some of the time (and definitely Blake's voice), all through the combat sequence Lady Deadpool was portrayed by hot blonde stuntwoman Christiaan Bettridge, who also doubled for Gal Gadot in most of the WW film appearances and also in Red Notice. Bettridge has also doubled for Famke Janssen, did some work in The Marvels, and will be doubling for Uma Thurman in Old Guard 2.

The more you know!

Re: Deadpool and Wolverine

Loved this movie from start to finish. I think my absolute favorite is the last post credit scene with Johnny Storm actually saying every foul thing Deadpool had accused him of in front of Cassandra Nova. I can't believe Chris Evans did that! It was so fucking funny.

Just found the speech on reddit:
"In the void you're either food for Alioth or you work for her. And I'll tell you who her is; Cassandra Nova - a megalomaniacal psychotic asshole, a finger-licking dead inside pixie slab, a third rate dime store nut milk, and I'll tell you what she can do, she can lick my goddamn cinnamon ring clean and kick rocks all the way to bald hell. In fact, I don't give a shit if she removes all my skin and pops me like some nightmarish blood balloon if the last thing I do in this godforsaken cum gutter existence is light that fuck box on fire I still won't die happy. That's right Wade, I won't be happy until I've urinated on her freshly barbecued corpse and husk fucked the charred remains while gargling Juggernaut's Jugger Nuts, and you can quote me."
Fun article about the speech and Chris Evans:

Re: Deadpool and Wolverine

Supposedly Brea Larson had two scenes that they cut and won't even put into the extended cut that has 30 min of extra footage.

No. That was just a rumor from someone trying to get rage bait clicks.

https://www.reddit.com/r/LeaksAndRumors ... _from_dpw/

They also said Bree was suing Ryan Reynolds because he cut her out of the movie. That was 3 months ago. No lawsuit. No followup. Also it would make zero sense to have them in the movie. It was all Fox-verse Marvel characters.

You might have seen this 3 month old rumor resurface on certain types of youtube channels that really, really, really do not like Brie Larson.

Once again I would like to remind everyone that consuming stuff that is focused on hating something else, is probably not good for your overall mental health.

There's more than just rumors of a movie cut driving this latest spate of anti-Brie sentiment. It's coupled with yet another cancellation of a Captain Marvel comic series, this one at #10 from Alyssa Wong. This makes about a dozen Carol Danvers comic book runs that have been cancelled since approx 2013. The Youtube 'haters' are reveling in that, as well. It's a character that hardly any comic book customers want to support. The so-called "Carol Corps" is virtually non-existent.

Sorry I crossed over into comic book territory trying to explain this, but that's apparently why it's come up at this point. It'll die down quickly, I'm sure.

No. Just a 3 month old rumor.

Once again. To anyone reading, please stop filling your brain with hate 24 hours a day. It is really bad for your mental health.

Well, actually, there are now videos (such as one from Mike Zeroh) claiming that Tatiana Maslany was in a spat with Ryan Reynolds about having *her* cameo scenes in DP&W axed by Reynolds and director Shawn Levy. Not sure how true that could be, but there are videos about it.

Yes. Videos entirely based on a rumor from 3 months ago. That makes no sense. Why would She-Hulk be in the movie? Why would Captain Marvel be in the movie? They wouldn't be. They're not in 20th Century Fox movies. Why would someone choose those 2 actresses to make an obviously fake rumor about? When was the last time anyone with a real career in Hollywood tried to sue someone because their scenes got cut? What would the actual lawsuit be? They paid me but didn't use my work?

It is so weird how people make hating things into their entire personality.
