50 Shades of...well, we'l just have to see

Are you ready for the weekend? I am!! After weeks of feeling …not so good, to say the least. It’s time to live again. So besides Valentines weekend it is also the opening night for the 50 Shades of Grey movie. One of two things will happen… 1.. It will suck and leave all in the business feeling completely let down. Or 2… it will be amazing and there will be a big business boom and we will all be working our asses off trying to keep up with what the rush of newbie fetishist are looking for. I must admit I was not really thrilled with the actors they chose, but who knows…maybe I will be pleasantly surprised. I will let you all in on a tiny little secret…little miss innocent will be pulling up websites looking up kinks…and you will be seeing someones site pop up…no, not mine. But a very close friend of mine…someone I shoot for often. It won’t say the site name…but you will know exactly who it is when you see it.
Plus this might be the only reason I’m going to venture to the theater to see this. I mean… how do you show the real BDSM lifestyle with a NC-17 rating?

Speaking of movies.. check out the trailer for R-100. That’s all I’m going to say…lol. Will I be seeing this movie? Uh…yes..because it looks so damn crazy I MUST..lol

And in other fetish news….. I am sure you have all heard that one of the models had a very bad accident while on set. It was a wresting shoot where they were trying to pull off a very hard and dangerous move. A pile driver. She ended up breaking her neck in two places and was paralyzed for a bit. Luckily she was very close to an amazing hospital that took very good care of her. She can now walk and is slowly getting feeling back in her arms and seems to be very positive about the whole situation. There have been many rants from models I know very well stating that they will never wrestle again themselves.

How do I feel about it? Well, It was a horrible accident, but that’s what it was…an accident. In this industry we do a lot of dangerous things….weather it be bondage, BDSM, wrestling, even posing for pictures in very dangerous places. I will not stop wrestling, like always…I’m against pile drivers, and rarely do them. When I do, it’s done with “movie magic” if you get my drift. I have more of a chance of getting severely fucked up on the 405 or 101 getting to the shoot…but I’m not going to stop driving..lol. My heart goes out to Klarra Daniele/FWR Carrie and the producer she was working for… I’m sure he is heartbroken and stressed.

The 50 Shades hype reminds me of 1999 and the wide-eyed fanboys queuing up for The Phantom Menace.

The new dawn of cinema was upon us... Until those CGI Trade Federation guys started speaking in comical Japanese accents which made Mickey Rooney's performance in Breakfast at Tiffany's seem subtle and restrained. But that opening scene must have been a blip... George Lucas couldn't possibly have made a sterile CGI cartoon full of misjudged racial stereotypes. And then... Jar Jar Fucking Binks!

I worked with a guy who kept going back to see TPM again and again, convinced that it must be great really and he was somehow to blame for not appreciating it. Like a battered wife, going back to her abuser.


I predict there will be a lot of excuses made, subtexts sought and tickets sold before the 50 Shades film is eventually regarded as a piece of crap.

I heard the book was written like a children's book. If the book is bad I imagine the movie will be even worse. As you pointed out it's clearly for newbs. I personally have no interest in it whatsoever. Seems to me like just another case of Hollywood doing their own lame interpretation of something.

This is horrible. I appreciate that actors are enthusiastic about action and wrestling scenes, and actors and models are gonna do whatever the hell they want regardless of what I say, but no fetish is worth breaking your neck! I don't know this girl at all but I'm glad to hear that she's going to be able to recover THANK GOD. My only advice is to be careful with your body. It's more frail than you realize, and when you're young you do feel invincible, but certain injuries can make life really miserable for you for a while or even permanently and it's just not worth it. I sustained an injury while exercising and it really opened my eyes to how reckless I was being. It took me over a year to fully recover from it.

Sorry if I'm coming off as parental here. It just kills me to hear about injuries like this.

I havent read the book but there's been a few docs over here in the UK looking at the ' 50 shades Phenomenon' and they had excerpts read .. . and it was just infantile sexual writing. No sense of eroticism to it, no sensuality, just juvenile sex scenes. The actors reading some passages just burst out laughing.

I doubt the film will be any good.

The book was originally written as Twilight fanfiction. After everyone told her how good it was, the author changed the characters' names and got it published.

The only explanation I can come up with is that 50 shades appeals to those who are afraid to look up porn online or cable. It's their guilty pleasure curiosity since it's mainstream enough that they can rationalize going to see it or read it while convincing themselves they haven't sunk to the low of watching porn. Little do they know, they've sunk very low indeed, in terms of good taste.

Its all women who were raving about it in work. I don't know a single bloke thats read it.
I think because most see porn as a bloke thing and aren't exposed to it, they basically didn't know shit from wild honey when this came along.
It was a way for them to dip their toes in the water but by reading supposedly a work of literature rather than trawling the net, because of course porn is disgusting and women don't need it.
Throw in a rich handsome millionaire character thereby combining the magic female ingredient of the possibility of limitless shopping and it was always going to be a winner.

I haven't seen it, nor have I read the books. Don't know if I plan to.
Several people I respect have read and seen the movie and have said it simplifies our culture and makes the kink itself one sided. Im not in a rush to see it....The only good thing I can say about 50 shades is that with its success there is hope for talented writers who live this lifestyle to write a legitimate interpretation of the lifestyle and gets the kink right. The fact that its doing well opens the door to others who can write something that actually reflects the lifestyle.
