JPEG files

Since this site went through its changes I can no longer see some photos (jpeg files). It’s mostly the older ones but instead of the image I see a question mark.

Is there any way to fix it or are those photos gone for good?

Re: JPEG files

Could be those were not linked from another site?

Usually when you see a question mark in place of an image, the image may have been modified or the format is no longer supported. An X means the file is missing.

Security settings can also cause this issue. But since you mentioned it's only old images then most likely the image has been modified or corrupted.

When moving a large amount of files to a new server the files can get modified. The placeholder of the image is still there but the data has been altered resulting in the question mark.

Actually, I have most of those images and I need to reload them onto the new server. It's multi gigs worth of images so I just need some time to do it.
