Wondrous Woman/ Rosanne Lucarelli

:lynda1: Does anyone have this film? or know if there's a site or producer where I can get it? It's called Wondrous Woman played by Rosanne Lucarelli. I searched everywhere and I couldn't find any site or platform where I can see the full film. Seems like an interesting work. Only found a couple photos from the IMDB site and a trailer video on YouTube. If anyone has any information I would be glad to purchase that video Image[/img]

Re: Wondrous Woman/ Rosanne Lucarelli

Looks like it was produced by a studio named "Bear Hollow Productions". There is some contact information on this link (https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?companies=co0206127), but I think you have to pay for it to get acces to it. And since it appears they only ever produced one film, I'd figure that it's an old and now defunct studio anways, so their contact information might not exist anymore or be outdated...

Updates:
I think I found an upload of the original movie, but you'll have to pay a rather sketchy looking site... You can try your luck here: https://pontaven.org/film-magyarul/2012 ... film/play/

In case that doesn't work:
Using the Wayback Machine I found what I think is the old website for the movie: https://web.archive.org/web/20140109001 ... movie.com/
On the very broken 'contact' page snapshot, I was able to find an old Yahoo Mail adress: [email protected] . Not sure if it's still in use, but if you're really desperate you can try asking if they know anything about the movie....

Another update:
I went back to the Wayback Machine and discovered that the director for 'Wondrous Woman' (Chris Del Sordo) also worked for another film producer named 'Blue Door Films'. Using this link https://web.archive.org/web/20200222235 ... tion-about I managed to find more recent contact information from 2019-2020.

Nice find, hope the full short film pops up somewhere. Looks like Rosanne moved on from acting.

https://italialiving.com/featured/an-ex ... lucarelli/

She graduated Cum Loud.

"Rosanne grew up and graduated high school in Ocean Twp, Monmouth County, NJ. She is a Cum Laude Graduate from the University of Maryland with Phi Kappa Phi Honors, and was an advocate for Special Olympics while in University."

She's a realtor in NYC now: https://theorg.com/org/world-wide-land- ... li-miranda

Re: Wondrous Woman/ Rosanne Lucarelli

According to that article, at the time she was looking for "Peace, with someone who makes me laugh, rather than cry" and a "selfless, genuine loving husband and a couple of healthy children, who will enjoy laughing with me and my nephews".

Much like the plot of the movie she starred in, apparantly she was looking for genuine love and compassion. I really hope for her that she found those things in the 12 years that have passed since then. She seems like a lovely and passionate person.

Re: Wondrous Woman/ Rosanne Lucarelli

Wow, Rosanne is gorgeous! Looks a lot like Jennifer Aniston.

Hey guys! I figured it out. There's no full-length movie. The whole thing is just a short film under 9 minutes long (yes, I know HiDef said that already).
If you go to the Wayback Machine link which was posted above by hpibd, and just click on 'see film', the whole film downloads automatically.
You can watch it at your leisure. She is super hot in this - basically a sexy nerd who is a novice at becoming a superheroine and also not great at finding true love. The scene with the Black Canary and Aquaman action figures is funny.

Also, while searching for it on Tubi, I did find an action/kung fun grindhousey flick from 1973 called "Wonder Women".
I'm surprised nobody mentioned this on the Forum. It has three female fighters of diverse ethnicity kicking ass and getting into scrapes.
There's even a funky soul theme song called 'Wonder Women' which closes the film.

Re: Wondrous Woman/ Rosanne Lucarelli

That sketchy site shows it at 19:00 minutes long but then again it's a sketchy site so nothing about it can be trusted.

The first couple of times clicking on the Wayback link I got nothing. I kept getting, "Wayback Machine failed to return archive information." It wasn't until I tried several times was I able to download the 13:32 minute version @ 640 X 360.

This is certainly worthy of upscaling.

Commence upscaling in 3...2..1.

OK, this is not for sale anywhere on the internet and the website has been abandoned so I don't see an issue with posting the full video.

Upscaled as promised. I love how she wears the costume throughout the film.

Hey! Sorry I got the time wrong. I'm not even sure why I typed 9 minutes, I must have been looking at the time wrong.
It is actually 13:31 according to the copy I downloaded from the Wayback Machine (which worked on the 1st try).
I'm not sure that it even needed upscaling - it seems fine as is - but happy to see you do it.
Anyone can watch it now - there's not even a real transformation (because part of her shtick is that she wears the costume all the time, which makes
very little sense) but it satisfies the viewer's gaze in general. Enjoy!

Re: Wondrous Woman/ Rosanne Lucarelli

She looks great wearing the costume. I would like to see a transformation in order to make a difference between the heroine and the civilian identity. Despite it doesn't have a more extended plot I appreciate they put effort creating a superheroine story with a character development that seemed to be good. Really loved to see a sexy, nerdy, down to earth woman portraying a superheroine.
Gonna take some inspiration from this if I ever produce any content and hope the actress Rossane Lucarelli is doing great.

It's a fun concept to try and wrap one's head around.

