Our new home!!!

Hey all,

So we’ve got this shiny new forum interface now, how’s it treating you?

Personally, I’m loving the fresh look, especially the updated homepage.

It’s super clean and modern, though I’ll admit the new layout is a bit confusing at first. I’m sure it’ll click after I poke around some more.

What do you all think so far? Anything you’re digging? Stuff that feels off?

Re: Our new home!!!

There are a lot of tweaks that need to be done so everyone just bear with it in the beginning.

For example the story page needs to be spruced up and pretty much the whole site will need some 'fixin' but feel free to poke around and tell me what's working, what isn't.

Well, the heroine dungeon stories, and in particular the story I’ve published, are ones I have trouble reading all the way through.

It probably needs a re-post sometime soon, but it’s nothing too worrisome.

I’ll have to work today, but I’ll be back tonight to dig around and get used to the new layout.

Well done, by the way, especially with the improved producer visibility on the new main page! Super exciting!

Re: Our new home!!!

Thank you for your work with the move.
I had a bit of a probably entering the new site. When I wanted to log in, I got an error. I tried it several times, until I was absolutely sure I did it correctly, without a typo, but still the error. Then I gave up and asked for a password change. That email did not come, so I came back and moved to the main page, only to realize, that suddenly I was logged in.
Had anybody else such a problem?

Hi yes, I will fix those issues. That is a temporary problem as I get all the users synced up.

That doubleclick sit the forum tries to log into has a long delay.

Right click on the "Superheroines" link at the header of the forum, underneath Quick links / FAQ, and selected "Open in new tab". Then bookmark this page. (Or just go here: https://www.superheroineforum.com/board_dir/.)This will take you to the naked forum without the surrounding framing page. The framing page just houses the chat and the sidebar of the most recent activities elsewhere on the site. It's this framing page that is showing the blocking loading message -- specifically the chat I think. If you're not interested in the chat/sidebar, you might as well just access the forum instantly without waiting for the framing page to finish loading.

That's correct!
I am planning on providing a link for direct access. (If you click on any of the recent topic links on the front page, it will take to you the "naked forum" {I like that!)
There are some widgets that need to be styled or removed.. still working on that. When the dust settles I think it will be a lot easier for everyone to manage.

I can't scroll. I can see 1 or two posts then there's no way to scroll further. On firefox.

Re: Our new home!!!

One thing I really like now is that when you click on the latest posts, you're taken straight to the last one. Before, you had to scroll all the way down manually, but now it’s super convenient. It’s a small change, but I really appreciate it!

Regarding the new framing page, are things going to stay as they are, or will framing eventually be available throughout the entire forum?

Personally, I prefer the new layout.

Well Done, there will be hiccups along the way, sure. But it looks savage so far, I hope you guys are enjoying it as much as I am.

I see the problem now. When you first registered here, periods and spaces were allowed in the usernames.

But that was changed a while back so I think it causing a problem with the other database. I will fix that.

Re: Our new home!!!

I am working on these issues. I have removed the "splash" screen so my advice would be use SHIFT+F5 to reload the browser and see if that improves anything. I've noticed some memory errors that I need to fix that will hopefully improve these issues.

It's Thanksgiving here so I will have limited time to work on this today. But I will be back on it tomorrow.
