Teaser trailer dropped.
I am teased.
Looks like Gunn might be about to save Superman and DC.
Apologies for not embedding it, I have forgotten how.
Superman 2025
Re: Superman 2025
Spoiler
I am not sure about this. Gunn seems to want to make Clark be more of a buffoon than the Christopher Reeves version and Lez looks almost as bad as the last Lex.

Yeah but it's got
Also do we need to spoiler a teaser trailer? I mean I feel like maybe we should, at least until people have seen it for themselves, get them instant reactions and whatnot. Probably won't need to further down the thread I guess.

Re: Superman 2025
I absolutely don't think we have to spoiler a teaser trailer. But since everyone else is playing along, who am I to buck the trend?
Here are my thoughts:
1) I don't see why I even need to know what a "Yamcha pose" is. When a superhero falls to the earth, he curls up and makes a crater. That happens no matter what. I don't need to hear about it from kids through an "anime lens". Superheroes fell out of the sky for decades before the 90s.
2) Do the Oscars still have those required diversity requirements they instituted a few years back for movies to qualify for consideration?
Because if so, Gunn did a good job making sure this movie is eligible.
3) Nonetheless, I'm excited for how many good-looking female characters we will be seeing in this:
- Lois Lane (no complaints. looks pretty similar to a younger version of the character from Superman & Lois)
- Hawkgirl (her costume was tight in Madame Web. hopefully it'll be tight here. although she is 5-foot-1. So she'll mostly stay in the air?)
- Supergirl (hope this leads to a TV series or a movie for Milly. we all want that, I assume?)
- The Engineer (high time for this character to get her own Wikipedia page. hopefully she will now! hopefully also an Authority movie?)
- Eve Teschmacher (this one's literally a supermodel. got to be top-notch to hold Lex's attention)
- Cat Grant (Mikaela Hoover: gorgeous and underrated)
4) Other:
- I'm not a big fan of Krypto looking like a mangy mutt. He's supposed to be more of a handsome purebred dog, I thought?
At least he was in the Titans TV series.
- Guy Gardner bowl cut (third-string Lantern who's never really had a story arc beyond being an asshole and hitting on Ice and Fire)
- Metamorpho (the one guy who naturally has Kryptonite at his disposal whenever he wants? Hmmm.....)
- Mr Terrific (the black male Mary Sue? What's he gonna do that Superman can't?)
The inclusion of the above three characters is so random and doesn't seem to have any logic to it.
I guess we'll see if James Gunn takes this mythos seriously and doesn't make it too goofy. I like the fact that he throws in so many characters
like every movie he makes is somehow the last chance to slip them all in.
5) "Boravia"? Seriously?
If James Gunn is going to such lengths, I think we might a lot more imaginary European countries to look forward to:
"In the mid-20th Century, in Europe, several traditional hereditary monarchies managed to survive both world wars, remaining independent and retaining their original form of government. Among these were Boravia, Carabas, Cornovia, Gardevia, Gavonia, Granaco, Kravia, Markovia, Moldacia, Norania, Numark, Offalia, Pan Balgravia, Ruina, Sardonia, Solvonia, and Valdania. Others, such as Cerania, Emporia, Patrania, or Resbia, are confirmed to have survived the First World War, but are not known to have survived the second."
That's about all for now.
Here are my thoughts:

Re: Superman 2025
How about we give this movie a chance.
Not going to really listen to any reviews of a sneak peak when there is so little info. Remember people hated Cavil when they first saw him.

I see an interesting trend with this movie. I am all for cute little spinners getting cast in movies, I always thought petite women tend to be more evenly proportioned than really tall women. The male lead ist 6'4 and most of the women are under 5'5". Lois is 5'3" and Hawkgirl is 5'1" (she does look hot as fuck in some of the pictures I've seen), so is the Cat Grant character. Alcock (fucking awesome name) is 5'5",Teschmacker is also. Are they going to have all these women teetering around on heels or are they just going to order a lot of step stools and orange crates?

Re: Superman 2025
Agreed. Yeah it's either going to be crates galore or a lot of crouching for Mr Corenswet.sneakly wrote: ↑1 year agoRunning with this theme....Spoiler

Found this nice clip where Isabel Merced talks about fitting into the Hawkgirl costume. Wait for the end because it's eyebrow-raising.
I was also intrigued by her use of the slang term 'snatched' to mean that she wants to look hot, rather than just saying 'hot'.
To be honest, I didn't think much of her in Alien Romulus (it was underwhelming in general) but regardless of her stature, I am now officially
thinking of her as alluring due to this interview, and I'm going to guess she will be one of the best reasons to see this movie.

OK, after watching this other clip, I'm officially crushing. Deal with it, as I put on a pair of sunglasses. What did it for me, actually, was 1:45. But she is overall just a little packet of sexual energy. Build that wall if you must, Mr President, but please leave a 5' 1" hole in it to admit as many tiny Peruvian princesses as possible. Forget Hawk Tuah Girl, this is Hawk Girl!

Also, check out the unreasonably hot Cat Grant! (to the left of Lois Lane)

And then, more than seven months out from the release of this movie, we already have to see this:
Ugh.
Just make movies, Mr Gunn. Just make the fucking movies.
