Gamer Chairs

For anyone who is a professional or avid gamer.

What do you look for in a Gamer chair in terms of comfort and how long do you usually play straight?

Got to have lumbar support. Got to be roomy, I might like to move about some. Got to be tough, because I might be moving about in it. I like a chair I can sit in properly, one I can slouch in, one I can fall asleep in.

I've had a Noblechairs chair for about three years, it's pretty great. Had one of those before that but it got mauled by my niece and nephew bouncing around in it at the same time.

Next time I'm thinking I might look at a high end office chair. Like a proper fancy one. I can, and have, played games for many hours at a stretch, but it's also my home office chair, movie watching chair and stuff.

Don't just buy something online because it looks nice. Try before you buy.

Gamer chairs that look like car bucket seats have side bits that are fairly pointless, and are very uncomfortable if they're too narrow for your shoulders.

Ikea has some reasonably priced functional "gamer" chairs, and office chairs, and you can try them out.

Should also mention that a decent inexpensive chair is a great shout because it's expendable. You don't have to endure it for the sunk cost.