But the more I think about it, the more a superheroine who is 'on' 24/7 and even eschews sexy transformations requires a much greater of suspension of disbelief in human nature and society itself, rather than just in her superpowers alone.

This reminds me a lot, actually, of a more intimate version of the Luna Brothers' comic book series 'Ultra' in the early 2000s.
In that comic (which briefly became a terrible TV pilot starring Lena Headey), all the identities of the super-team were public, and they were treated like celebrities all the time with both advantages and pitfalls of such status.

The comic itself focused on Pearl Penalosa, a Latina heroine named 'Ultra' who had a costume, a smoking body, and powers *quite similar* to Wondrous Woman here, and how she and her friends were dealing with the fame and fortune.

It would have barely been possible to maintain a private lifestyle as a publicly-known superhero even in the 80s. It certainly wasn't possible in 2009 when this short film was made, and it would be completely impossible now. Paparazzi and news networks and enterprising indie TikTokkers would all be on her front doorstep every moment of her life, and she'd never even get enough peace to go on any of those fabled dates, let alone have hot sex with a handsome man (or woman, please God) in her apartment.

She'd have to establish a massive Fortress of Solitude on the moon or something, which is why Superman had one even though his identity was secret, and then of course an Elon analogue would launch a barrage of mini-satellite drones to track her down even there. I could even imagine her arch-nemesis not wanting to destroy her, as Luthor wants to do with Superman, but being obsessed with having sex with her instead (like the way Maxima wants to breed with a Kryptonian). That would actually be kind of a fun concept, although I don't know if it could be played for laughs in 2024 like it would have been in "My Super Ex-Girlfriend".

It'd be almost impossible for her to decompress, and she would go apeshit, unless of course one of her powers is somehow infinite patience and tolerance. I'd love to see how such a pressure-cooker scenario would play out in a longer form than the mini-series that the Luna Bros provided with Ultra (which is still in my Top 10 superheroine adventures of all time, regardless).

So, if that's what you mean by inspiration, then yeah, sure :) (j/k)

Re: Wondrous Woman/ Rosanne Lucarelli

I upscaled it for my own pleasure but decided to share. As for it making a difference, it depends on the equipment you're using to view it? It makes a huge difference when viewing on a large 4K monitor with a high-end GPU. Also the original has some artifacts that were somewhat cleared up with the AI engine. I did not use the highest quality engine when upscaling or when re-encoding to a more manageable file size. My intent was to share a better quality video. As for transformation into heroine, that's really not my thing. I prefer to see the heroine in action while in costume. I think you may be missing the point of the film, it's satire. As for it making sense, it's a fantasy, not reality.

I understand why you did it, and I said that I appreciated you doing it, even though I'm not a high-quality videophile.
I didn't claim that transformations were everyone's thing, just that there wasn't one.
And I did, in fact, affirm that our gaze (on her body in the costume, of course) would be well satisfied.

I did not miss the point of the film. It's a long-form satirical comedy skit. Not as long form as "My Super-Ex Girlfriend" but in the same ballpark. I completely understand that it's a fantasy - namely, the fantasy of the writer and filmmaker.

However, I also prefer world-building to be internally consistent, and for there to be a world where a sexy superheroine can exist and save people and try to find love, and a handsome male superhero to also move in next door to her, yet for that world to not have any press or paparazzi or anything else that could disturb the idyllic existence of these individuals without any secret identities, seems to strain incredulity. And that's one thing that's amusing about it, which drives the absurd comedic aspect, like the superheroes attending a Christmas party on Saturday Night Live (one of my favorite skits).

Now that I have some coffee in me, I could think of one consistent world where this would make perfect sense: if there were thousands upon thousands of people who were just slightly superhuman (not to godlike proportions) and had been walking around in costume and helping stop crimes for several generations to the point where people were just used to seeing them around in their spandex outfits and didn't think much of it other than to briefly comment on it or make a pass at them, I could understand the public nonchalance.

It'd be like in my hipster neighborhood, I'd be walking down the street and I'd go, "Oh hey, there's an Amish guy" or "there's a Rastafarian" or "there's a hot girl wearing yoga pants", and then I'd just go about my day because it was utterly unremarkable.

Then, one could easily focus on the internal, emotional rom-com struggle this sexy, tightly costumed superheroine has trying to find love in the big city, because she has no other struggles, other than the occasional tussle with a purse snatcher.

Another explanation could be a superhero (or superheroine, or even several) with a "pacifying" power, which makes everyone in a certain area around them nice and peaceful.

True, although it would have to be automatic and passive in order to work all the time.

(We have an active bliss-producer in Heroineburgh by the name of Etherea but she has to consciously emit her hormones to make it happen.
The only characters I can think of who are passively pheromonal tend to be ones with sexual components like Eros and Crimson Fox.)

I checked, and incredibly, there is NO superhero called The Pacifier. You'd think it would be taken long go, even just as a joke, but it's wide open. I might be wrong, but it doesn't even seem like anyone even considered it as a possible passive power.

Anyway, I hope everyone enjoys this fun Wondrous Woman short, and maybe some folks can make peril-centric fan art out of it.
Get Wondy into the danger zone!
