Anyone watching the awaited Season 3?
I thought the first episode was fine, a satisfying if somewhat rushed conclusion to last season's cliffhanger vs the Gorn.
The fact that the humans are stored away in sticky pods as food for the reptilian offspring is a classic horror trope - might as well acknowledge V the Visitors and Alien as influences.
The second? A bottle episode, involving a baby Q, where everyone on the ship suffers from a vast delusion?
Not highly original, and it violated continuity, since nobody was supposed to have met a Q yet. (Same problem exists with the Gorn, too,
and it looks like SNW often doesn't care about dovetailing correctly with whatever facts were established in TOS, including Romulans.)
As far as whom to watch? The producers know that it's a good idea to make most of the female characters attractive.
La'an is gorgeous in a spandex bodysuit, while teaching Spock how to dance.
Uhura is quite busty in one particular dress.
And Una (Rebecca Romjin) continues to be majestically milfy.
Pike's girlfriend (Capt. Batel) is OK, but we never get to see her in a seductive outfit.
Any opinions on the first two episodes so far?

It's weird how at one point I can't find anything good to stream and then all of a sudden an avalanche of new stuff just gets released. Definitely looking forward to streaming Strange New Worlds season 3. I really enjoyed the first two seasons. There really to seem to be echos here of the glory days of classic Trek series with Strange New Worlds.

I loved the proto-holodeck episode. The whole series has been strong thus far.
Was especially good to see the new Kirk really get to throw himself into a Shatner impression.
Scotty is a superb bit of casting.
I am worried that La'an is going to end up in a fridge plotline somewhere. Hopefully not though. I'm worried that the writers might forget that the character who suffers in order to cause Spock to become a more stoic and withdrawn figure is Pike, not one of his girlfriends.

Shatner's view of it wasn't so favorable.Dogfish wrote: ↑10 months agoI loved the proto-holodeck episode. The whole series has been strong thus far.

They did Spock so wrong in this series.
