Curious what other people think
Japanese Giga in particular have better costumes and effects than American ones.
But there is a lauguage barrier.
If they dub them (even though the men sound like gangsters and the women like Jewish American Princess) there would bea market?
Non English Superheroine Videos
Re: Non English Superheroine Videos
I'm torn on Giga.
On one hand, the production value, especially the costumes, sets, and enemy design is far better than most (not all) western equivalents. You can tell there’s real craftsmanship involved.
The variety of actresses is a major strength too.
But on the other hand, the narratives feel copy-pasted: almost every video follows the same formula with little to no innovation. And the censorship really kills the experience.
I agree that the language barrier is a real problem too. Their English-subbed catalog is shockingly small considering how many titles they’ve produced. If they actually dubbed or properly subtitled their library, they’d definitely be more prominent on the western market. But as it stands, they seem weirdly uninterested.
Also worth pointing out, we used to have R18 as a platform to purchase their videos, but now it can only be done through their own site.

Re: Non English Superheroine Videos
The Japanese take on the genre is kind of awesome, imo. Their producers and models really understand the assignment and nail the kinks they target, and they always bring ambitious sets and costumes. They also iterate on their ideas endlessly, which makes their content library seemingly bottomless. But yeah, there's a kind of narrative arc meta they really like for heroine peril stories that I personally really vibe with - with corruption/seduction often happening by the end of their sexual peril content, and peril scenes often having a lot of foreplay before they escalate. I think they come at the fantasy at least as much from the POV of it being a fantasy for the captive as well as for the captor. They also often have a good eye for a really erotic scene idea or bondage position, or new interesting peril conceits to iterate upon.
Their subtitled stuff is awesome (their dialogue also kind of nails the assignment, imo) but personally I think it would detract from their content if it were dubbed - though I appreciate it would allow some people to enjoy it that would otherwise find it inaccessible. I think expanding their library of subtitled content would be a great move on their part.

Reiko in the Spandexer series, Anri Okita, the Saint Force series, the one with the young guy who kidnapps Wonder Lady brings her back to his lair and implants a dildo in her? The young guy who pretends to be helpless at first? All 5-star films! Not to mention Wildkat's series.

I believe there is a small amount of movies that started Briana Blair, usually named as 'foreign hero SuperLady'.
I've only seen one of those, but in that video, she spoke English, fought against another American actor playing the villain (who had the typical shonen-inspired monsters as henchmen) and thus it was the opposite: it had subtitles in Japanese, translating the English audio.
Maybe if they expanded that series, or at least with an English-speaking cast, than it might gain more traction overseas?

Giga has been boring and formulaic as of late. And the girls are cute but not the outstanding ones they used to get like Reiko. They do appear to have some seam stress locked in a room making costumes for them, that's for sure. I usually lean for the giant heroine videos only because they have more exotic content. The rest seem almost boring at times.
Anri Okita for example is a very frustrating choice. They had her as wonder lady but no adult/topless content even though that's what she does. Ironically she does get chloroformed in that movie.

I believe you can purchase pretty much any giga heroine costume online now? You can even design your own and they will make it for you. This place is in China: https://www.zentaihero.com/giga-heroine-series-c-248/
I think you can buy them in person in Akihabara Japan also? That's where the name Akiba Heroines come from, Akiba is short for Akihabara. The Japanese take the cosplay/heroine fantasies much more seriously than we here in the West do.
But yeah, it's same old stuff being produced by Giga and Zen anymore, lather, rinse and repeat.

Yes I bought about 5 costumes and they do Marvel and DC outfits. Be prepared that they take a long time, like 1-2 months. Also some are flimsy made and some get the sizes wrong like pants way bigger than the top. If you do buy for shoots at least buy 2 of whatever you get. Also the accessories are cloth and mediocre like gauntlets and belts so be prepared to make your own.HiDef wrote: ↑11 months agoI believe you can purchase pretty much any giga heroine costume online now? Wow, that Zentai costume site is nice (that is, if you really receive what is shown in the photos!).
Not only do they have some Giga costumes, it looks like they also have some NGC costumes as well.
Everything's shiny and tight and well-modeled (is that Alyssa Reece I see, modeling a Supergirl outfit?)
Anybody want to go on a Caitlin Fairchild costume? (ha ha, because, y'know, she's my avatar)
As for Giga, it's pretty much like everyone said: awesome intricate costumes and lots of beautiful women, but very formulaic. The formulas, though, are pretty incredible, and it's hard to improve sometimes on what is almost perfection once you strike gold. One of the best things about Giga that nobody has mentioned yet is the way that the camera lingers on the sexy body parts in the costumes with plenty of close-ups. Also, the actresses do lots of amazing physically flattering heroic poses. And Giga has probably filmed *more superheroine transformations* than anyone else, ever.
If they would subtitle their videos in English (no overdubbing, just translations!), they would create an entirely new audience which might be quite large. As for myself, I always wonder what they are saying the videos because there is an awful lot of dialogue - considerably more than in the Western productions.
Anyway, long live Giga. It's the world most impressive SHIP output so what else can you say? It'd be hard for anyone to catch up!

Re: Non English Superheroine Videos
From what I heard, the Giga dialog is quite humorous, if you are a native Japanese speaker.
I have seen some of the Giga movies where they de-pixilate the images using AI. They look horrible. Dubbing would be similarly disasterous. Who want to here a dubbed over version a tiny little asian girl getting boned in English?
The problem with any producer is that they may not produce a huge amount of that one thing that scratches your itch. Giga is making videos for the people that grew up in the Japanese mediascape of Japan. They grew up with Ultraman and sailor moon, not Batgirl and Wonderwoman.
I wish they would do more batgirl style bat-traps, but on the flip side, when they do tentacle vore, nobody does slime covered women with dissolving costumes better... Zora is probably one of the best female villains in existence, any time I see her involved with any spandexer style heroine, I watch.
All porn is a hit or miss affair. There are going to be people where a ball gag or boots are super important and nothing else matters. I think someone at Giga thinks crucifixions are the cat's meow... I don't find them particularly interesting (St Andrew crosses are the exetion), but some one at Giga loves them..

Re: Non English Superheroine Videos
Did someone speak the magic words Ball gag and summon me here?????
Re: Non English Superheroine Videos
I would not buy a dubbed video but a CC translation, I would. There are some Japanese speaking individuals offering subtitles for a price. I won't mention them by name here because I don't know if they're legitimate or not, but you can search them yourself.
EDIT: I use iMovie to add my own subtitles or even credits at the end of a video, but all you need is the English SRT file for the corresponding video and then align it with the video timeline. iMovie makes it a simple process but there are other programs that you can use.
